The first time I scheduled an appt with them, I showed up and they had changed their hours for that day. I never got a cancellation from them. Today, I decided to give them another chance. I tried explaining to "Khan" what I wanted but somehow it wasn't enough. he was also very aggressive. he wouldn't say anything when he tried to adjust my hands. he would aggressively push my fingers down when i was soaking my old nails off. he would throw my hand whenever it was time to cure, he just didn't speak to me. I had an appt and had to wait 30 minutes. I was never offered a drink or cocktail. After sitting down, I was left to soak for 20 more minutes. The technician who did the new sns powder could not get the color I requested correct after multiple tries. She shaved the dip so thin and I said I was concerned about them breaking or cracking. They did indeed start cracking within 3 days. One week later and all of the clear coats are peeling off too. I also had to ask her 3 times to make them shorter before I finally gave up and accepted my nails would be longer than I like. The service is amazing and the Nail techs are amazing too... but, they are over priced. I did a simple French in my toes which only was gel white tip no other polish and then I did a simple pink gel on my hands no long nails just my natural nails and no design, the total was $90. That's a little over priced for simple nails you know. So imagine doing nail art or long nails which full on gel toes, hella expensive idk. That's what I believe. I went in for a pedicure and a gel manicure. The lady doing my toes buffed them so hard that now I have raw skin around them. She's filed my nails do so short they hurt. I got a dark nail polish and she didn't even clean it up well. There is maroon still on my skin. Once done she rushed me to another chair to dry and left me there for 30 minutes. I was suppose to get gel polish but by the time anyone asked if I wanted my nails I was ready to leave. First time here because of the reviews, but I will not be returning. This is the only place I go to get my nails or toes done. I go several times a year and have never had a bad experience! The owner and the people who work for him are also heavily involved in the community and do a bunch to give back. Which is a huge plus in my book. Plenty of parking. Establishment super clean, despite being completely full, super busy. I came with my 2 daughters to have mani/pedi. We were served drinks and went within 10 minutes to our tables. DO NOT GET LASHES!!! UPDATE...Henry Ho (the owner) reached out to me. The next time I'm in Portland, he offered another set of lashes. When I get those, I'll update the review or delete it. First of all, their "natural" look is 2 caterpillars instead of lashes. Second, I did EVERYTHING they told me...no water on your face, covered my eyes while sleeping, kept my hands away from my face. THREE DAYS...the lashes only lasted THREE DAYS. I am NOT the kind of person who can flit away $120 for THREE DAYIS. By the 3rd day, all but a very few lashes on the left eye were still there. The girl seems so rushed, I feel she didn't do a good job. When she started my massage on my legs she used such fast motions that it wasn't even relaxing. I've been to this salon three times recently, and two out of those three times I felt like I was an inconvenience to the person working on my nails. The other time the lady was nice, but it felt really rushed and there was a mess left on my fingers from the sns. The first time I went with my mom and we got the sns for our hands and pedicures. The guy was impatient and rude with my mom, and the pedicures were not very relaxing because they felt really rushed. Second time was the girl who was nice, but still rushed. The third, and last time I will ever go to this salon, I booked an appointment for a mani pedi. The guy got annoyed when I couldn't hear what he was saying and had to repeat himself a few times. Later he asked if I was getting my hands done and I said I had the mani pedi, but I needed the sns on my nails removed. So, while I was sitting in the chair for the pedicure, he handed me the basket with the bag to soak my nails; after awhile he had me reach forward so he could file the sns off my nails. The whole thing was uncomfortable with my pregnant belly making it hard to hold the basket without spilling and leaning forward while my chair was leaning back some. I'm assuming it was to save time, but I was not comfortable at all while trying to move my feet for him and keep the liquid from spilling out of the bag. I guess while he was working on the cuticles he cut me because my toe stung really badly and I have a big scab above one of my toe nails. Once that was done, I was moved to the spot so he could work on my hands and I was trying to show him a picture of how I wanted my nails to look, but he acted like it was an inconvenience that I didn't want the same color that were on my toes (I had picked a color, but when I saw it on my feet I realized it wasn't the color I was looking for, so I was hoping he could help me find the right polish. Apparently that was wrong). So I just asked for a clear coat instead and spent the rest of the time trying not to cry because I was just fed up with the whole experience by that time. Then we were given a color chart without being told if it was powder or regular nail polish. We were separated the whole time so it made it less fun and destroyed the whole idea of a nail date. I'm not one to do reviews very often because I know there are circumstances that are out of people's control. Unfortunately my one and only experience here is less than a 1 star rating. I had an appointment scheduled and after almost 40 minutes I left. While waiting to be seated, I watched technicians walk over to the waiting area, ask people what they were there to have done and then randomly take people to their station. Absolutely no order at al. People that walked in after I did without an appointment were waited on before those that did have an appointment. Signing in should be a tool used to service your clients, instead it was chaos and disappointment.
