"It is under warranty, but my manager still insisted I charge you something." - Doc Savage…read moreTechnician Had Doc Savage replace my AC unit a short while ago, which included replacing my thermostat with a Doc Savage-branded unit. Recently the thermostat started turning off automatically, most likely due to low batteries. Due to the way that they installed it, I was unable to get the battery compartment open and was forced to call them to come out and service it. It cost $99 dollars for them to come out, which is annoying but typical, and I was assured on the phone that should be my only expense since all of my equipment is still under warranty. The technician came by this morning, and after examining the equipment he said he thought it was a low battery issue. He then told me that he could see that when they installed the thermostat, they also installed a power line that would eliminate the need to deal with batteries at all, they just never hooked it up (and remember, this is all Doc Savage purchased and installed equipment - the "they" is Doc Savage). NOBODY even told me that was an option when they installed it, or asked me what I would prefer. The technician finished his work and told me it would be $99 for the visit, which I knew, and then $74 for actually fixing the issue. I told him that his office told me over the phone yesterday that all my equipment is still under warranty, to which he replied that he would need to call in and check. He went outside and placed his call, and returned with the line that I opened this review with: "It is under warranty, but my manager still insisted I charge you something." WHAT. THE. F***. He said in an attempt to "meet me halfway", they would bring the extra charge down from $74 to $9. I don't like to take out my frustrations with a company on their rank and file, so I just bit the bullet and paid the extra $9 (for a total of $108), and I hope Doc Savage enjoys it, because it is the last money they will EVER see from me. This entire experience should and could have been avoided in the first place if they had installed the unit properly, and/or asked my preference as to whether I wanted battery or hardwired power, and then to essentially steal from me by admitting that they shouldn't be charging me at all, but the manager insisted??! Yeah I'm done with this company, and I strongly advise anyone reading this to avoid them as well. The technicians are nice, personable people, but there's something deeply wrong with the management.

Three or four years later, if you call them to stop service, they will NOT remind you that they also expect it in writing, and they will continue to bill you for service even if you no longer live at that address. Once you figure out that you are billed for service that you did not desire and had notified by phone call, they will NOT refund the costs for a service you did not need or want. Their failure to remind you of their policy, years after they sent you the policy, represents poor customer service.

So far Servpro has done our demo for fire/water/smoke damage. Brian, Wyatt, and the rest of the…read moredemo team were phenomenal. We're very thankful for all the guidance and reassurance they gave us. There have been a few delays, but overall we are satisfied so far. They do seem over scheduled, but that is not the fault of any of the guys out working non-stop. I will update once reconstruction is complete.

If you have a crisis, no matter how desperate you are CALL SOMEWHERE ELSE. Do not use this company!…read moreWe will soon be providing photos and emails of all the issues we've encountered as we are able. They will take all of your belongings, and throw away things without consulting you. They won't properly inventory your possessions, then they'll misplace things of all value and size -large and small, cheap and valuable. We were reassured many times that they wouldn't throw things away without our consent. They have tried to throw away some perfectly good things, and then when we requested items to be returned but they still disposed of them. Their employees will steal valuable things or at least try to! They even tried to dispose of my daughter's bible -an engraved gift from her now deceased grandmother- it is in pristine condition and is one of the items from our "unsalvageable list" that they wanted to trash but we requested it to be returned and they did, but many other irreplaceable things they did not return when they should've. They will hold your belongings hostage until your insurance company pays for the cleaning of it- our cleaning bill- just for things removed from our home was $24,000, and guess what- THEN THEY BROUGHT IT BACK FIVE WEEKS AFTER REQUESTED WITH HALF OF IT STILL COVERED IN SOOT AND DUST!!! $24,000 just for cleaning contents and they didn't even do half the work. They repeatedly delay and then charge your insurance more for storage when the delay is their doing. They will hire subpar subcontractors that damage your home- the painters applied latex paint to our oil based painted trim. No one truly takes accountability for problems they just make one excuse after another or shift the blame to another employee or department. I am not going to leave out that they have done a few things properly, but what they have done wrong far outweigh those. I would never hire this company again. Those who have failed the most are their contents team, management and the owners. Brian, Wyatt and Roy were all in our home for mitigation , they worked hard and were very polite. Brian was misleading about some of the documents he had me sign right after our fire- and now their general manager is trying to use those against us... saying we gave them permission to dispose of anything they wanted to, yet verbally and in text, they reassured us repeatedly that nothing would be thrown out without our permission. Nicole in billing wasn't good with communication in the beginning but turned it around and was very helpful. Our fire was April 5th, it's September 19th and our job still isn't quite done, we have had servpro working at our house less than 30 days total...since April. These photos are a fraction of our contents that they were paid $24,000 to clean that wasn't even touched. The last two photos are of things they brought to my home that belong to someone else. They all should be ashamed, but they are far from it, even arrogant when responding to the problems they've caused.
