    BBQ Plate Combo

Upon walking into the restaurant, I felt like had walked back into the 50's. I think I recognized my parent's old dinette set, weird. The service was good overall, the staff was very attentive. The portion sizes were excellent, but the food itself, just average. The smoke was too light for my liking, the sides just average, and I cannot believe there weren't even greens offered. Their take on chicken was interesting, it was a sliced breast as opposed to the traditional pulled chicken. The children were even less receptive to the food offerings than I was, just an eh experience.

The Rainbow Sandwich & Brunswick Stew... tasty and filling, too!

Could not love this place more! Very eclectic everything, from the cool, hodgepodge interior to a menu with something for everyone, including one of the most unique sandwiches I've experienced - The Rainbow Sandwich! I had to step out of my comfort zone and give it a try while the opportunity was there... so good!!! Happy I did. :) The BBQ nachos (pork), Brunswick Stew and the grilled cheese/chili combo were all fantastic. All of the servers were friendly & helpful and the food came out quickly. Stop here if you get a chance - fun spot with great food!

The food was absolutely delicious, and the café had such a pleasant atmosphere. Our waitress was very nice and provided great service. The décor was cute and inviting. The nachos were outstanding and reasonably priced--I would highly recommend them! Overall, a wonderful experience."

The Purple Daisy Picnic Café is an absolute gem! We enjoyed a wonderful lunch that included chicken, pulled pork, the famous Q-Dog, and a charcoal-grilled hamburger. All I can say is--this place is yummmmmmy! I sampled a bit of everyone's plate at our table, and every single bite was delectable. The meats were perfection--tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The pulled pork was silky and moist, the chicken cooked flawlessly and brimming with juiciness. The Q-Dog, with its perfect balance of slaw, pulled pork, and hot dog, is a flavor explosion you can't miss. My charbroiled burger was grilled just right, with toppings that complemented every bite. And while everything was wonderful, the baked beans deserve their own standing ovation--absolutely the best I've ever had! The café offers both indoor and outdoor seating, each area clean, comfortable, and inviting. The wait staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly, making the whole experience even better. If you're anywhere nearby, do yourself a favor and visit the Purple Daisy Picnic Café--you'll leave happy, full, and already planning your next trip back! Excuse my photos, the food was so good that by the time I thought to take photos the food was gone.

Came by at 6:15pm on a Saturday with plenty of seating available both inside and out. Staff was friendly and service was quick. We got the pork nachos and smoked wings. Both were great, I probably favor the nachos. The homemade bbq sauce is delicious, between the two I favorited the sweet one. For the wings, the side of ranch was definitely made in house. Would come back again to try more items!

The purple Daisy picnic Café is located right at the bottom of Lookout Mountain. If you are driving up the mountain either to go to rock city or staying on the mountain for your weekend getaway, this is the perfect casual spot for a quick lunch. I had read about the rainbow sandwich and was intrigued and knew I had to order. This is a three layer sandwich with pimento cheese, chicken salad, and a cucumber spread. It is absolutely addicting. I did half of a sandwich with a cup of chili. My husband got the barbecue nachos. We were both happy with our lunch and it was a great stop after our drive down from Nashville. We would definitely come back. Don't miss the fruit tea by the way.

Little hole in the wall, lunch and dinner diner. It's name us because the owner loves purple and daisies. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Where regulars known by name, the servers smile and great you warmly. Service is fast and prices are reasonable. If the server tells you your meal has a lot of food, BELIEVE her. I did not and could not finish. I had the BBQ Pork Nachos. To die for. I also had a bowl of chili. Tasted great just not spicy enough for me. Added Purple Daisy Hot Sauce and it was perfect. I highly recommend this place.

Such a vibe! Cool place, awesome bbq and great music playing on the radio. I ordered the bbq chicken sandwich. So good! My husband ordered the pork plate... said it was delish! If we are ever back in this area, we will most def come back to eat here. Servers were also great!

Great food! The staff are super friendly, service is quick and reliable, and the vibe is relaxed and welcoming. It's such a fun little spot with good BBQ and picnic‑style fare. Definitely one of my favorites when I'm in the area.

Staff were SO nice and welcoming. Telling me there was no rush, I could sit and eat, etc. I spoke to the charming Chris, who went over the entire menu with me and offered for me to sample a few of their pasta salads and pimento and made suggestions. He was the biggest sweetheart. In the end, they didn't have the daily special chopped Italian I'd seen so, I went with a turkey and cheese with pimento to go and some sweet tea. At checkout, another friendly and lovable female staffer was totally charming. My sandwich was HUGE and the pimento cheese was some of the best I've ever had! And, your girl is from the South so, I've had a metric ton of pimento in my life. I really like the location and the vibes inside. Local's gem. And the staff, A+++++

Yellow deli is one of the best restaurants in Chattanooga in terms of tourist experience due to it being truly once of the first yellow delis. Although the staff might be a bit off putting at times, they are very kind and respectful of the customers that come in--all of them are very gentle and soft spoken. If you are in a rush this is not the place to go because their service time is respectfully slower than most. The interior of yellow deli is so beautiful, very much old cottage/pub like style--the whole place has intricate woodwork, warm/soft lighting, and giant murals on the wall. I am vegetarian, and get the veggie burger a majority of my visits, and it is TO DIE FOR in terms of flavor. I have been aching to get my hands on the recipe because it really is that good. On that note, it is difficult to eat at times because the patty comes apart, I would ask for a fork and I'm sure you will receive. Before I went vegetarian my go to was the deli rose and the saltiness of the deli meat with the sweetness of the sauce is unbelievable. The bread is house made and is undoubtedly fresh and delicious. There is not one time I have been that the quality of food they serve has slacked. I definitely recommend!

The church chairs also were kind of messing with the vibe. Looking back, I'm not surprised at all to find out the restaurant is affiliated with a church. But the food was great! My friend enjoyed her pizza and I liked my burger and fries. I think the burger could have had some more flavor to it and more cheese, but the bun was awesome and the fries were amazing. Nothing arrives looking like it spent twenty minutes being positioned with tweezers. It's meat, bread, potatoes, pickles and sauce--the sort of food that requires napkins and leaves evidence. The Reuben is borderline obscene. A heap of deeply colored, tender meat barely contained between aggressively toasted bread, melted cheese and pickles. It's messy. It falls apart. You stop caring almost immediately. The turkey club is the quieter surprise. Thick slices of actual turkey--not the sad, uniformly circular stuff that's been haunting office refrigerators since the Eisenhower administration--piled onto grilled bread with bacon, avocado and enough richness to make the whole thing work. Then there are the potatoes: thick, fried rounds with crisp, dark edges and soft centers, served without ceremony alongside ketchup and a creamy orange sauce. Simple food done properly. There's nowhere for bad technique to hide. And that's really the appeal of Main Street Meats. They're not trying to convince you that lunch needs a backstory. They butcher animals, understand meat, make sandwiches and appear to take all of it seriously without taking themselves too seriously. Michelin noticed the place. After eating here, it's not particularly difficult to understand why. Come hungry. Order too much. Get the Reuben. Wear a shirt you don't particularly care about.

It was also a beautiful day so we sat on the patio. I love that they work with local organizations for fresh vegetables and meat! Our waiter was very nice and fairly attentive. But the food... For the good - the crab cake was delicious. It was like all crab meat with no filler and was very tasty. The pimento cheese was also SO yummy. You could tell it was made fresh and had a great flavor. The pita it came with was fine, a little over-grilled. I was not crazy about the fried okra. I wish the pieces weren't just cut in half, because to me they had that slimy okra texture inside. My gf said they weren't THAT bad, but I really had to push myself to eat them. The rosemary fries have a great flavor and were crispy (I prefer thicker fries but my gf enjoyed these). I LOVE mac and cheese and was super excited to try theirs. It was very creamy and had a good flavor but there was way too much cheese for the amount of noodles. Like the ratio was pretty off. Now for THE issue. My gf ordered the Filet Mignon, medium. It came raw and without the blue cheese compound butter. By the time the waiter came to check on us, I was half done eating. He took the steak to be put back on the grill and brought it back with a bowl of crumbled blue cheese. It was still raw inside. He brought us extra fries, but by the time it came back I was done eating. She asked for it to go and it was STILL RAW. She had cut it, so it was super obvious if you looked. The manager came and talked to us and they took it off the bill, but for a $40 filet mignon it should not take 3 tries to cook it right and it still not really be right. She said there are cold spots on the grill and they're training a new line cook, but it was not a good look... I'd maybe give more of a pass if they were packed, but there was no one eating inside and maybe two other tables of folks outside.
