My fiancé and I are a lover of escape rooms, so when I discovered there was one so close to us, I had to go check it out. I called earlier in the day to make sure that we could do a room with just the 2 of us because we love being the only 2 because we work well together. The guy who answered the phone was super nice and friendly and answered all my questions. We booked a time for later that evening which he told me he wouldn't be there but another employee would be but he wished us luck! When we got there, I was slightly turned off by the employee's condescending attitude right off the bat. I jokingly said we were pros before going in to which he kind of rolled his eyes and said "we'll see". Kinda rude but whatever, I brushed it off. We did the room and came so close to escaping, but missed the last puzzle and 1 item that we didn't see. The employee came in to show us what we missed, but again, was very condescending. I said "damn, If we just found this sooner we probably would've made it out, etc" to which he responds with something like "maybe, but not many people can figure out the logic of this puzzle, etc." and went on to say how we didn't make it to the 3rd room in their suggested time frame. Needless to say we were pretty turned off by the experience at the end. We've been to MANY escape rooms all around and EVERY single employee I have encountered at these places have been very friendly and encouraging telling us how well we did, etc. This guy was very discouraging. The room was great though! Plenty of great puzzles that had us stumped and working hard. I will probably return back to complete the other puzzles, I just was very disappointed with the condescending employee and hope that he could be a little more friendly and encouraging to future guests, because I know the both of us left there very bummed out. read more

This is a great escape room place! My teenage sons and I did the Wizard Realm room. We asked for the 8/10 difficulty level, used 3 clues and we finished the room with 3.5 minutes to spare. We have done other escape rooms before and my boys are very clever at escape rooms so I worry about a room not being challenging enough and finishing early. When we pay this much we want to be challenged for almost the full hour. This was perfect!! The theme was great, the puzzles were fun and Nick was a great host. The props were of good quality and the rooms looked really good, complete with ambient lighting and music. We liked that they only give you clues if you ask for them. My only suggestion would be to have the end of the game include a lock on a door that we can exit out of or something, or have all the lights come on at once because it wasn't immediately apparent that we had finished the room except when we looked around it said it on the screen that we were 100% done, which it took us a minute to "get" that we were done and was a smidge anti-climactic. Some visual cue besides the screen would only improve the experience, which was a super fun one despite this. We also chose this place because their prices are on the competitive side, where some area escape rooms can be pricier than this. Since it is the era of Covid-19, we also appreciated the MANY safety precautions they are taking to keep everyone safe. We felt very safe and were not exposed to any other patrons while there. They only allow one party in the lobby at a time, the room appeared clean, Nick explained how they are sanitized after patrons, and there was hand sanitizer gel and wipes everywhere for use. We will be going back to do another room there for sure! So fun! read more

A group of us did "Missing Doctor" - we managed to escape with about 5 minutes and change remaining. The puzzles within the room were challenging but not maddening - teamwork is the key but knowing when to split up is also important. Great team building event for coworkers, but an awesome time for friends and family as well. Nick the game master was very personable and seems to love his job, which is important because he puts a lot of thought and creativity into the rooms and is always thinking up new ones. read more

Fantastic escape rooms!! We did both The Interview and The Missing Doctor. Lots of interesting clues and puzzles that I have not seen in other rooms I've done. The Interview was doable with no clues and we were stoked to get 3rd place for the month with 17 minutes left. The Missing Doctor was definitely more challenging and I would recommend at least 3 people, we escaped with only 2 minutes left and 3 clues used... definitely a close call. Can't wait for them to open up another room :) staff was personable, would highly recommend! read more

We came with our client's for a fun outing and it was better than we all even expected! It was a really great team building activity, we had a ton of fun doing it and everyone had something to do in the room. When we needed clues, the gentleman running it was there to immiedately help. In the end we solved it with only minutes to spare and we talked about it all night. I'll be coming back to try the other rooms! read more

I've been to many rooms throughout the east coast. The Interview room at puzzle theory is one of the best I have ever done. The puzzles were varied, creative, fair, and plentiful. We went in a team of 4 and successfully completed the room with a few minutes to spare. Two people in our party were brand new, and they had a blast. I will say that this is challenging room- a party of 2 will have a very hard time finishing due to the sheer volume of puzzles, but a clever pair could pull it off. The hint system is great, offering unlimited hints but after 3 you get excluded from the leaderboard. Strongly recommend, will go again. read more

My husband and I have done a handful of escape rooms. At Puzzle Theory, we did the first two rooms of the Dr. X trilogy, the Interview and the Missing Doctor, and they were some of our favorite escape rooms to date! There were tons of fun and cool puzzles to do. I liked how there were lots of different interactive puzzles and my favorite part was a special souvenir for solving the room! The first room was great for even just 2 of us, with a variety of puzzles that complement our different puzzle/game skills. The 2nd room would be good for at least 4 people and harder for just the 2 of us, but it had a great consistent theme throughout and lots of interesting objects that you wouldn't see elsewhere. We will be sure to come back when they open the 3rd room in the trilogy! read more

This was Ana amazing escape room find! My family and partner spontaneously decided to go for a night out and try an escape room. The room was overall spectacular, so many twists and puzzles! For two people in our group it was their first time going to an escape room, and they were blown away. By far it was the best escape room I have experienced. The staff was super cool and friendly and I wish I could have caught her name, but she absolutely rocked it late at night in a Saturday night! Would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for some spontaneous fun! read more

Played 4 escape rooms here. The last one was Jungle Dimension. Think Jumanji meets escape room. It was a lot of fun. We had 5 people and it worked out well. They played theme music thoughout and it had both analog and tech puzzles. It was a great time. I would hightly recommend Puzzle Theory if you are looking to have a great time for an hour then spend the next few hours after "debriefing" on everything everyone did in the room. The best part is all rooms are private so when you book it they don't add random people to your reservation. read more

It was okay. It's very lock oriented. I've been to other puzzle rooms that were more interactive. I liked the puzzles but found all the locks got old after a while. I was in a small group and I've only been with big groups before. Perhaps it wasn't as exciting as I was hoping because I'm used to bigger more dynamic rooms. read more

Puzzle Theory is located off of Route 5 in the industrial part of time. The building is an unassuming office building from the outside, but inside it is a fun engaging environment. My husband and I did the first room with our friends and finished in 55 minutes (they only give you an hour to complete). We have done many escape rooms of varying quality and this one was by far the best experience. The room requires that you engage with the mysterious Dr. X through a TV screen and is a bit punchy. The puzzles were not all sequential so you could have multiple people working on different puzzles at the same time, which both helped and sometimes confused us at the same time. This was a great night out and we will definitely be back to try out the second room. read more
