After a day of touring in Quebec, this gastropub and the perfect ending to a visit in this fabulous city . The waitress suggested the white pizza and she did me justice . It was delectable! So good! Probably the best beef tartare I have ever had. Most likely because it had a hint of white truffle oil in it. It was fun to sit inside and watch the pizzas being made. The cook/chef kept the area clean. read more

Fun outdoor patio in a neat part of the lower portion of the old city. Friendly wait staff. My hubs and I shared a French onion soup for starters. Delicious. In the US I find this same soup far too salty. This crock wasn't at all. Next we shared the buttermilk fried chicken on a waffle and some frites! The chicken waffle presentation was fun. Very tasty. The frites were delicious and came in a metal pail. Fun night here. Good eats! read more

Great location in the old city. Cozy, small local feel. Ambience is laid back. Got very busy over the long weekend so we were lucky to snag seats at the bar. The service was fantastic and offered great suggestions. We dealt with both the bar tender and server and they were accommodating and friendly. Even though I liked the pub the food was just ok. Also we waited at least 40 min. Was really hoping for the fried pickles but they changed their menu recently and replaced it with fried avocado which was just ok. I went with the white pizza but it just lacked a bit too much flavourful and was too dry. Burger was standard. Nice pub but the food just didn't hit the spot. read more

The salmon sandwich here is literally the best sandwich I have eaten in over five years! I could not even believe how flavorful, smoky, rich, and delicious this meal was! The Salmon was colored with beet juice, and curled so it looked like roses. It was $14 and listed on the menu as Tartine Au Gravlax de Saumon. Please see my photo to see how pretty it is! Another diner in my party got the same dish, and also loved every bite. The other two people I was with got individual pizzas, which we saw being made, and cooked in the brick oven close to our table. That was fun to watch. My dining companions loved their pizzas! The outside eating area looked bright and beautiful with patio tables and flowers, but it was a blazing hot day and we had been walking around Old Quebec and needed to get out of the sun. We decided to sit inside, which is a cellar-type area with old stone walls and low lighting. The air was nice and cool in there! The room is visually interesting with lots of rough-hewn wooden columns and a big log suspended horizontally from the ceiling over the bar. I liked that room a lot. Our server, Dominick, was friendly and attentive. Service was fast, too. This was my favorite of all six restaurants I went to in Quebec! read more

Great location and as it was a sunny and hot day outside on. Saturday, it was busy out and many people were out and wanted to sit on a patio. It was 2 in the afternoon and we had to wait for at least 30 minutes for a table. It was a good patio. We had the French onion soup with smoked cheddar, the beef tartare and the poutine. Hidden little gem! We had the bacon poutine, mushroom pizza and the joue de boef - fantastic! The poutine was very flavorful and came out piping hot. The pizza was ultra thin crust so very light and joue de boef was super tender and well seasoned. The atmosphere of this place is fantastic. Sitting outside and enjoying the evening, watching the people walk by was quite enjoyable. The food was not so good. Asked for my burger medium rare, came out very well done. The beef was not that good to begin with. My wife ordered the mac and cheese. Barely any cheese. the worst part was this was the price was $22.00. Was worst than Kraft dinner. They say when you are in a tourist area watch out for those restaurants that cater to tourists. Was recommended to go here by a friend and really enjoyed our experience. It's down the hill on the bottom part of old Quebec, tucked into the corner of a street. The pub is incredibly cozy and is known for their french onion soup (with smoked cheddar which was different). Friendly service, tasty food, great atmosphere. This is a nice, little pub. Well worth the charming visit. read more

Great food in a fun and laid back atmosphere. We had a great server. The duck wings are a MUST try. The pizza is brick oven and that should be enough said. My friend had the beef tartar and loved it. I came in for lunch and enjoyed it a lot! It's a cute little pub bar vibe. It's not a huge amount of seating but I love the atmosphere. One waitress/bartender for the whole shop but it worked out completely fine. We got the burger and chicken sandwich. Both dishes were plenty of food and very tasty. Portions were perfect for the cost and it was cheaper than other places I've ate at around the area. I would highly recommend! Food was very hot which was another plus. Location is tucked away but find your way and you won't regret!! read more

Wow! The French onion soup was pretty damn good! I thought they were just another "we got the best..." places but they seemed to have a legit claim to their "Best Onion Soup in Town" sign! Tucked away to the side of tourist central, Q-de-Sac felt like we were in a quiet little area away from the crowds. The service was top notch, the terrasse is roomy and lovely and the selection even for a non-meat eater was wonderful. My spouse had the Joue de boeuf and I swear that I saw his eyes roll to the back of his head. He said he had never had meat so tender and delicious and trust me, not a speck of anything was left on his plate! The beer and wine selection is good and despite a line up of people waiting to get in, they never once made us feel rushed. This is not a tourist trap like every other place around here, this is a genuine resto pub that takes pride in their ingredients and service. Bonus: the terrasse is also super dog friendly...lots of well-behaved pooches to hang out with :) read more

Chose this spot solely based on its location on the street right below the colorful umbrellas and Nd er even checked yelp for reviews which is totally out of character for me. What a lovely surprise! Hub had a great double white beer and I had an absolutely delicious cider, crisp and light. We stopped only fir a beer and some fries, which were very good and hot and crispy. Not the best but hit the spot. After seeing the signs for the " best French opinion soup" we decided to try it as well. As a previous payer described, it had a "pizza flavor" that actually worked quite nicely with the light, sweet broth and tender onions and that delicious melted cheese. Quality wise this has to be one of the best restaurants in old part of town. Yes the hype is true. Best beef Tartare, possible best we ever had. We also had a delicious French onion soup, it's a 100 steps up from the bland generic French onion soup offered at other tourist traps around the corner. We loved the service, very friendly and spoke perfect English. Highly recommend this restaurant for all visitors out of town. read more

We ate here twice while visiting Quebec and just loved it. First time we had a group of 6 and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their dinner. Great pub atmosphere with a nice beer selection and mixed drinks. The food was delicious-loved everything we had. I particularly liked that I could reserve 2 seats at the bar for our second visit and were not rushed at all as they allow 2 hour time slots. read more

A quaint and friendly place to be sure to visit. My wife and I were recommended Q-de-Sec by a local so we headed down on New Years Eve and were so happy we did. Local Quebec traditional music playing, cozy bar and the friendly staff I could ever hope to meet. We ordered the pizza and wings, both we would order again. Everyone was so friendly we ended up doing a hot shot as they were trying to get everyone a Seated at the bar to do "hot shot"together. Lots of fun and definitely a place we will be returning to. read more

To start, the restaurant is in a very cute area in the Old City, with the city's umbrella display right outside of the restaurant! The lighting is nice, and the outdoor seating was beautiful. We started with the duck wings with maple soy, and the onion rings. The duck wings were very good, with a unique local flavor that was fun to try. The onion rings came with honey, which I had never seen before, but honestly loved! For entrees, we got the White Pizza, the Beef Tartare meal, the Tiger Shrimp with Risotto, French Onion Soup, and the Mac N Cheese. Every person enjoyed their meal, and no one was disappointed! In my opinion the Tiger Shrimp with Risotto was the best dish, with the pesto risotto being excellent, and there being four jumbo shrimp on top. The French Onion Soup was also really good. Would absolutely recommend both this restaurant and these meals! read more

Succulent and juicy. Fantastic real french fried potatoes. Extensive beer and micro brew list and also a full bar and wines by the bottle. Very fun ambiance with an old school student like feel. Took me back. Not expensive for excellent quality food. Lep is a wonderful server and deserves a bigger shoutout. Close to Laval University and not touristy. Enjoyed the experience.

I don't know what happened…read moresince the previous yelpers ate here, but a four star review this is not: Ok, so as I understand it a bistropub is supposed to focus on good food and good drinks... Right? Well, at Le Sacrement that's not quite the case; the beer list is extensive, but the food sucks. There's also something about a sticky table that doesn't quite say "bistro dining". DO NOT order a burger here - it tastes like shoe leather and I would be shocked to learn it wasn't frozen and premade by a wholesaler. My boyfriend literally said, "if I wanted to eat a burnt burger from Costco, I could have done it at home". The people next to us had the ribs and the salmon tartar - the ribs were also probably ordered in from a wholesaler (they looked so dry and sticky) and the tartar plate was measly for the price charged. To be blunt, I won't be coming back and would recommend you don't waste your hard-earned money here either - unless you're in need of a few pints and a meatpuck before heading to the rink behind the restaurant.

We ordered a couple excellent beers. We felt bad as we weren't eating so apologized to our server. He was so nice and friendly. Told us to relax and enjoy! Nice outdoor patio right by the cruise port. Right by the umbrella street! Also a view of Hotel Frontenac. The food we saw going to other tables looked good.
