I have been coming here for happy hour for years with my brother and his friends. The happy hour crowd is consistently friendly and welcoming to new patrons. The food is great, it's difficult to not have the DUI fries each visit because they are seriously the BEST, but must haves include the Baja Fish Tacos, the Hustler burrito, and Irish nachos. I also love staying Wednesday nights for Karaoke with Leigh. Definitely a place to check out if you're looking for a fun sports bar with great food and service. read more

Over the past year, I've been to the "Q" on a Football Sunday, a Taco Tuesday and a Karaoke Wednesday. I've enjoyed each visit and was easily able to make nice with folks at the bar. The tacos were tasty and the beer selection is ample. The staff was attentive and kind, always cracking jokes and smiles. I particularly appreciate the themed nights, the juke box (allowing for plays via your phone too) and range in activities (pool, darts, skee ball, karaoke, tacos and turntables.) I have yet to come on a fight night, which I hear can get crazy. I recommend this place for a taste of local life in Oxnard. I'm a fan. read more

Call me a snob, i mean I know it's Oxnard but anyplace that scans your i.d. so that if anything goes down the cops will know you were there (that's what the security guard told me), makes me a bit nervous. I try to avoid places that need to have security in the first place.The bar is laid out funky, big island in the middle, tap beers hidden behind bar (half of them were out). Maybe just not my cup of tea. Bummer, because I drive right by it everyday after work and would love to have a chill place just to have a drink before I head home. Dang, I think you might have a better time of keeping your money in your pocket if you go to the card casino down the street. At least there they keep the fall over drunks and a-holes out. $15 for a domestic michelada just because "it's a tall" according to the night manager. I took a picture of it. I hope Yelp will let it post. The staff are nice enough, the food I picked ok, no gourmet or "gastro-pub" here, just ok. I guess Oxnard still has "The Collection". The "mug" beer isn't twice the size the pint, at least I don't think. The reason they scan you're ID is because the regulars fight there all the time, it's high in number even for Oxnard. read more

I'm a regular at the Q Club every Wednesday and Thursday night for pool league. Don't let appearances fool you--the decor may be divey, but the drinks and service are fantastic. This place is perfect for groups, after-work drinks or a casual date night. My husband will always order the popper tacos which he says are always delish. The drink menu has a wide variety of beers and spirits. Our waitress, Nancy, is always friendly, cheerful and attentive. She knows what we like to order and comes by our table throughout her shift to make sure we have what need. read more

What a horrible experience. The only reason they get one star is because the karaoke hostess is top notch. I guess I should have known there was something wrong from the beginning because, when I walked into the bar I went straight to the bar. I wanted to order a drink for myself and one for the Karaoke Hostess. The bartender, whose name I later learned was Kelly, "declined" to take my order since I was going to the karaoke room... she had to go find the waitress to come take my order. I waited about 15-20 minutes for the waitress to show up to the karaoke room to take my order. I ordered my drink and gave specific instructions to the waitress on how it should be made. Coincidentally, I was seated right next to her station, so I saw her typing exactly what I asked for. Good job for Ashley, the waitress. First drink came back fine (although it took almost another 15 minutes). Then I ordered some food. Food surprisingly came back much faster. After dinner, I ordered a second drink. When the drink arrived (about 10 minutes later), the bartender screwed up my order (on ice, instead of neat). I didn't bother to taste it. I don't like ice in my drink, thus I ordered it NEAT. I asked waitress to take it back and do it the same way as the first. When the waitress came back with the drink - this time it was served "neat" but the bar tender poured the wrong combination of spirits (Amaretto instead of Grand Marnier). And she also sent it in a shot glass (short pour - which I was willing to overlook). I went to the bar and asked to speak with a manager to correct the issue. I figured if the bartender got it wrong two times in a row, that was enough. I wanted another drink made just the same as the first. Why couldn't they get it right twice? Bar tender (Kelly) said there was no manager on site. She admitted she poured the drink, and told me I was wrong. She said her app on her phone said that was how it should be made. Not the way I ordered. REALLY???? I asked Kelly to re-pour the drink the way it was done the first time - this is when Ashley appeared. She told us that apparently the first drink was poured by another bartender. Kelly told me she wouldn't re-pour the drink the way I asked. Not wanting to make a scene, I asked Kelly to close out my check and take off the drink they mis-poured. She refused and told me I had to pay for that drink - the drink that she mis-poured twice. I told her there was no way I would pay for something I didn't consume because she screwed up. Next thing I know, I have security getting uncomfortably close to me. Bartender continued on her charade. "Mr., I don't know who you are, but you're going to pay for that drink." Then she looks at the security guard to intervene. I explained the situation to the security guard. I reiterated that the drink was made properly first time. Then it was mis-poured twice. All I wanted at this point was for them to take the mis-poured drink off my tab. It took almost an hour to get the corrected check. It's also worth mentioning that the waitress (Ashley) kept forgetting to bring water when I asked for it with my drink. I had to remind her a couple of times. I will reiterate that the food service was adequate but bar/beverage service was extremely slow. Waiting 10-15 minutes for a drink should not be the norm in a smaller bar. Bottom line: Bad service all around. Food is adequate - the carne asada was low-quality and chewy/fatty - This place needs a serious reality check. After reading some of the other reviews, it's obvious others have had similar experiences with slow/poor service. read more

A low key place to go with some friends to have a drink and appetizers. We didn't play pool (there were pool tables open) but it did fill up fast later on when the crowds came in. Parking won't be a problem if you get there early, but you may have to mingle a little - which is great on the weekly (Tuesdays) comedy nights! The comics drive up from LA and they are funny! Sometimes they also hang out after the show is over and get to know the folks who stick around. The show is free, too, so you can just wander into the showroom and get comfy, the wait staff is super-friendly and the food is really good! Cheap day pool but I'm not in love with the tables, there old and bumpers are worn. The upside is they use Simonis cloth. They also have a Billiard table. This place is great for practicing a few hours, its only $6/hour before 6pm, then $10/hour. As far as league goes I'd rather play at Stixx or Butera's because they just have far superior tables. Biggest Complaint: They have one coin op Diamond bar box in great condition, For 2$ A GAME!!!!! The food is not bad but the alcohol prices are too high and the service is horrendous! The fact that they have 1 server per 75-100+ people during fight nights speaks volumes. Management has no clue how to handle a packed house. It's a shame that they are pretty much the only place in town that still shows all the fights because the service ruins the experience. I was hanging out with a group of friends and we decided to go to the QClub for some drinks. I think the location is perfect, close to the freeway and right by the collection. The place looked really busy and full of people which is a good thing.  We found a seat at the bar and were greeted by a really nice bartender named Candy.  She recommended the Watermelon shot and asked us if wanted anything to eat.  The watermelon shot was delicious and she even put Tajin on the rim of the shot glass.  We had the Asada Fries and hands down were the best asada fries I've ever had.  We played a game of pool, danced, hung out outside on the patio, and watched the basketball games.  Overall we had a great time and had lots of fun.  Thank you Candy for the great service and the delicious drinks. read more

What a hole. Went there to watch a UFC fight. I have serious doubts that the fire department approves the max capacity during these events. They set up chairs around picnic tables and also turn pool tables as drink/eat platforms. Venue sucked. There were obstructed views of the big screen--oversized beer dispensers on tables, overcrowding (people standing), hanging lamps. Waitresses had assigned areas, but I was never once asked if I wanted anything. The one assigned waitress was too concerned with cleaning up when the main event started, clearly setting herself up for a quick end-of-shift exit. I stood in front of the bar with my credit card held over my head at one point and every bartender ignored me. A lot of pissed-off customers and pissed-off employees, a powder keg waiting to explode. If you want to get into a fight--your homies vs. their homies, this is the place for you. Only good news is fights will end quickly. Cops patrol the parking lot regularly and they employ pro wrestlers as bouncers. Never again. read more

Pretty legit place! Since the Play Billiards place was forced to close because the owner evicted the tenant, my friends and I lost our usual Billiards place. We were told that the Q club was an ok place to go. I had my reservations, I had this idea that it was just infested with alpha male attitudes that glare at everything that may threaten their territory where they are "posted" OK so we came and yes there were plenty of alpha male attitudes, but the crowd was a lot more diverse than I expected. Older crowd, military, among others. So they had beer pong tables set up and ready to go, cool. We ordered a pitcher and were ready to go. Bartenders were cool, they were just overwhelmed with orders it seemed. Played a couple of rounds and then we decided that we wanted to shoot some pool. Fares were pretty fair. Paid $15 for about an hour and a half I think. Music choice my friend commented "reminded me of high school music." I don't think it was a compliment though. At least it wasn't Rookies loud where you have to yell to talk to the person next to you! So yeah its a cool place to hang out with friends. Its more welcoming than I thought it would be. I used to go come here to watch boxing when I lived in Ventura. It was one of the few places I could go in the area that showed PPV boxing and MMA. I watched numerous boxing fights here, both PPV and the non-PPV fights on HBO and Showtime. The food is excellent. My favorite item on the menu is the DUI Fries. Super friendly staff, great nice waitress' and bartenders...and the food was very good for appetizers food...but the service isn't very efficient. They have djs and a dance floor too, it can get kinda busy on the weekends but it's always been fun. I wish I lived closer to go more often. But I went to a friends birthday gathering on Saturday and now I have been going there for the passed 3 Saturday's ! I was VERY impressed by the host and how he gets the party going. He also pumps everyone up ! I've seen different Dj's work well with him and they play to the crowd a variety of Hip Hop and Latin music . I asked to give a bday shoutout and he made us feel special shouting us out all night ! Security is on point as far as scanning and ID's with the way this society is , it's a plus. Fun environment, pool tables are well kept, the atmosphere is friendly and fun. The food is well priced especially the appetizers roughly about $6.95-8.95 each, I will say the Irish nachos are great although they are a little stingy with their cheese, I think the point of nachos is the cheese but in this case it was more like chips with sour cream with a tiny spritz of shredded cheese. Their mugs of soda are huge and it may not seem like it but one soda is usually enough, the waitresses are very friendly, fun, and welcoming. Their bouncer reminds you of a cousin everyone has in their family so there's no unwelcoming greeter at the door as usual in most places.
