Ericka performed the majority of my initial appointment to prepare for my root canal, and it went by quickly and efficiently. She's a pleasure to talk to and she clearly explained my case and alongside Dr. West, explained the plan for the root canal My root canal performed by Dr. West was ENTIRELY pain free. I was very comfortable during the whole procedure and could tell that he was being very thorough. It is evident that he takes tremendous pride in his work, and he has a beautiful office and practice to show for it. It's definitely no accident that his team is comprised of the kind, communicative people I had the pleasure of interacting with; dental work/root canals can be stressful, but I never once felt stressed in his team's care. The billing department was simple to work with and handled my insurance seamlessly. Rio called me to assure all my information was correct and to had a quote of my bill in time for me to review before my appointment. She had clear numbers outlined for me and helped me devise a simple payment plan for my treatment. From walking in to leaving, my appointments here have been so smooth and professional. I was originally referred from my dentist at Stadium Dental and am so happy that I scheduled with Dr. West!

I am so glad Lakewood Endodontics is on the provider list. Couple years ago I had to have a root canal. Now this year I needed another! My Medicare insurance covered both. Your TOOTH HURTS or you would not be searching I bet for an endodontist. That means you want an appointment NOW so to speak. Cool thing this office does is even though they set a date for me I asked to be called if any cancellations or reschedules: they called the next day and I gladly went in a day after first calling. That service is great unlike other medical providers who require you to call in , be on hold, then on hold to see if any openings, and then answering yes or no! Dr Sean Wittner whole office is ten! Upon his inspection, a root canal was needed. Upon the call back I proceeded to be seen even faster! through Endodontist Lakewoods Sean Wittner set an appointment for follow up portion of the root canal too to accomplish in two visits but the first one stopping the pain. Each of my visits, 100% that is, either several minutes before my scheduled time or within 2 minutes I was led back to a room and services commenced immediately (I.e. not waiting for another time period but rather services right away each time). His staff appears as though they love working there and genuinely happy and I told Dr Wittmer that directly as it's so true: it puts a patient in a great mood seeing that. Dr Wittmer explains exactly what he is going to do and shows the visual screen to explain. His quiet voice but stated communications with his assistant Misty in the room also helps reduce any stress too as well as listening to my questions. The rooms look professional also with two toned color schemes and crowns atop doors and windows gives a relaxed professional feeling once you enter the building ( instead of one drab color and blank walls). I hope to use this office the rest of my life if I ever need another root canal as he has performed those twice now perfectly without ever having to correct anything. Give yourself a chance to receive great services too by giving him a call. Address is 10904 Gravelly Lk. Dr Sw, Lakewood Wa 98499 Ph 253 589-3636. ( or go elsewhere and risk a place sitting and waiting, then into a room for sitting again, and wonder who is treating you that day). Hope I helped your desire to give Dr Wittmer a chance to impress you too! Every other office should see how friendly yet efficient this office is. It's worth driving many miles as a sore tooth needing a root canal is bad enough, so offset that with caring professional friendly endodontist.

Then they scheduled a root canal that afternoon after the exam. It had calcified due to lack of care from my previous dentist. It didn't hurt. They explained everything. They "loved the challenge." Night and day, the treatment towards me as a human was wildly different from Brite Now. I don't think it's fair when insurance for educators pegs you with . One visit to this dentist was a microcosm of everything that is wrong with the health care industry…read morethese days. I visited from out of town and came to see the dentist as an emergency patient as I was in some discomfort. The visit should have been a consult with the dentist so I could articulate the problem followed by tests and diagnosis. Not here. Off the bat the receptionist presented me with an almost $400 bill for tests that needed to be done before I even got face time with the dentist. My spidey sense told me that something was off here. I should have just walked out. After pushing back on tests that would have been done on teeth that do not even exist I was told "well just pay now and we will refund later". I was therefore forced to pay for a $150 cone beam scan that was not needed nor did the dentist ever even look at! When all was said and done in the end I paid $300 out of pocket for a 5 minute consult with the dentist who told me that she was really not the right dentist to treat me in the first place. Dr Chen needs to understand that money does not grow on trees. I get it. Let's run a battery of tests on patients so we can get them in and out and on to the next. The cost to excessive testing comes from the patients wallet and this is why my visit was a complete waste of time and money. Dr Chen needs to seriously evaluate the patient experience from start to finish and make changes accordingly. She needs to start by figuring out what the patient needs and what tests to run that can further the patients treatment. Doctor was very kind and had a good manner but I would never ever come back

I canceled my appointment with her and consulted my dentist turns out, I did not need a root canal. now waiting for my permanent crown to be made. have never felt such a disconnect with a professional as I did with her.

I recently went to see Dr. Wittmer after a referral from my dentist to get a root canal. Note:…read morethis is the 2nd time I've gone to see him; I went to him for a separate root canal in 2018, which he successfully treated. However, this 2nd appointment I had with him was a totally different experience: Unfortunately, I have genetic periodontal bone loss issues, but with regular treatment & maintenance, I've been able to keep all my teeth. Therefore, I knew ahead of time from my dentist, that getting a successful root canal done on this particular tooth would be more challenging than when Dr. Wittmer did a root canal 8 years' ago on a different tooth. The 1st thing I noticed when I walked in was their almost rude insistence I pay for any Xrays they'd need to take before I left their office, vs giving me a pleasant, normal greeting to their office. My Xrays were very expensive b/c they had to do specialized 3D Xrays to properly see the amount of bone loss / find out if there was sufficient bone available for the root canal to be done. After viewing my Xrays, Dr. Wittmer was extremely curt & totally unempathetic in bluntly telling me I did NOT have enough bone available for him to do a root canal. He also didn't give me any kind of helpful or encouraging follow-up advice or information, with regard to best next steps, or what other possible options may still be available to me to save my infected tooth. As I was headed back to the front office, the woman at his front desk again promptly reminded me about paying for the Xrays before I left. It felt like ALL they cared about was getting paid immediately for their overpriced Xrays, instead of showing any empathy & concern for me, the patient. Leaving his office, I was thoroughly demoralized & upset, & unsure of what to do next. To kick it off, the very next day, I received a 2nd bill in the mail for additional Xray charges, which was the icing on the cak To summarize: Not wanting to lose the tooth, I persevered & found a wonderful Tacoma periodontist, Dr. K, who after a complete examination, was able to get me an immediate referral to "her" endodontist Dr. Elias, a highly skilled, competent & compassionate endodontist; due to Dr. Elias's prior consultation with Dr. K, she already concurred there WAS enough bone for her to go ahead with a successful root canal, so my tooth could be saved. I ended up paying almost $300 for Dr. Wittmer's Xrays, which were a complete waste of money, as they can't be RE-used by any other dental professional. Fortunately, I found out there are much better qualified AND much more compassionate endodontists out there than Dr. Wittmer - I definitely do NOT recommend him.
