I am an escape room addict that needed her escape room fix on a trip to Tahoe. I've probably done about 80+ rooms by now and can you pretty accurately whether a place is worthwhile to visit. This would be great for beginners/intermediate players but not necessarily a place that is a must visit for traveling enthusiasts. We completed the Egyptian themed room with 0 hints, 6 people in about 30-35 mins or so. This is rated their hardest room. I would say this is medium to medium easy for enthusiasts since there really wasn't anything novel in the room. It was heavy in v1/key & locks mechanics with some tech thrown in. Overall, the room was done well but the room needs some TLC as it looked very old. The game master was very nice and accommodating! A+ for staff! read more

Oh my gosh we had so much fun!!!!! We did the Cabin puzzle and didn't make it to the second room but that's ok it was just the two of us and we had never done this adventure before. I would highly recommend this to any group of 3 or more. More brains were definitely needed on the quest!! lol Sabrina the manager was so gracious and very kind to us as we were unable to finish the puzzle in one hour and told us for just two people who have never done this before we did pretty well. The current room, The Bunker, was way too easy. We finished in half the time. We asked if we were the fastest and were told there were other groups faster than us. My family has done about three other escape rooms and the family that we were with had never done any. I could tell we were flying through the puzzles from the beginning. It was essentially just one room and the puzzles were pretty easy to figure out. If this is your first time doing an escape room it is probably a good initiation. If you have done a few, I'd probably skip it. read more

We had a great experience here, we were looking for something to do on Saturday night and found this on the Tahoe South list of things to do. I found the price very reasonable compared to other escape rooms I've been to, and was happy to see that due to COVID, they will not pair you with any other group. We were able to book a last minute time slot and do the Lost Cabin room. The puzzle room was very intricate and detailed, I was amazed at how involved it was. It was a good difficulty level for us as beginners. We were able to complete it, but we did use a few hints. The game master who gave us the storyline and hints when we needed was also great. Albert and Tyler were awesome, and the highlight of our trip, yes, even with Covid. On Thanksgiving Day, Heavenly closed due to high winds. My son and I came and did one of their rooms (with Albert hosting). We liked it so much, we came back the next day (with Tyler), and after defating that room, booked on the spot to come back again for the last and most difficult room. Sadly, we didn't make it out alive, but we will definitely be back. Everything around here seems to be a tourist trap - overpriced and underdelivered - but Puzzle Room was a welcome exception. The Puzzle Room is so much fun. We went to the The Bunker Room at MontBleu and had an awesome experience. Dakota was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. We were able to escape with 8 minutes to spare. We also did the Lost Cabin at the other location next to CVS, and that was definitely more difficult than The Bunker Room. The 2 guys at this location were very helpful as well. This was my friend's first trip to Tahoe. First time doing an escape room. I can't wait to do more. Very awesome staff. We've actually been going to this escape room venue for a few years now and they're always top notch. To boot, they have escape rooms that are perfect for huge groups, up to 12 people! The best part is though that they were totally understanding of our need to cancel as a storm was brewing and we had to cancel our reservation in the less than ideal 24 hour time period cancellation policy they had in place. We did the 'Bunker' at Mont Blue Tuesday night.. finished with 20 minutes to spare. Although it made this mom feel like a dummy.. it was great fun and our 14 & 16 year olds loved it too! Went over to the location next to Lucky Beaver and CVS on 50/Lake Tahoe Blvd. today, to do the 'Under Ground/mining' room (which is one 'key' harder than the Bunker, but just as much fun. We couldn't get the 'code' machine to work on the last task..so we didn't make it out alive!!! These are really well thought out and not 'kids' stuff. Sabrina who directed our escape room was a sweetheart and honestly i woulda paid the money just to hang out with them even if there was no escape room lol!! The staff here are great... This would be our first time here, even though we've been to the puzzle room in Reno a few times before. This is located in the basement, pretty mysterious. You walk in and it looks like a hookah bar. It's pretty cool how you could bring in alcoholic drinks during the escape room. Staff were so nice and accommodating. We brought family from out of state and they had so much fun! It was pretty difficult for us to do a few things, since we were so uncoordinated. We picked the Lost Cabin, which was to investigate my uncle's abduction. The room was roomy, extremely detailed, and advanced. They even let us bring our belongings in the room, just no photographs or videos inside. They do take pictures of your group after for a souvenir! Such a great way to spend 60 minutes of your life. Definitely worth the $29/person. You will really feel as if the situation was real, and keeps your mind going. Try escape rooms, if you haven't. You won't regret it! We had a birthday party for my daughter a group of eight of us and it was a blast. Me and my friends went and tried this today. We did the Below Ground room. It is the hardest room they have according to the general manager. Only 20% of people can complete it. We were a group of 6 people. Each puzzle room contains 2 rooms to figure out.You are given a walkie talkie that they talk to you through and give you clues to help you figure it out. You can ask for more clues if you get stuck. I will not give you details of the room since I do not want to give away secrets but it was very mind wrecking trying to figure it out and work together. We got out with only 21 seconds left. There is a one (1) hour time limit per puzzle room. You are not allowed to take photos in the room. They do not want to give away secrets of the rooms. :-) They can see and hear everything you do while you are in the puzzle room. ********(When we went the prices were as follows. Prices could change. Call to make sure they haven't changed if you are worried about it. )They give a MILITARY discount of 10%. Children 5 and under are free. $29 a person. If you want to take a group (up to 7 people) Costco sells a group game for $80. That covers up to 7 people in a group. You are basically renting the room for an hour.******** They are located by the CVS. Parking in the back of the building. The entrance is in the front of the building. Easy to find, off the hwy near many of the popular casinos in South Lake Tahoe. Staff was super friendly and we were excited to try something we had never done before. This review was specifically for the Bunker in the Montbleau Casino. So our host was actually really good and enthusiastic and friendly. The puzzles themselves were decently challenging and unique. My problem was with the puzzle room itself which was seriously low in production value. I've done a few other puzzle rooms in other cities and they've always felt high production value and very immersive. All of the props in this room felt very cheap and didn't take you into the environment. Also the room was very small. (We completed the room so we know we didn't miss out on any other rooms. It was just a very small room with not very impressive props.) And there was no music or sound effects at all!! Everytime someone walked by the outside door talking, you could hear them and it would take you out of the experience that you were supposed to be trapped in a bunker. The puzzles themselves were decent and the host was great. But the room itself leaves something to be desired. read more

Absolute highlight of my Tahoe trip. Like many people reading this review you may be where I was and thinking should I spend my money on a slot machine or try out the puzzle room... Do both, but make sure the puzzle room is first. They allow for just two people to attempt to escape without charging extra or pairing you with others. From what I have seen this is rare and extremely appreciated. My boyfriend and I did the bunker room which is located at the Mont Bleu (Bally's) and were actually able to make it out! The room was challenging without feeling impossible. Carefully thought out and clues unlike ones I had seen before. Really cannot say enough how much I enjoyed this, and cannot wait for their new rooms to be finished. I will be back and that you can bet on. read more

I'm giving this company 5 stars strictly because of the staff and The Lost Cabin puzzle room. My family (ages 11 to 50) had a great time trying to escape. The location is convenient but my goodness, is was a pit! I could tell that the company tried their best to overcome the location's downfalls (smelly basement 100%) and the customer service made up for it. I hope they find a better physical address, but for the time being, we will return to escape The Bunker in The Montbleu building when it opens. read more

I will do my best not to give away any secrets, but will try to let you know what our issues were. This is the third escape room I've done. The first two, I really enjoyed. They were challenging, but steady progress was made. We almost escaped both. This one sounded promising. The guy who took the reservation was very friendly. I told him we had 7 people looking for a moderately difficult game. He gave us a 10% group discount (nice!) and suggested his "favorite" room. Check in went smoothly. The background story was well delivered. We then went into our room. They don't have anywhere to hang coats, so he told us to hang them on a small coat rack in the corner of the room, which was right behind a chair. That, it turns out, was the first issue for us. 40 minutes into the game, we were given our first hint. It was something that we would have figured out within the first 5 minutes, if our coats hadn't been put where they were! More than half of our hour needlessly wasted! Once we got that piece of the puzzle, we quickly solved that room (fun puzzle BTW) and gained access to the second room. As it typically goes, we figured some things out, and realized we needed some more parts for others. Several of us spent a good portion of the remaining time solving a particular puzzle. We thought we had it figured out, but nothing happened. With about 5 minutes left, we felt stuck, so asked for another hint. The gal on the walkie talkie asked us if we had found a particular prop. (I thought she was watching us and would know.) She told us what to do next, but again, nothing happened. When time ran out, she came in to escort us out. She did not immediately tell us how to solve the room- we had to ask. It turns out, that there are two ways to reveal a set of clues, and we had already done one way. The puzzle we thought we had solved was redundant! We had wasted another 10 minutes on a puzzle we didn't need to solve. And the second hint where nothing happened? She said that sometimes it doesn't work right unless you push harder. After that, there were about 4 more steps before we could escape, so we felt frustrated and defeated. Then she tells us that we did good, because many people do not get past the first room. I said I thought this was supposed to be "moderately difficult". She said it was the most difficult of their 4 escape rooms, and that it took her 2 hours to get out. 10% group discount- good. Room suggestion- bad. And between not having a place to put coats, guide not paying attention to our progress, redundant puzzles, and things not working right, we wasted 75% of our time there. Valley of the Kings room was mighty fun with just the right amount of challenge. On top of that, the attention to detail and effort put into the art, decor, and lock mechanisms are phenomenal! There's even a puzzle that utilises a sense of perception that I don't think we've experienced at any other escape room before, and we've been to a decent number of them. Shout out to Dakota, our host, who was super courteous and accommodating. We probably couldn't have figured out one of the puzzles without his hint, and he made the whole experience at Puzzle Room Tahoe that much more exciting! Look forward to playing the rest of their rooms! Ps. Google Maps direction was confusing, but you can access this business directly on highway 50 through a glass door to the right of CVS. We had such a great time at Puzzle Room Reno, that when we headed to Tahoe, and had some downtime one night, decided to do "The Bunker" at Puzzle Room Tahoe. Keep in mind, this new room is not in the same location as the other Tahoe rooms, but in the Mont Bleu hotel, which is just fine. Our gamemaster,. Richard, did a good job of helping us when we needed it. We solved the room with about 17 minutes to spare, as opposed to the Valley of the Kings in Reno, which was much harder. For some reason, this one was a few dollars more for the same group. Overall, a really good time and we really have found we enjoy Escape/Puzzle rooms! read more
