As dog owners, we were completely communicative about our dog's situation and had approval from the vet that it was fine to have our dog groomed. Plus we personally went into Purrs and Gurrs ahead of schedule to see if our dog could have a groom, which they verified with a yes and put into their notes. However, the day of grooming, a different groomer there decided not to give him a groom and said they would never have said it was ok when in fact they did approve him. Their comment implied that we were lying. It was even in their notes on our account. They were rude, obviously have very poor customer service and bad communication skills with the way they spoke to us! They could have handled the situation better and figured out a solution considering we were long standing customers. read more

I have been taking my Tibetan Terrier and Berna Doodle to Purrs & Gurrs for nearly 3 years. Today, I took both dogs in for grooming and was notified that they only did half the work on my Berna Doodle. I was speechless. I have never had a groomer only do half a dog before. I was upset and when I went to pick up the half-groomed dog, they still wanted to charge me. So in summary, Purrs & Gurrs doesn't do the job and still expects payment. Stay away. Wow. Asked him to just give my beautiful puppy, my female mini Bernadoodle just a slight trim. He obviously shaved her, her cut on her ears, muzzle, top of her head, and even around her toes were uneven. Her toenails were barely cut, her eyelashes were trimmed which I did NOT want!! I could have done a better job trimming and saved 40 bucks (He told me 40 on the phone, then he said 48, and and when I told him he said 40, he charged me 40.00 I don't think this is his gifting. Some ppl can cut hair, and some are not good at it but do it anyway. I think he falls in the 2nd category. PS, plus, the cheap smelling stuff he sprayed on her was yucky too! Anakin really needed to be groomed. So I called Purrs And Gurrs because I knew they would take good care of him. We walked in and were greeted by Jocelyn. Jocelyn and Anakin hit it off immediately. Anakin had her picking him up and rubbing his tummy. Jocelyn suggested a service to help with dry skin when she saw him biting his paws. I really appreciate her paying attention and suggesting the service. Jocelyn called when Anakin was ready for pickup. Anakin looked so cute! So fresh and so clean. The groomer did a great job. I am glad she suggested we go shorter with his cut this time. I picked out his goodie bag of fresh onsite baked dog bones. They have a variety of flavors to choose from. I'm a 4+ year client of this place, And if the owner does not resolve this I might never return. The rude, lack of communication from the groomer stating "your dog is very dingy and dirty," was tasteless. The comment of it taking a while was an understatement when he was just groomer 5 weeks ago, yet it took apparently over 5+ hours to do. And not to mention showing up for the scheduled appointment and the groomer not even being there or showing up on time to be able to chat with her about what services we were going to do today. Then when my two dogs weren't ready at the same time, and it was stated they weren't getting picked up on different occasions when it's a 40 minute drive, she felt the need to say "well I drive 40 minutes to work too!" Yeah this is your job, you don't have to work here if you don't want to. Then give me another groomer who cares and likes her job and wants to work. Absolutely ridiculous. I needed to get my 8 month old Bernedoodle in due to some matting that had gotten a bad around her stomach, ears and mouth. (Also, her first ever hair cut) This was the first place that popped up/had availability but I made a mistake on not reading reviews...we were told over the phone for a puppy under 25lbs their cuts would be $35 for a full groom. They then told me it would be another $35 if there was any matting on the dog (which again I was okay with). We had to pay a $35 deposit over the phone that would go towards our groom. So, fast forwarding to day of her appointment and she was ready to be picked up, they told us it would be $75 (on top of the $35 deposit we already paid) due to having a full groom and matting which didn't make sense to me when they told me different information over the phone prior to the appointment? I feel like this was not worth $110 altogether and they could've saved at least some of her beautiful coat:( At the end of the day, it's hair and it'll grow back but I will find another place moving forward to get her groomed...before and after pictures posted below read more

Rarely do I leave bad reviews but this place is horrible at cat grooming and management is extremely rude (cut me off multiple times), argumentative and unprofessional. We asked for our long-hair cat to be cut super short all over and when we picked her up (so excited to see her)- they hadnt even touched the top or 85% of her, and had only cut her belly!! They said she was one of the best cats they'd had so it wasn't due to her behavior. She was wet, and then they lied saying we had asked for her to be kept long. And they felt like that service was worth $133!! The job looked like it was started and the groomer walked out shortly after. I wish I was exaggerating- pics posted below. The cat had some matting underneath so we were prepared for it to not look even, just wanted to start over with her fur. Groomer wasn't friendly either time and was complaining about animals in the back (brushed it off)- she wanted the cat medicated so spent $$ at vet for that (no big deal but adds to disappointment). When I spoke with management she never once apologized, continued cutting me off, was argumentative until she saw the pics but still never displayed decent communication skills with a customer! Save your time, save your money and save your disappointment! Find another groomer! I did get my money back but I preferred to have my cat groomed! Ps. A great Fishers find! The grooming salon is affordable and timely - usually always a 2 hour turn around (for a smaller dog, I have a Yorkie). My only negative to provide is when trying to make an appointment, I've received their voicemail with no follow up call on more than one occasion. Picked up both my dogs from grooming today and as were driving away I notice blood all over my backseat. I couldn't tell which dog it was coming from and no one noted anything when I picked them up. I call them to find out what happened and no answer and no returned call. I called two more times in the afternoon and left another message. Again, no return call. When I called to book my pups appointment, I answered their questions about his breed and size. She told me he would be $60. I dropped him off and they said he would be ready in 3 to 4 hours. I received the call to come get him, exactly 3 hours later. I was informed that they would have to charge me $10 more because it took them longer than expected due to him some matting?? He then said, so your total today will be $80. Now, I'm no mathematician, but $60 plus $10 doesn't equal $80. He said his base pay was $70 because he is a larger shih tzu. I said, I gave all of his info before booking and that wasn't what I was told. Needless to say...they didn't even try to make it right, so we will not be scheduling every 3 months. As long time customers of this salon, I want so much to like it and keep going, but after my grooming visit today for my two dogs, I will not go back. Over the past year, I have ignored the dirty environment, the lack of customer service or even a hello when dropping off and picking up, the groomers do not even try to connect with our dogs, but just grab the leashes and pull them back with them, the very high prices for dogs who are groomed very regularly, but after today and the more than 10% price increase - with no notice, We will not be taking our dogs there any longer. We drive from Greenwood just to have Kyler groom him which tells you the whole business treats us right, too. I had a far from pleasurable experience with Purrs and Gurrs. I had called in a couple times, talked with staff, and even brought my dog in once to see the place before letting them groom him. Everything went well, treats were reasonable price and my 7 month old miniature golden doodle loved their treats! (The only reason they get 1 star) I arranged for my wife to drop off Calvin (our dog) off for what would be his 4th haircut but his first and last from here. Not only did it take 4 hours before my wife got the phone call for the 5 minute drive there, but when she walked in she could hear him barking incessantly and when he was set on the ground he started peeing, he continued the whole way out and onto the sidewalk. Our dog was potty trained with no accidents by 7 weeks of age and when this happens, it was not a good sign. The cut was very uneven, choppy and not even what we asked for. I could have "trimmed and filed" his nails better by just breaking them. He had a lot of hair one ear and his sanitary areas somehow held more excrement than ever before. I doubt this is the first time this has happened because I have actually caught a dog at the entrance to the Kroger that had feces on him when the owner picked it up and it had a trail of urine behind it. When I got home, my wife was very upset and I went back to talk to them to ask for AT LEAST a partial refund. I left my name and number and haven't been contacted or compensated in over a month. It took us the entire weekend of working with our dog to re-potty train him because he kept going to the door every 5 minutes and whimpering only to go out and squirt a few drops and come back in. I am not impressed and would NOT recommend them to anyone. read more

I wish I could write a good review about this place. I needed to get my dogs nails done and I figured why not get her a little spa day. So, I called and explained that my dog does not like getting her nails trimmed. She is very anxious and will do anything to get away. I had explained this in great detail to the receptionist and she assured me that they had the resources to be able to get her nails done. Well, time rolls around to go get her and they tell me they could not do her nails after assuring me they could. I paid the $55 for a bath basically. When my dog came out the groomer didn't even acknowledge me to tell me any details. I got the vibe that they were not very knowledgeable about what they were doing and I was very disappointed. My husband & I took our 7 month old shorkie Bogey to Purrs & Gurrs this past Saturday for his very first grooming. Upon our arrival we were greeted by friendly staff who made both Bogey & my husband & I feel at ease. They took the time to talk to us about things, asked about Bogey, asked how we wanted him groomed, explained to us what we could possibly expect on his first time getting groomed & just took the time to get to know us before we just dropped him off & left. We both left feeling confident that he would receive excellent care. We were not disappointed at all! We called to check on him & were told he did good for his first grooming. When we picked him up we were BEYOND HAPPY with the job that was done. He looked AMAZING & was groomed EXACTLY how we wanted & actually even better then we expected for his first time. We did not find anything at all that we did not like about Purrs & Gurrs. Bogey looked so handsome, smelled great & loved the homemade treats that he received there as well. I absolutely adore this place. More importantly, my DOGS adore this place. The staff is excellent and very knowledgable about products and pets. Andrew and Cristi, the staff working on the day of my visit, informed me of the benefits of specific dog foods and were outgoing and friendly. I learned in our conversation that Cristi is the owner- what a refreshing experience; a smart, knowledgable business owner with charisma and friendliness! I switched the dogs over to a new food and they're doing GREAT on it. Lauren (or Laura? I'm sorry, I can't really recall!), the groomer, gave my Westie a beautiful hair-cut, exactly as we discussed, was also very friendly. She gave me suggestions to help keep the little guy looking good and in shape in way of grooming, and the price was just right. She also gave my Ridgeback a FURMINATOR process, an additional de-shedding treatment...no more little needles of hair in the car or house. I'll absolutely be back. This place is doggy heaven! They also have a new daycare area that is so cute and affordable, I'll be sending my pups there for playtime throughout the week. I have just moved to the area and was looking for a groomer for my golden doodle. Her hair was long but maintained with few bad spots. I got her back and she was shaved to nothing which was fine it grows back but it was super uneven and she had cuts all on the side of her ear. I again was not angry because it will heal but I called them to let them know so they could correct it and the lady told me the cuts were alergies. I took my cat to Purrs and Gurrs for a grooming. We get her shaved twice a year and her regular groomer was booked. Well that was my first mistake. Following her grooming, she was very disoriented and refused to eat. Upon further inspection, we realized that her whiskers had been cut. We took her to the vet immediately. They had to give her medicine to calm her and encourage her to eat. I called the business to attempt to remedy the situation. The person I spoke to acted concerned, but then basically told me my complaint was silly, because trimming the whiskers has no real effect. Either way, he told me he would speak to the groomer and call me back. Its been well over a week since that conversation. My cat was definitely affected! This was the worst experience I have ever had with a pet grooming service. I hate to leave bad reviews, but this is my only recourse. I tried to support a local business and was treated very poorly! The reason why I chose this place because I was following my previous groomer, Tammy. But unbeknownst to me she left, so this other groomer, LAURA, came out stating how she has 30yrs experience & that I shouldn't worry that she could do a good job on my Habanese & my Bichon Frise. OMG when I got my boys back it looked like LAURA started to use the clippers on my Habanese but they kept slipping out of her hand...he was so unevenly cut. Then to correct her problem it seems like she was like f'it let me shave him!! The Bichon Frise, who NORMALLY has a puffy round head, she made him look like a homeless puddle!! Of course being totally PISSED I spoke to the manager & the owner (who would NOT give me his name) their only solution was to try to "fix it" next time. When I demanded my money back I was told they DON'T GIVE REFUNDS! Still being very agitated to save face the owner said he'll ONLY pay for one dog & DIDN'T CARE IF I WENT ON SOCIAL MEDIA TO COMPLAIN ABOUT MY EXPERIENCE!!
