I opted for a build-your-own bowl with chicken, which came out to just under $20 before tip. At first, that felt a little pricey to me, but the portion size was absolutely massive. Honestly, it was large enough to easily make two meals, which made the value feel much better. The woman helping me was incredibly friendly and even let me sample three different dressings before deciding. I also appreciated that you can get your dressing on the side if you prefer. All 3 I tried were good, but all very different, and I'm glad I had a chance to try them! One thing to note is that it was fairly warm inside the business, which gave me a little pause considering it's a salad-focused concept. That said, everything tasted fresh and high quality. There were only two employees working during my visit on a Wednesday around 6:30, and with about 4-5 people ahead of me, it took around 20 minutes to place my order, get my bowl made, and check out. The staff was working hard, and being incredibly helpful, but if you're in a hurry, just plan accordingly. Overall, I'd definitely return. It's nice to have a quality salad option at Boxyard, the ingredients were fresh, the portions were generous, and the service was helpful and kind. Just be prepared that there may be a bit of a wait and to spend around $20 if you're adding protein (but you can easily share or make two meals from it!!!) The salad was coated with just the amount of dressing and the sweet potatoes on the salad were a special treat, making the salad both unique and delicious! The waiting is a bit uncomfortable as you are kind of wedge between the people waiting, but you do this pretty much everywhere at any restaurant in the airport. I ordered a latte and the deluxe breakfast sandwich. My favorite part of the sandwich was that the bread was fresh. Food was hot and can we talk about the bacon. It's soooo yummy to get a sandwich that the bacon is legit bacon. Crispy, flavorful and it had a good amount of it in the sandwich. I placed my order thinking I could simply sit down and eat there. Apparently, if you order from the takeout side, you're not allowed to sit in their dining area, even though you just bought your food and coffee from the same place. So there I was with a latte, sandwich, and a stroller, having to scuttle around RDU looking for somewhere else to sit. Not exactly the experience I expected when I thought I could just order, sit down, and eat. And here's the part that annoyed me even more: the takeout checkout asks for a tip. I tipped when I ordered, only to find out afterward that I couldn't even sit in their seating area. Had that been clear upfront, I certainly wouldn't have tipped. My recommendation: skip the tip if you're ordering takeout here. The setup really needs to be communicated much more clearly, especially for travelers unfamiliar with RDU or La Farm. Food-wise, it was okay. I ordered the Fromage and a latte. The Fromage was decent, though I've definitely had better focaccia. La Farm is a well-known Raleigh local spot, so sure, it's worth trying--but at RDU, make sure you order from the right side if you actually want to sit and eat.
