However I felt that it overpowered a lot of the sandwich flavors. I also got the Mamey Batida which was smooth and subtle with its sweetness. My first time having a Batida and I really liked the consistency but will probably be choose a different flavor next time.

This restaurant is kind of a hole in the wall, in a strip mall, and just happened to be on the way for us as we went to the airport. We decided to try it, and are so glad we did! There food was fantastic and the service very quick and attentive. We tried the tamal with pork as an appetizer. There was a delicious cilantro sauce artfully spread around the dish, and the tamal was delicious. For entrees, we shared the roasted pork with mojo sauce and the steak that was marinated in garlic and lime (sorry; I forget the name!). Both were EXCELLENT and were plated very attractively to boot. We tried rice and beans, sweet plantain, roasted yuca, and roasted vegetables as sides, and all were great as well. We finished with rice pudding for dessert and we were licking the dish clean! I wish this restaurant were in our hometown, because we would frequent it often. Delicious, fresh, and reasonably priced! You should try it! read more

My family went here for a late lunch recently. Wow! What a wonderful meal we all had! Two of us had the Shrimp Creole that was scrumptious! The shrimp were a good size and the flavor was very good. Also the picadillo was very good. We felt like they had prepared it all personally for us! The owner took our order and was very attentive to make sure we were satisfied. Honestly, my past experiences there have always been pretty good, as the place was clean, the staff friendly, and the food consistently solid. That's why when dinnertime came around today, I didn't think twice about ordering from them. I had some friends over to watch the USMNT Gold Cup Final soccer match and I was really craving Cuban food. I placed an order through Uber Eats expecting the same quality I've come to know. The food actually arrived pretty quickly, in about 35 minutes, which was great. But as soon as I opened the container with my Cuban sandwich, I knew something was off. It wasn't pressed properly as you could tell right away someone had rushed making it. But the real disappointment? There were no condiments at all. No mustard, no pickles, no mayo... nothing. It just seemed like someone lightly buttered the bread, barely warmed it up, and sent it out. When I opened the sandwich, it was even worse there was hardly any ham or pork inside. Honestly, it looked sad. I was so disappointed, I ended up tossing it in the trash. I mean, it's one thing to mess up a random order, but this was a Cuban sandwich from a Cuban restaurant. That's the signature item. How do you get that wrong? The rest of the food was okay, not great, but edible, so at least my guests had something to eat. Still, I'm the one who chose the place and really wanted to enjoy my meal, and they completely missed the mark. I'm giving El Rinconcito Cubano of Kendall a one-star review based on tonight's experience. To be fair, I've had good meals here in the past, so I'd be open to giving them another shot down the road. If they step it back up, I'll happily update this review. But tonight? They really dropped the ball.
