So this WAS my favorite go to bar. Chill atmosphere and lots of pool tables. My best friend was in town, some guy said she couldn't do a one hand push up. (She is a combat veteran served for 7 years Honorably) So naturally she got on the floor and did started doing one handed push ups. A new female bartender who was VERY RUDE. Came stomping over and said that kinda of behavior wasn't acceptable at a bar. Said we had to leave I went over to the owner and said this was unacceptable and he said she had to leave. I WILL BEVER COME BACK TO THIS BAR AGAIN! I will never recommend this bar either. MOST OF ALL THE GOOD BARTENDERS HAVE LEFT ! They have roaches as well. read more

Q bar is a little neighborhood bar. I've found that all the good bartenders from the bars on mason road end up here so service is excellent. I think the only reason people go to some of the other bars is because Q Bar is a little pricier. Not a lot but you and a date will spend about $15 more here on a night out vs other mason rd bars. Ive met one of the managers named Vanessa who was so nice. I regularly see her there helping people get their drinks or with issues with the pool tables or dart boards. I'm a dart novice but some of the dart regulars helped me sign up for the tournament on Tuesdays and it's been a lot of fun. We love this bar , the female manager and Mario are the best .... But today Friday night one of the two man bartenders charged us double and I had to correct him ..... he did the correction and we're all good. We still love it, just keep an eye on your bill Friday, that never happened before so outside of that it's a great place, everyone is friendly and a great place shoot pool, they also have tournaments and karaoke which is very cool. So this was my first time there. I walked in and the guy asked me if I had been drinking. I had exactly one beer before I got there. So I said yes. He would not serve me. I asked him why and he was being a snarky a*shole. I have no idea his reasoning but I was definitely not drunk. Not going back. He wouldn't tell me his name but he had a Nike shirt on. It's a dive bar, but one that plays host to the Snowman Poker League just about every day except for Sundays and Thursdays. 7:00 and 10:00 games every other day. The drinks are pretty cheap. They have giant 23oz beer glasses for usually around $3.50 or so, and on Fridays they are $3.00 all night long! Domestics only, non-specialty (aka Bud, Coors, Miller). Since this is Katy, smoking is allowed inside. They have a few pool tables, dart boards and a shuffleboard table. The bigger draw seems to usually be on the poker nights, however. I went to Q Bar for the first time tonight and I will never go back. I wanted to sing some karaoke and waited and waited and waited because the kj played a handful of songs between performers. And then when I was in the bathroom, one of the regulars introduced himself to me and then called me a f@g when he walked out. If that's the kind of regulars you want in your bar, then I want no part of it. I'm a good tipper and tend to be a regular at places that treat me well, but I won't stand for some backwoods derogatory remarks to be made at me. For the record, I'm not gay, but I have more than a few friends that are and I wouldn't want to take them to an establishment that is okay with that kind of language or bigotry in there. If there was a bar in Katy in need of being on Bar Rescue, look no further than Q Bar. It's dirty and in need of a regular overhaul. I hate that I had to even give them one star. This is one of the cleanest bars establishments in Katy. Their prices are reasonably competitive with the other bars around the area. They cater to adults and not kids like a lot of the other places I've been to. The bartenders and management make sure that the patrons are not over served, I've been going to this place for years and have never had a problem. It's always humorous to see comments from people that are negative when the honor reason they are leaving these comments are because they have been cut off and not allowed to get nasty drunk. This place serves great food if you happen to stop and you should try their steaks. The atmosphere is fun they have karaoke and D j's that perform on different nights they have plenty of TV's where you can watch any sporting event that is played. Everywhere you go there are going to be answered Vance from time to time but for the most part this place well above average. read more

I've been going to this bar for some time. The bartenders and manager work very hard and are always moving around quickly. They are tremendously nice and fun to be around. Your drinks come quickly and the prices can hardly be beat in Katy. They have recently renovated the place and it looks nice and clean. The customers are generally pretty friendly and I've yet to see a problem there. It has games, pool tables and numerous TVs, two of which are very large. This comes in very handy when watching sports. Go Astros!! This is where I watched the Super Bowl in January. And oh, I almost forgot. They have a very big food menu and I've never eaten anything there that has disappointed me. And I'm not kidding when I say that their steaks are top-notch. Visually, they look delicious and are rather large. They're juicy and taste tremendous. They are on par with, if not better than, many of the better steak houses in the Katy area. Plus, the price absolutely cannot be beat. They have karaoke and all their DJs are very good. This place also has very good singers and not the kind of singers that make you want to plug your ears. Everybody has had to deal with that at some point in their lives. Finally, the owner, Abe, is truly one of the nicest guys I've ever met. I always enjoy speaking with him when I see he's there. They add drinks to your tab, and deny it, then another time They stole my credit card info and tried to use it at an auto shop. I rarely use my American Express card and the one time I do, guess what, the very next day I get a call from Amex saying someone is trying to use my card. The owner also doesn't care that the glass my beer was in was covered in lipstick, he said it happens sometimes and didn't offer me anything, not even a clean glass, and another time a roach ran across the bar top in the middle of the day, and I smashed it with their tip jar. After all that I will never go to this place again. It is a filth hole with nasty owners. Bad management, the karaoke and Dj is always way too damn loud. Went went to this place on Wednesday, restrooms clean, pretty spacious, pool tables are either a dollar per game or you can rent the bigger ones for 10 bucks for the night.
