I was in site 27 which was longer than it looked on the map or in the photos. I could see the creek from there. I'm not sure there is a bad site there...some had more shade, depends what you like. There are levels...I don't think you can see the water from the upper campsites, but more sun and partially sunny sites up there When alerted to a broken and stuck branch that could have been a problem, the rangers had it taken care of within half an hour or so. Staff was friendly and drove through regularly. The peacocks were fun... fearless, too, so we got a good look at those gorgeous birds. Quail, woodpeckers, a variety of birds. A great place for naps.

While we have used different outfits lately - we had a great experience with Russian River Adventures a few years back, so we came in excited to return. Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing, mainly due to poor planning by the staff. We booked for four people on a Thursday - my wife, myself, and our two teens (14 and 16)--with the expectation that we'd have two boats, which is standard for this group size. However, the team miscounted the boats that morning. When we pointed this out, instead of fixing the mistake, they pulled us aside and crammed all four of us into a boat intended for three, squeezing in an extra seat to make it "fit." Visibly frustrated, the team promised to speak with the owner and make it right (it was two high schoolers running it that day). I didn't argue and wanted to at least try to have a good time and not be that Dad. The result on the boat? A very cramped and uncomfortable setup that made the inflatable much harder to steer and navigate--especially on a 9-mile river trip. This wasn't the experience we paid for or expected based on our prior trips. The staff seemed more focused on moving us along rather than making it right. Still haven't heard from the owner. We'll likely explore other options next time around. Disappointed to see the service slip like this.

We pulled into the campground where the late 1/2 day rafting tour meet up spot was. It was a lovely place. The little store there had the regular small campground items and surprisingly a good selection of craft beer! I tried the Outlaw pilsner from Colorado (it's the name of one of my favorite line dances hee hee), it was a good one! The trip and our raft guide, MJ were great!! we did the 1:30pm-5pm trip, the amount of time was just right. Only bummer is that we waited a good 45 minotes at the end to be towed back to the pick up spot. Everyone Was done and ready to get off the water. I think if you could at least pull your rafters to a beach were they could wade in the water would be better than us sitting in the sun waiting in the sun. All and all, I would definitely recommend it and do it again:)

We were gifted a beautiful day on the river with multiple sightings of wildlife including fish jumping, ducklings, geese, and even a bald eagle! The best part was getting to see the kids do something, get scared, have a blast doing it, and then ask to come back for more intensity next time. I really appreciated the guides for their hospitality, humor, and kindness. However my main piece of feedback would be a friendly reminder that nature and outdoor recreational activities are a form of escape and respite from our every day life, so being more mindful of the topics of conversation brought up during the ride is very important to the atmosphere.
