Food here was good. A bit on the expensive side so I would suggest lunch which is a cheaper option. I chose the PYRO Beef Melt - Thinly sliced Alberta roast beef, house made jalapeño cheese fondue, caramelized onions on a ciabatta bun, and served with fries or mixed greens. However I upgraded for the soup. It was really filling. I can't say that the roast beef was a stand out, and I would have liked to see more cheese fondue. The onions were lovely. My friend had the same thing. Looking at the menu, there is a lot of things I would like to try including the beef brisket. Service was not great especially considering that we were close to the only ones in the restuarant. I am miffed when the staff are snotty. It was pleasant enough inside. Classic and stylish. I had know idea how good this restaurant is. My friend invited me and I'm really glad that I could have such a great experience! The place is well designed and the staff are all friendly and helpful. I just ordered what my friend recommended and they were all amazing. This place is my number one place for steak! I haven't had any steak juicier than here. The place is a bit noisy but very cozy and has a friendly vibe! About the drink: don't forget to order some of their drinks! I ordered the Pyro and it was great! I wish I wasn't driving! I've been here a couple of times in the past year or thereabouts and each time, I am wowed by the quality of the food. The service itself might be occasionally a bit slow (good but slow). The space is huge and doesn't necessarily have a lot of character but the food is really flavourful and I have been happy to bring friends here to enjoy it. Prices can be a bit much depending (and there is no kids' menu) but my kid really likes the food here and the quality makes the price excellent. There are a good number of mocktail options available too which my kid appreciates (as do I). Because it is attached to the L'oca grocery store it is hard to not want to shop at the grocery store when you come for a meal here (which is also pretty convenient if you need groceries or something too). read more

Had a company dinner there some time ago. After hearing the server droning on about how amazing their steaks were, most of our group ordered steaks. They were sub-standard (quality of meat AND the cooking), and that's being polite. So embarrassing for us, in Edmonton, as our Calgary colleagues just felt sorry for us, that this is what we thought good steak was. We decided to try Pyro on a whim a couple weeks ago since we still hadn't gotten around to visiting L'oca yet. I had heard glowing reviews of the pizza and was excited to try it. My husband and I both ordered a pizza l, carnivore for him and the herbivore for me. The pizza was great, I personally think I might try another one next time since mine didn't reheat that great the next day. Our server was friendly and the vibe of the restaurant was really nice, we were in on a random week day so it wasn't crazy busy which was nice. Lots of parking but the entrance door is separate from the exit door for the grocery door. Grocery side has lots of cool goodies so plan to spend some time before or after your meal to look around! Shrimp - 8/10, quite spicy, one friend could not handle it, if i had more than 3 to eat it would be too spicy for me too. Cooked really well. Salmon - 7/10, pretty bland but was moist/well cooked. Sad it does not come with a single side - would love to see an offer for 1 free side with purchase of 3-4 skewers. I got the mashed potato side (Not crispy loaded option) - very bland. Creamy and good texture though. 8/10. 2 friends shared the Herbivore pizza and another friend got the carnivore one. Everyone was happy with the flavors and portions. We also got 2 desserts - Cheesecake - so pretty (can buy in the grocery side as well), but pretty bland for me, 8/10. Tiramisu - portion was so small, but not unexpected. Good flavor. Overpriced awful tasting food in the restaurants. Completely overpriced. Don't believe any of the influencers raving about this place because the food is awful and disgusting and over priced three times than what it should be. It's a grocery store after all. We were recommended the steaks as supposedly that's what they specialize in. Our steak was mediocre at best. We ordered it rare and it was given to us medium well. The steak was so tough I could not eat it without jaw pain. We upgraded our side for the driest most bland worst side dish I ever have had in my life. It was so bad I'm not sure how this even left the kitchen. The pasta was basically so dry it was like eating raw dry pasta with the tiniest amount of sauce possible to make it so bland and flavourless! How disgusting. This restaurant is absolutely beautiful. We are so lucky to have something like this in Sherwood Park. The L'OCA quality market is not open yet but it is unbelievable from what you can see. We got to come for the soft opening reservations which we have been so excited for. We had the L'oca Caesar's to drink - one a mocktail ($9 - the highest priced virgin drink I've ever had while being pregnant). We started out with the calamari which was incredible. It was fresh, crispy, and hot. Then for lunch we opted for the blackened chicken sandwich and caesar salad, the big MAX burger with fries, and the neo margherita pizza. The blackened chicken burger was alright. It was nothing special. The chicken breast was plain and grilled. I'll be honest I always order a blackened chicken sandwich and I've never received one without seasoning on the chicken. The toppings were good but it was just very bland in my opinion. The big MAX burger was not something I'd order again. The bottom bun was very damp already as we got it. It just did not do anything for us. The staff both suggested the fries as they are cooked in beef fat. I've had many fries done like this in the past and these were just too strong tasting for my liking. The neo margherita was disappointing. The food did take a while to come out which is totally fair as it's a soft open but the pizza appeared if it had sat under a heat lamp for a substantial time. We had one piece and brought it home. We live very close so we will obviously come back to see the market but we will attempt the restaurants maybe at a later time. Also - they have coloring sheets, booster seats, high chairs, and even kids brunch on the menu. They don't have a kids menu which is totally ok. They have items like chicken fingers ($22) and the neo margherita. They had taken our drink order and grabbed our daughter's glass and walked away without asking if she wanted something. So we asked when she returned for a chocolate milk which they returned later and said they didn't have but they had items like shirley temple for kids. So we opted for that. Four of us went there on Tuesday June 17. To watch the game and have dinner. We had the special game deal for $40.00/ person. It was not good at all, the brisket that comes with it was bone dry, it's as if it was reheated sliced leftovers from previous days. The sausage was the same not moist at all and it too was bone dry, (again, most likely reheated leftovers), the Cole slaw was terrible, the worst I've ever had. Terrible food. To top it all off, we were given cold plates, I don't mean cold as at room temperature but cold as in just out of the fridge. My wife had the brisket sandwich, it was the exact same only worse as it was 50% fat. We went there to have a good meal not be served reheated leftovers, especially at those prices. We each got ONE shrimp, meaning we were served one skewer of shrimp for a table of 4 people to share!!! Such a awkward and not a good dining experience over and over. We have been giving this place a few 2nd chances now, maybe working out the "kinks" "Happy hour menu" has improved but not without staff being trained and it's quarks. Putting wings on happy hour great! Not having the sauces that belong with it not great. Server had no knowledge of this. So waited and waited for the sauce. We also asked for a refill on beer and waited and waited. Had to remind the server. Had a $16.00 Aperol Spritz. It had no ice and in a skinny white wine glass. Asked for a glass of ice. Waited and waited. This is not a busy place late night 9pm. So you spend money on a DJ for ambiance? But not for the food quality and the training for your servers. You can tell there is clique customers that are friends or know the servers well. They were able to receive refills in a timely way. This is what made the place awkward and clumsy. Ordered sausage happy hour told it was bratwurst and we get two sides. It was not bratwurst but a sausage with fennel. For me it was good but for a regular entree price it would not be. Did not receive the 2nd side. By this time we did not bother to ask we were done with the overall experience. Big Mac Burger where is the sauce? burger missing the mark, the curry ketchup stop trying so hard, child was turned off the burger and fries and did not eat it. We recently visited Pyro for "brunch" on Sunday. I think the atmosphere is stunning but less impressed with the service and the price. After ordering Eggs Benny the server came back to tell us they had run out - I'm not sure how that can happen during the advertised brunch service. Apparently they also had no smashed potatoes. Hmmmm. Most chefs can create everything involved in a Benny in short order. So we ended up ordering lunch. $5 for a regular coffee is excessive. Charging for additional parmesan cheese for a pizza is unheard of. And $19 for a bowl of soup is disappointing. When one of the managers stopped by we asked about not being able to have brunch during brunch, there was no apology just a "justification". We won't be going back any time soon. read more

Went to Pyro fro our anniversary and could. it have been more impressed. The restaurant had a great feel, a relaxed yet tasteful atmosphere that made us feel nice and relaxed. The service was attentive and personal without being pushy. Our waiter Jordan was friendly and professional and was around at all the right times. The manager Alexis was attentive and very friendly, and went above and beyond to make our night wonderful. The food was delicious and arrived in timely manner. My wife had the tenderloin and it was cooked perfectly, and the flavor was fantastic. I had the brisket sandwich, and as a fan of brisket I must say it was the best brisket sandwich I've ever tasted. For dessert I had the tiramisu which I thought was as good as any I've had at any Italian restaurant. Overall the experience was incredible, and I would recommend Pyro to anyone wanting a nice relaxed, and tasteful dining experience. 5/5 ++. read more
