The cafe serves up all the drinks you can think of including smoothies and the prices are not bad. I spent $5 for a large dirty chai. Sometimes in the city I'm getting charged like $8 for something like that. The chai was like a 3.8/5 though lol not sure I would get it again but I've had the regular coffee and that's good. I also got one of their premade egg, cheese and ham sandwiches on a English muffin. I enjoyed it. Other things that I noticed that set this Whole Foods apart from others was that they had a sandwich stand and they had plenty of flower options.

Things I really liked: 1) Wide aisles and clean store. Not your typical grocery store layout - you sort of wind through the store like you do at Ikea. Rare in DC to find a store that isn't cramped with narrow aisles. Same for being spotlessly clean - though it's a new store so I hope they keep that up. 2) Friendly staff. And they aren't short-staffed. I have never had to wait long in line. 3) Great selection of products, especially if you like organic, vegan, fair-trade, that sort of thing. 4) Location, location, location. Right on top of Van Ness Metro! I think every Metro should have one, ideally two, grocery stores on top of it. I never loved the Giant across the street, so I'm glad to have this option. It is really handy for commuters to pick up thing before and after work. They have some sales you can find, but yes, as you might imagine - prices are on the higher side. Cheaper at Mom's. Nobody can beat Whole Foods price on avocados and a few things like that - they sell those at a loss to trick people into believing Whole Foods is cheaper. But if you compare normal products, Mom's is consistently cheaper and runs as many if not more sales.
