I had a root canal Friday- which was…read morealready a stressful experience for me but the directions for the sedation were not clear and I took my sedation meds at the wrong time apparently. We made it through the root canal and I went home and slept. When I woke and my numbing had wore off, I was having intense pain still with cold that was lingering. I called the after hours line and the man I spoke with made me feel like it was no big deal. I asked if a root may have been missed, he said that's not possible(which I found to be a weird answer). He said I need to give it time and they would get back to me next week. He didn't specify a time, made no priority to get me scheduled. I asked if it would be Monday, he said he thinks the dentist who worked on me was not in till Tuesday. He told me that narcotic pain meds would not help my pain at all, only ibeprofen would. I was already taking max amount ibuprofen and Tylenol and still in so much pain. I insisted on stronger meds which he eventually agreed to. They do in fact help significantly. It's now Monday and I've been in pain all weekend and barely was able to sleep last night. I am supposed to wait till tomorrow I guess to hopefully hear from someone? I'm a mother and I work and this pain in my tooth has been going on for a couple weeks now and I'm just feeling so wore out from the care and the run around I feel like I'm getting. I have had other root canals and never had pain after. I called to get into the endodontist I went to for my last one because it was a much better experience overall. I'm giving two starts because the endodontist who worked on me was nice in person.

I haven't dealt with any pain during the procedures, and not much pain after (im sure this varies from person to person, but nice for me!) and as far as my teeth are concerned, they are in good hands here. They were able to fit me into the schedule, and thanks to a cancellation, I had the procedure done the very same day as my consultation. The doctor recommended removing just one tooth, believing it was the source of all the pain -- and he was right! He saved me from having another tooth removed unnecessarily, which I truly appreciated. Everyone took the time to answer all of my questions and address my concerns, so I felt completely at ease going into the procedure. They polished my teeth before they were cleaned and the hygienist did a horrible job. After the visit they told me I have EIGHT cavities. They were going to charge me over 2k!! I have not had a cavity in 10 years. After complaining about my cleaning I chose to go have my work done elsewhere. It was a HUGE PAIN to have them send my X-rays to another dentist. When I went to go get my work done, the new dentist informed me that I only had one small cavity and they didn't know why they were trying to drill 7 additional holes in my teeth when there were no other cavities!! They were completely trying to rip me off! Crooks! I am filing a complaint with the better business bureau.
