I'm soooo appreciative Closet Factory! From consultation to installation, everything was quick and seamless. Chris Larose is really the face of Closet Factory and truly, the best person to have representing this brand. He came by and spent a couple of hours mapping out our closets, the right trimming and color. I felt like he was super thorough and answered all of our questions. Chris came and met us mid Feb; quoted installation for March 11, which we were fine with but asked to be put on a list if there's a chance to install quicker. We were completely wow'd when we got the call that they moved up our installation date to Monday Feb 23rd!! Quoted for 2.5 days but it really took 1.5 days to install 3-4 closets. Our installers were Hugo and Juan - they were super nice and accommodating, put down these mats in our place so to protect the floors. They brought in all the materials and got straight to work. So efficient and so nice, we really lucked out. At the end of installation, we noticed a mismatch on shelving length so Hugo waiting for the new shelves to arrive and installed before he left on day 2. Overall, the process was super easy, quick, and accommodating. I cannot recommend Closet Factory enough! We just wrapped up a multi-room project this evening, and the results are honestly stunning. We had a walk-in closet, several reach-in closets, cupboards, and a mudroom done--all of which look high-end and perfectly integrated into our home. The Design: Working with Debbie was a dream. She is incredibly detail-oriented. Her measurements were spot-on, and she was so thoughtful about the flow of the rooms--nothing feels cramped, even with the new storage. My favorite part? She figured out a clever way to keep our baseboards intact in areas where there weren't wall attachments. It was a specific request of ours, and she executed it perfectly. The Install: Samuel and Andreas were our installers, and they were total pros. They were respectful of the space, worked hard, and got everything finished right on time. They even swapped out a damaged door for a fresh one without us even having to make a fuss about it. We signed with Closet Factory in July 2025 with a very clear timeline that everything should be completed by September 2025. Instead, almost ONE YEAR later, we are STILL dealing with unresolved issues and wrong replacement parts. Honestly, this has been one of the most exhausting home project experiences I've ever had. The original installation already had a huge number of problems: - incorrectly cut / unfinished edges in the master closet - missing glass shelves - missing drawers and handles - cracked entry door panel - wrong replacement finishes - incorrect shelf heights - missing corner doors that were clearly part of the approved design - missing jewelry organizers/trays - missing fascia pieces and angled glass shelves What really frustrated me was that EVEN ONE MONTH AFTER the original September deadline passed, there were still major missing pieces and unresolved installation issues everywhere. Which includes - 29 handles - 8 master bedroom glass doors - 8 wood doors - multiple drawers - 10+ glass shelves And every single time someone came back to "fix" something, another issue showed up. On September 16, 2025, we even requested refunds for multiple incorrect doors because the replacements themselves were STILL wrong. Communication was another nightmare. Calls and voicemails would go unanswered for days or weeks, and most of the time we had to keep chasing updates ourselves. As of today, I have 61 back-and-forth emails with Closet Factory just trying to get this project corrected. And now today (May 12, 2026), after waiting months for replacement handles, they shipped handles in the COMPLETELY WRONG SIZE. The new handles are visibly much smaller than the installed ones and do not match the original design at all. At this point I honestly don't understand how there is this little quality control for a "premium" custom closet company. The craziest part is they already charged the full balance long ago, yet almost a year later we are STILL dealing with wrong replacement parts. This project caused months of delays, stress, repeated installation visits, and constant follow-ups just to get basic things corrected. For the amount of money charged, this level of execution and customer service is just unacceptable. read more

I tried searching Yelp for closet organizing companies and couldn't really figure out what the best choice was. Leaving Costco, I picked up a pamphlet and the rest is history. They have a high Yelp rating for good reason. Jess was my design consultant and he was such a joy to work with. Modesto and Oswaldo arrived on time and worked diligently to get the job done in about 5 hours (a giant master closet and another fairly large closet). Sometime during all this, Jess stopped by to check how things were going and to drop off pastries from (Paris Baguette - how did he know it's my fav place to get not-good-for-you but yummy treats???). Very impressed with this thoughtful and above beyond gesture. Crew left a clean house and yard (where they had to do their cutting of materials) and a very happy customer. When we started putting things back, one of the hanging areas was too short for the clothing and Jess came back the next day (a Saturday!) to fix the height. Through Costco, it's a great deal and you get a 10% cash card from them (a couple of weeks after the job is done). Beware, you have to pay the whole thing when you agree to the design, but this is paid to Costco and Closet Factory (not the crew) does not get paid anything until the job is done. read more

I had 3 design consultations with closet makers/installers in the area. My husband and I enjoyed working with Vasudha, our designer. In terms of pricing, Vasudha's design was middle of the road. We could've easily went with the cheapest design, but Vasudha's custom design was honestly the best of the 3. We were informed that it would take 2 days for the installation of 3 closets: 2 reach-ins ("studio room" and "play room") and 1 walk-in. Prior to the installation date, I coordinated with Vasudha on which rooms we needed to do on the first day. Day 1: We were told that the installers would come sometime between 8-10am. They showed up late, which was unacceptable to me. If you say you're going to show up within a timeframe, you've got to show up within the window. I called the San Carlos office for an update and left a message since no one answered the phone. At least I received a callback, an apology, and update that the installers were on the way. I saw the Closet Factory van pull up in the driveway, but no one came to the door until I walked outside 20 minutes after they parked and asked if they were ready to start. Appreciated that the installers took all the material out of the closets. They also had to remove the baseboard moulding in order to build the systems flush against the wall. From what I was seeing so far, I was pleased with their construction. I particularly liked how they built in a window for the light switch in the walk-in, which looked very clean. I noticed that they had to do a lot of custom work in the driveway. I thought that the pieces would be pre-built in the shop, which would save them more time. I believe there was some confusion as to what rooms the contractors were going to do first. When I did a walkthrough with the lead contractor, I mentioned that the walk-in and the studio room reach-in were up first. It seemed that he was under the impression that the play room and studio room were intended to be done first. I had explicitly said I needed the walk-in and studio room done on the first day. If anything, they could finish the studio room before the walk-in, because we need this room in order to turn over the play room for the 2nd day. They started my walk-in but finished half of it because they needed material. Ok, no biggie. They said I could hang things in the half of the closet that was finished. The lead contractor said they'll try to finish the studio room. I had to remind him that this is the one room that needed to be completed by today. I was assured that all three rooms would be finished by the next day, which was fine, but I still needed the studio room done. The guys came through on my ask and finished installing the system, but they still had to put the toe kick the next day. Not technically done, but my husband was able to relocate a majority of his stuff from the play room to this room. Day 2: The closet installers came through with getting all 3 closets done, and they even finished way before 4pm. They actually did a great job on 2 of the 3 closets. In the play room closet, my husband and I saw some flaws that did not match up to the original design. Specifically the installers missed a shelf and then screwed in another shelf that was not agreed to as part of the design. I contacted Vasudha, who helped to contact the installation team. I also set an email to the Closet Factory admin regarding the issues with the install. Following Monday: Irene from Closet Factory was super helpful in getting the service team involved. She was basically a liaison between us and the service team as she helped to relay messaging and coordinate schedules for the install team to resolve the issues. We would have had to wait a whole week for the same contractors, so we opted to work with a different set of contractors. Thursday same week: Closet Factory installers came by on time within the 8-10am timeslot. They worked directly with my husband on the changes and brought the missing shelf. He was finally satisfied with this reach-in. Despite the hiccups, I would still recommend Closet Factory. I loved Vasudha's design when she created it, and I'm still in love with the layouts now that we're putting stuff back into them. Closet Factory HQ's admin staff offered great customer service especially in addressing the challenges we had with the contractors' lateness and the closet install issues. Ultimately the installers did a solid job. read more

Update: another visit, more of my time wasted. I said it clearly. Replace the damaged hamper. Instead, white dots were placed over the damage. And that doesn't even completely mask the damage. While the owner sites a signature for project completion the damage was only discovered after the install. This is now the fifth attempt to have a completed closet. We ordered a custom display case/storage for the home office in where the closet was originally located. Leslie was our designer and she was awesome to work with. I loved working with someone who is not afraid to let me know their preference in design. I mean, she is the expert, so of course I'd wanna hear her opinion! She was also very responsive and helpful via text throughout the whole process. We started and signed the design process in mid-June, and the installation happened at the beginning of August. At first I was a bit worried about them having to carry up the finished product (or like portions of it), but they actually build it right there. They have the pieces with them, and I think they refined it a bit more. The garage did get a bit dusty from the sawing, and slightly loud, but it was interesting seeing the before and after. The movers cook care of getting rid of the initial (empty) closet + the original frame so I didn't need to worry about it. They did tell me usually they reserve 1.5 day to finish building, but a lot of time, it can get completed within 1 day. Well, in my case, they had to come back a third time because the lights weren't working properly. They said it was a vendor issue so we had to wait for a replacement part. This was a bit inconvenient since it is difficult locking the cats in for three days (they hate it, and it's a lot of non stop crying), and keeping them out from the home office was difficult as well, but good thing is they were pretty fast on day 2 and they came back for day 3 within a week. I took off a star because I could visually see some imperfection. I did ask them to address the easily fixable imperfections (Leslie also helped me communicated that I wished for replacement cabinet doors since there were scratch marks). For the 3rd day (a week later), it was a different set of installers. They were in charge of adding in the new light and completing the frame portion. They were also the one that I have to sign the completion paper with. I pointed out a few dusty part and some gap I saw, and both Manuel and Carlos did their best helping me polish it up. For the other non-fixable imperfections (ie; a set of knob not lining up perfectly, some uneven surface, black mark at the edge, etc), I could live with, and it's not that obvious from far. For the price, yes it's pricy, but after doing some price comparison, Closet Factory's options were pretty affordable. So overall, value-wise, I'm quite happy with the result. read more

Their service wasn't complete and they already fully charged me. I'm disputing with my credit card but they refused to return due the product has been installed yet incomplete. i was trusting this via Costco but custom products isn't dealing with Costco directly!!!!
