I recently rescued a dog who has been severely abused and neglected. He is afraid of everything, and I was incredibly nervous about his first grooming experience. But Rascal's blew me away with their compassion and professionalism. The staff took their time with him, showing incredible patience and care. They even tag-teamed the process: one team member held him, comforted him, and spoke kindly while the other carefully trimmed his nails. What could have been a traumatic, one-time-only ordeal turned into a surprisingly positive experience--he actually enjoyed it! I never thought I'd see my dog this calm and happy during grooming. Unlike other groomers in the area, Rascal's truly has heart in what they do. They even have a window where pet parents can watch to see firsthand how ethical and kind they are. Despite the fact that we had submitted our records several days in advance of dropping our dogs off, and despite the fact that our records indicated the dogs were up to date on all vaccines, the lady working the front desk waited until we were there in person dropping our dogs off to tell us that they needed further information. She made it clear that she didn't care at all that this was delaying our travel plans, that she would be losing our future business, or that we would be posting negative reviews online. She was rude and unaccommodating. When she finally agreed to take our dogs, she threatened that if the owner had a problem with our records, we could still be asked to come pick up our dogs early, and if we weren't there (which I told her we would not be, as we were going out of town), there could be a fine. I asked her if they had any written policy showing this, and she was unable to find anything to show me.  I'm sure you are wondering what was wrong with our vaccination records. They showed the date the vaccines were administered and that the bordatella and distemper vaccines would be due one year from that date. The problem was that it didn't specify the exact date new vaccines were due. I guess she was unable to do simple math.

The associate helped us find everything that we needed and got us signed up with a rewards program. Our cat loves coming in to the store with us. The store is always well stocked and cleaned.When it was time to go to the register, the cashier knew exactly what coupons to look for and where to find them in the book that we were given during the adoption. With the coupons we ended up saving about $25 in the store. We bought the so fresh cat litter from the store and it actually smells a little like cinnamon. I've raised a lot of cats and the cat litter that they sell they actually works better then most of the other brands that I have tried. Today we went back and we got the same great service that we received the day we brought our kitten home. I would defiantly recommend petco if you are looking to adopt a pet, buy a pet, or just need pet supplies. From what I understand, they also have grooming and vet services there too. I will be making all of my pets appointments here for any future services that I need.

And they refuse to take him any longer. No context, no explanation of what happened, obviously he felt threatened, which makes me wonder what kind of people they have work in there. He is a golden retriever for God sakes, and has never attempted to bite anyone or any other animal in his life, however, somehow, Petco managed to make him do it. So they claim.
