At first I was super excited. The studio was beautiful. Unfortunately, my hair is turning out awful. The color was nothing like what I asked for and the shades of blue were so uneven across my head. I didn't even realize until I got in my car and looked at it with my phone in the sun. I had gone in for a nice greyish blue tone and I now have turquoise in the front and bright royal blue in the back. The colors are not blended like the ombré she had suggested. It has now been less than two weeks and most of the color has already come out, leaving me with orange-brown hair. I am super disappointed. I had never gotten my hair dyed and was so excited for this. I am very upset I wasted $300 on this. Update: Nicoll gave me a full refund and sincerely apologized. Super sweet person just unfortunate that the hair didn't work out. read more

I've been coming back to Nicoll in Los Altos for a hair cut for over ten years now and today I had my first keratin treatment. Once again, Nicoll did a great job! I trust her with my hair because I've never had a bad experience in all this time. She does my mom's hair, too. She is great at listening to what I want. She never cuts off too much. We have tried lots of different things over the years including a full head of rainbow highlights in college which was a lot of fun. She is also great company and fun to hang out with while she does my hair. She has friends of every age. Nicoll suggested keratin at my last appointment when I asked for help with frizz. I said I wanted something to make my hair glossy. I'm happy with the results and looking forward to saving time in the mornings with my new low maintenance hairstyle. Lucky for me it was not and that it was done by Nicoll. First, she listened to my needs since I like a Honey Blond which can be difficult to obtain. She was willing to take me darker or lighter but left the decision up to me. When arriving my hair had too many ash highlights and dull undertones. She lifted my natural color and then applied highlights. My hair has never look better or more natural.
