You know how you know what to do, but you don't do it because you're lazy and tired? *raises hand* We moved into our new home back in February. We had tons of junk even after purging prior to moving. I have no idea how my husband and I accumulated so much junk after six years of marriage. I take most of the blame because I have/had a bunch of teaching supplies and books I couldn't bear to part ways with. Anyway, once we got into our new home, I made these grand promises of organizing the garage once summer came. I wouldn't be teaching, I'd have time, blah, blah, blah. Summer came. Then, it was "too hot" for me to go into the garage. Mmmkay. I was born and raised in the Central Valley, and I've lived through 110 degree summers. This Peninsula weather was NOT too hot--I was just too lazy. Summer came and went. It hit me two weeks ago that Thanksgiving was coming, and I did not want a messy disorganized garage being judged by my meticulous mother and sister. After teaching all day, the last thing I want to do is organize a garage. Enter Kendall and Maria. I was referred to this organization duo via two people on the NextDoor app. I reached out via email, and THANKFULLY Kendall was very responsive. Yassss. I love when folks answer emails promptly. Back from a long reviews hiatus to give PTP some love! Look, y'all, I was hit with the Konmari bug last year when Marie Kondo's Netflix show came out--same as everyone else--and we got down with file folding, purging anything that didn't spark joy, finding new joy with containers, all of it! And even though we made great progress with editing our home down to a more manageable amount of stuff, we didn't necessarily know how to organize it in a way that was a sustainable system. And with a young toddler who's very quickly picking up on what her parents are doing, it felt important to me that we have a good organization system to instill good long-term habits in our kiddo. I reached out to several professional organizers; they all have different pricing structures, but generally they all have an hourly rate and a minimum number of hours per project. I found Kendall's rates to be very reasonable and competitive. It also doesn't hurt that PTP is on Instagram, so I knew that Kendall wouldn't just organize your space but also apply her modern interior styling on it and bring a little bit of that Pinterest board to your real life. We hired Kendall and Maria to organize our home office which also doubled as a partly random storage space. I gave some direction but mostly I just trusted them to help make it nicer, and my trust was not misplaced! The way they categorized, labeled, and gave everything a home made it really manageable and easy to scale for future family needs. It still feels like my home office, but organized and way elevated! YOU GUYS! (gratuitous Orlando Soria reference...) These women are magicians. I always thought I knew how to organize stuff. Turns out, I don't. I hired Kendall and Maria to organize my office/playroom. They took EVERY toy out, they then sorted, categorized, threw out the broken bits, gave every toy a home, and LABELED everything. They also style the room, using what I had to make the space actually look nice. Not like a gross playroom/toy store. My kids came home and said they felt peaceful in the room. Peaceful! They are 4 and 6 - any chance I get to calm them down, I will take it. I also felt about 10 pounds lighter! Months later, the room remains clean and organized because the kids know where everything goes. Once the play room/office was done, I realized the rest of the house needed WORK. So the magicians came back, hanging picture ledges, styling frames, making it look picture worthy! I know it seems a little luxurious to hire people to sort through your stuff - but it is not. After realizing that I probably spend less time in my daughter's room hanging out with her than I'd like - simply because of all the clutter and disorganization - I got the idea to hire Kendall and Maria (get this) as a *birthday present* for my almost 8-year-old. Kind of risky to expect an 8 year-old to forgo other presents in favor of a clean room, right? The end product though definitely surpassed expectations and my daughter is beyond thrilled. She has been positively giddy, thanking me multiple times a day and telling me she's got her dream room. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the talented ladies behind Put Together Place! I hired Kendall and Maria to help organize a large storage room at my business as well as give our kid's play area a much needed facelift - and boy did they deliver! The goal for the storage room was to better organize and group categories of things as well as create more functional storage for everything that needed to go back there (lots of retail, cleaning/studio/office/party supplies, baskets & jars, kids crafts, snacks, you name it!). Our storage room is now a dream. Retail is easy to sort and find, cleaning supplies are grouped together perfectly, and everything just makes so much more sense!
