However, I want to highlight that management was extremely warm, professional, and quick in responding to my concerns. They took my feedback seriously, offered to fix the haircut free of charge, and made me feel genuinely heard. Service: I booked this haircut to prepare for my wedding, with a very straightforward request: keep my hair long with a softly rounded shape in the back (no visible layers, just light internal weight removal), and maintain long face-framing layers no shorter than my chin, with enough length to curl into soft side pieces for a half-up style. Unfortunately, from the moment I sat down, Vincent was disengaged and cold - no smile, barely any words, and minimal eye contact. He didn't clarify anything beyond 2 questions, didn't check in at any point during the cut, and stayed silent through most of the appointment. When he finished, he didn't offer any styling or even a mirror - I had to ask to see the back. The haircut itself was not what we discussed. The back was cut mostly straight across with only slight rounding at the far sides, and the front layers were cut almost all one length, about an inch above my chin, making them awkward and harsh - especially for wedding photos. When I tried to clarify by showing him an example of a softly rounded long cut, he didn't try to understand or collaborate - he was combative and dismissive, and clearly not interested in helping me achieve the look I needed for my wedding. Afterward, I shared my experience with management, and I was honestly impressed by how they responded. They were thoughtful, professional, and sincerely apologetic. They offered a complimentary re-do with another stylist as soon as I was available, and I truly appreciated their care and willingness to make it right. Location & Atmosphere: The salon itself is beautiful--modern, clean, and in a convenient area with a calm, boutique feel. My disappointment was entirely tied to the service, not the space or ambiance. Final Thoughts: This was the least collaborative and perhaps the rudest haircut experience I've ever had, and I've had my hair cut in NYC, London, Tokyo, Singapore, Miami, and SF. I have been here twice before and had my hair done by Macey. I really loved how she cut my hair. I had stopped going to her because it got a little pricey for me but it is honestly worth it. I recently had my hair cut by someone else and I hated it the second I saw it. I asked for blended layers and I got very choppy layers. I kept my hair in a pony tail the whole time until I came to see Macey again. I was scared that I had to cut my hair very short to fix it but she was able to salvage it and make it look beautiful again. I will never go to anyone else. I was so excited when I found this salon. It was close by, seemed luxurious and they carried the brand of color I needed. I also liked the personality of my hair colorist. However, this business is not well managed: 1. At the station where they worked on my hair, the water pressure was excessive. This is not good for your scalp, and also I was constantly getting water on my face. 2. The lady washing my hair was clueless about this issue, even though I asked for a towel to clean my face 3. She soaked my back completely when washing me. When I gave her a chance to dry me out, she left my hair down, dripping water. 4. In this salon when they raise the fee for your colorist, they do not let you know ahead of the time. You get the bill at the register. You would think a good management will let you know in advance. 5. At $200 touch up, I expect the experience to be free of annoyances, like not getting splashed with water. Not here. There is no manager. The owners are the hair stylists and they run the salon based on a very high regard for themselves but not the customer experience. It's been 5 months since I've last seen Vincent. Within those 5 months, I've been embracing and enjoying my natural wavy texture. She knows how to work with whatever you're going for, take it from someone who's gone from gold blonde to ash blonde over the years, with a few fun different color stops in between. Kristen will give you a "wow" hair! Pursuit salon is lovely, too, with careful, comforting thought put into every detail from airy openness and brilliant lighting from the floor to ceiling windows, to amenities like coffee, tea, water, and snacks, to friendly supportive staff, to testers of lovely fabulous smelling Oribé products in the changing and rest rooms. I got ktips done here. I was told it would not harm my hair but it did. It thinned it out and the ktips were stabbing my head once they grew out within 2 month. I paid $1000 plus tip $150. When I called to tell them how uncomfortable the Ktips were they literally acted as if they had no idea why this was happening. When I got them taken out it was clear the back of my hair was significantly thinner but the hair dresser Alex insisted my hair had so much "new growth" and my hair was healthy. She said it repeatedly and went as far to say go get it checked out so you can confirm (which is a form of gaslighting to the fullest) . I was charged $200 for ktips removal, $180 for a hair cut which she trimmed less than an inch and &100 for Malbon deep conditioning. When I called the next day once I had time to process this experience and made the investment I let the receptionist know that my hair in fact was damaged. She quickly explained that she had a conversation with Alex that morning and she confirmed my hair was growing and it was healthy. I told her that was not what I experienced, she literally said okay what do you want us to do in an very direct way. She had 0 empathy, patience and also chose to gaslight me (in which I let her know her response was off and weird). Is this how you treat all your customers? I paid this salon over $1500!!! Seriously train your staff. The haircut for $180...I was not informed how much I would be paying it was just charged. When I asked about the receptionist the next day about the haircut and why it was so expensive, she advised each stylist has different rates. But they did not disclose this to me at any point. The deep conditioning product Malbon. Alex literally said they do not have a line for thin hair because this brand doesn't make false promises like other brands do. She took her time and made sure I was happy and understood what she will be doing. You took her time step by step. I love that, no other salon or person that I've been to in the past has ever done that. Diana has many years of haircut experience. I completely trust her. She amazing. I've never had a bad experience at Pursuit.(and this is coming from someone who is extremely OCD about her hair) Starting with the hair stylists, you can't go wrong with any of the stylists-- especially Macey and Vincent. Both individuals are extremely detail oriented and I've never entered pursuit with a fear of getting a bad haircut. They execute perfectly and cannot recommend more. The colorists are extraordinary as well. Both Katie, Rocio and especially Cameron are wonderful-- especially with the use of bleach. Both use bleach minimally(only when necessary) and try their best to keep your hair natural, healthy, and looking absolutely perfect. My color usually lasts around 6 months before another cycle. Overall, I've been going to pursuit for over 4 years and cannot recommend more. Everyone is extremely hospitable and it feels like a family. Even though the price may be slightly steep, it is definitely worth the amazing hair cut/color!! read more

Went to pursuit Salon 4 week ago. It was probably one of fhe worst experiences getting a haircut that I've ever had. My hair looked okay styled but after I washed it looked like two different haircuts on each side. One side was much longer than the other. I specifically askdd them for a haircut that didn't need a lot of styling and that frames my face but they didn't get that at all. I called the manager to get it fixed and she treated me like it was my fault because I asked for shoulder length hair. I went back to get my hair fixed, but the stylist acted like she couldn't see it was uneven. She even ended pssing me to another stylist who said put some product in it and send me home.. I was unable to make it to my appointment due large accident on the freeway, I left early like usual but the accident added 30 minutes to my drive (I already live 45 minutes from the Salon). I called multiple times keeping my stylist updated, and let them decide when it was "too late" to get there, and they still charged me $300 dollars for a cancellation fee. I had no control over my situation and cannot afford to get my hair done now because of this fee. I also reached out to ask for a refund or any kind of understanding and no one got back to me. I understand that the cancellation fee is policy but the way it was handled was not great. Sad to say I will not be returning to this salon. read more

Pursuit is nearby and she did okay, I said she'll be my new hairdresser. She whispered to the receptionist - I made the receptionist aware that I didn't have my glasses, she said you just have to add a tip of 40%, 30%, or 20% and sign BUT she didn't say the price went up $65 or 20% to $395 from $330. I was SCAMMED. I couldn't figure out why the total was $474 vs $395 including 20% tip; I called and asked "how partial highlights w/ color are $65 = 20% higher" - If it was a mistake the salon should honor the price quoted - the receptionist said their rates went up in March but I said we are in December and called 4 days earlier and they confirmed the lower price. Partial Highlight w/ Base $395 +$79 tip=$474 - HAIRDRESSERS CAN CHARGE whatever they like HOWEVER to quote a price and NOT TO HONOR the quote it's UNETHICAL - Did Kristen increase her price because I came from SF, or talked about my trip to NYC and she thought I could afford it, or because I'm not her age - is it worth it to SCAM new clients and to lose future business. Called again to give them THE OPPORTUNITY TO FIX their mistake and the receptionist said that was the price and that it is okay to cancel future appointments. read more

I met these wonderful ladies through a client of mine. When I arrived at the salon I was intrigued with how beautiful this salon looks. When you come enter you are greeted by the front desk, you feel really comfortable because this salon is so beautiful, clean and modern. It is one of the prettiest salons that I have ever been to. Before I saw Claire, I had tape extensions that I had worn for a year. I always felt it showed in my hair after 4 weeks. When it was time to remove the tape in extensions I always felt like it ripped my hair out. I would always try to wear my hair in different ways so that the tape wouldn't stick out. Claire introduced me to hand tied extensions where she takes her time to hand-sew in my extension with beads. The amazing part of doing your extensions in the hand-tied method, is that you can flip your hair anyway you want, and it does not show anything. No one will know you are wearing extensions even if you put your hair up in a ponytail. If you love to get hair extensions or you have thin hair you need to try hand tied. Claire was so careful, experienced, and gentle with my hair which put me at ease to try something that I had never tried before. She knew what she was doing and she knows how much hair you need so you don't look like your wearing extensions. There are other types of extensions that she also does that are more like singles that makes your hair look really full. Thank you Claire! I am so in love with my new hair! I also decided to go dark. I wanted a dark brown color to make my hair look fuller and healthier. Whitney and Rebecca helped me pick out the perfect shade of brown to match my skin tone.
