We stopped by after searching for desserts in that general vicinity on yelp. The reviews were great and we thought we'd give it a try. Oh. My. Goodness. It is AMAZING!! There are so many options of desserts and pastries to choose from... we ordered 6. We could have ordered more but we didn't want to be gluttonous ;) Their coffee, tea, refresher options are also extensive. I got an iced mocha and it was divine. Iced mochas are my go to and they are not all made the same. This one was perfect! Creamy without being too milky and you could taste both the espresso and the mocha. 10/10!!! It was so good we went back the next day -and we do not live close by. Our son then had an appointment at Columbus State and we made it a point to stop by for the third time in a week. This place is a gem! The ambiance, the service, the food -everything exceeded expectations. Highly recommend this place, my only complaint is I wish we lived closer! P.S. Try the honeycomb pastry ~ delish!!
Large clean dining room with nice aesthetic. Beautiful wood wall art showing Yemen coffee origin and distribution takes up much of one side wall. Gorgeous, well done. Impressed with the service. Very knowledgeable, very friendly. You ordering are given a disk that will flash when your order is ready. That's nice sure does be standing in line waiting for your food or having to listen for your name. The dining room is large full of lots of wooden for top tables, and a few tall chairs that service a wall counter top. Lighting is warm and relaxing. Lots of sunlight as the curbside of the coffee house is entirely windows. Quiet music this place is relaxing in a good place to do some work. We ordered the Yemeni latte, and the Jiboni with honeycomb pastry to share. The latte was cracked perfectly with lovely coffee. Art had a nutty flavor to it. I had honey added to it. It was done perfect not too sweet smooth and creamy would get again. Jobani almost looked like thick lightly milky tea, because it was coffee coffee husks vs ground beans. As far as flavor - it was enjoyable, not as acidic, not as robust as americanized coffee or traditional espresso. If you like tea and also like coffee try this you will like it. If you are a thick robust coffee person, skip The honeycomb is a triangular pastry. Tiny little balls connected each filled with cream cheese with homey on it. Served warm. Delicious. Definitely try if you don't like overly sweet things. I get this whenever I see a place that has it. My favorite thing to pair with my coffee.
Now this is a coffee shop! And the funniest part is neither my husband nor myself got any coffee...haha! My husband got a hot tea, I got a hot chocolate, and we shared the honeycomb pastry. That pastry was different than any other thing I've ever had, but I would tell everyone I know to get it! It was so fun to drizzle the honey all over it as well as pick it apart and eat it. The next time we go to Columbus this will definitely be a stop for us.
What a very very lovely cafe! The drinks here are exceptional! I Love Chi and it is hard to find a place that has actual authentic Chi! My hot Chi was so thick and full of flavor I felt like I was transported to a different place! That had a lot of seating and as k read my book I saw a lot of other people happily working or enjoying quiet conversations with friends! The staff were very welcoming and cheerful, their smiles contagious! What a very beautiful place! As I left I also noticed they had a very nice outside seating area which could be very lovey to spend time in! I highly recommend this cafe!
First time going to a Yemeni coffee house. My friend who is not a coffee drinker recommended trying Yemeni coffee and tea. They really wanted to take me here to try their coffee. I decided to try their Adeni chai because I am also a big fan of Chai tea. Their chai was very nice, had a smoothness to it and it was the right balance with the chai leaves and the milk. It was steeped well and it actually worked out really well with the dessert pastry that I got because it helped balance out the sweetness. Their The ambiance of this place is nice. I really like the center of the cafe because they have a circular table with their coffee roaster and grinding machine right at the heart of their building, where people can sit around and drink their coffee and tea and eat their pastries. I got the bassboosa, which is like a baklava but without the pastry part, but it was nutty had the grinded texture from the pistachio and I believe it was walnuts was great with the honey that combined with.
Had a lovely time at Qahwah House! For this week, they are giving free coffee to teachers and nurses! Just bring your ID and they will take it off the bill I was deeply appreciative of the pistachio latte I got to try! It was super creamy and filled with pistachio flavor, which went well with the bitterness of the coffee. The Qishr was great too--it is a traditional Yemini hot beverage made with the outer husks of coffee beans, and spiced with ginger and cardamom. It was light and super flavorful nonetheless. The coffee pot and cups were very cute too! As for baked goods, there were so many to choose from. The spinach feta was a nice savory option, with a flaky crust and filled with warm cheese and spinach paste inside. If you're looking for a sweeter option, the Yemini chocolate had a smooth layer of chocolate and a crispy pistachio filling inside. The interior is well decorated, with wooden furniture, artsy walls with maps and different facts about Yemini coffee, and industrial roof details. Since they have lots of seating, it's a nice spot to sit and hang out downtown. The parking is paid street parking, but it's worth it if you're looking for a quality coffee shop downtown.
I just discovered this great coffee shop on main street. It only has street parking close to downtown. The coffee tastes great. Also, they have great looking desserts which I didn't try.But perhaps next time. The inside is beautiful with pictures from the country of origin. The service was great and they were very nice.
Ordered the brown sugar latte and it was delicious! By the time we got there, around 6:30ish a couple of the pastries were out for the day but they all looked so good. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to try them as I couldn't stay for too long bc their WiFi was acting a little bit finicky. Having already purchased a latte I didn't think it was worth paying for a pastry when I wasn't planning on staying much longer. The cafe has plenty of seating with outlets nearby. I'm sure it's a great study spot when the WiFi is up and working smoothly. One note is to dress light as it felt a bit humid inside, it got warm fast. Overall, I was impressed with their latte and hopefully one day I can come back and give them another try. I really like how they are open late making it a great spot to study after class/work.
Came at around 11am on a Saturday was our first time at a Yemeni coffee shop. Interior looks great, good amount of people in there was well. Ample seating and the tables weren't back to back either. I got the Yemeni Iced Latte, honeycomb cake (they were out of the sabaya), and Mofawar coffee. I wanted the mocha latte or caramel macchiato but my bf made me try something new. The Yemeni Iced Latte honestly didn't taste too crazy despite having 3 spices in it. I would rate it a 6/10 it's not bad it tastes like a macchiato, but just not as sweet as I usually like my coffees. The Honeycomb Cake was pretty good I'd give it a 8/10. It's not super sweet, but I felt guilty eating it with all the butter in the pockets. My bf got the Mofawar coffee. You get to choose the size of the pot we got a medium um should've got a small because it was just for him. He rates it a 6.8/10. I would rate it a 7/10. It tastes better a little cooled down. When I had it hot I couldn't really taste it, but once it cooled down it had notes of sweetness I could taste. It was pretty good!
Have been wanting to try this place and thought when better on a snowy day to get all the warm drinks. I choose the Yemeni latte, mint tea and egg/spinach wrap. Mint tea was good and what i wanted but the Yemeni coffee was a nice flavorful surprise. I like not sweet coffee but you can add sugar or honey (i do sometimes) if you want. The addition of the spinach egg was because I worked out before. Soooo good and decent price.
It was our first time here and it was a warm, cozy, and inviting environment. There's plenty of seating and space to sit. It can get loud with the amount of people but typical busy cafe noise levels. They have wifi available for people who need it. I think it's a really nice place to do work, with outlets and wifi! There's plenty of tables and for various sized groups. Parking is a bit difficult just because it's downtown but it's a nice place to be. We got a couple drinks and their pistachio cake. I like all their drinks, you really can't go wrong and they're flavorful and strong! The cake was moist, sweet, and made well. I recommend trying any of their pastries with a drink, it's a good balance between the flavors. Staff was very nice and accommodating, answered our questions and were patient. The space was clean, open, and busy. I would recommend for their coffees, teas, and space to work! They're open late and can accommodate various sized groups. I like this space, I wish the location provided better access but it's a good place to be.

I've heard so many good things about Qahwah House, so I'm glad I finally visited. It's conveniently downtown and there's a parking lot across the street, so you're already winning. The inside is really spacious, well lit and decorated, with lots of seating and plus along the walls. I loved their mural art! I got settled at a table to knock out my to do list and some meetings and decided to try the mango matcha...delish! It was so creamy and not too sweet. I also tried a pastry and can't remember the name of it, but it was good too. It was a cloudy day, but I still sat by the window to soak up any sun I could. Definitely adding them to my list of remotes working spots :) read more
This is a very large coffee house that is attractively decorated and very comfortable. There is a ton of seating. Admittedly, I don't know much about Yemeni coffee other than it has a reputation as being very high quality. The coffee options skew toward interesting and authentic Yemeni drinks, but there are plenty of "regular" options, too. I tried a pistachio latte that was delicious. Even the tableware is attractive and of high quality. Don't sleep on the baked goods. We tried a couple of them and they were crusty and absolutely delicious. The very high ratings are legit. This is a coffee house that is well worth visiting. read more

Great spot for coffee, tea and desserts! It's very spacious inside for anyone wanting to work or meet with friends. There's an upstairs deck/rooftop with a nice view of town. A nice way to spend time outside. The service was quick and easy. read more

Beautiful experience! Lots of seating, open and airy. Middle eastern music softly playing in the background and a diverse group of customers spending time together. Coffee is good and served in a pot over a little candle. I had a medium roast cardamom coffee with cream. It was mild and tasty - cardamom was mild (mofawar). The other coffee was a light toast with cinnamon, ginger, and cardamom - tasted like a tart tea (jubani). Pastries were good, too! We had a pistachio cream dessert and a tomato olive oil pastry. Definitely will go back! read more

The coffee is always delicious, and the service is good. Overall I like the vibe here, music, dimmed lighting, but the chairs are somewhat uncomfortable if you plan on sitting for any amount of time. Not a deal breaker, just something to consider. read more

Delicious coffee and many yummy treats! I've only been once but it will be in my Columbus rotation. It's a beautiful shop, the service was helpful and friendly, and there's abundant street and public parking. I enjoyed my iced Yemeni latte and the Talia tarte the most, but everything I ordered was good. read more
This is a Detroit brand and like multiple other Yemeni cafes from that area, is in expansion mode. And I'm all for it. The decor here is similar to the original that I visited, and the pastry spread is no less mouthwatering. They introduced a variant of the Dubai chocolate that is currently trendy; their Yemeni chocolate dome was filled with crunchy noodles and pistachio. I'm not huge on trends, but this is definitely one that I'm in favor of. And while it is a coffee place, their interpretation of chai is distinctively spiced and freshly made in front of you. Dining in caused them to default me to an entire pot of chai, which I would have refused under different circumstances, but in this case I drunk half of it and got a to-go cup and had a cold chai the next morning as well. The place is near downtown and has ample indoor and outdoor seating, and was well attended. Far be it from me to dissuade anyone from coming. read more
This is a new coffee shop on East Main Street. It's a big space but friendly; lots of students seem to be here. Really good pastries and Yemen Premium Organic Coffee. There's "Yemeni Style" coffee and tea, Turkish Dark Roast, Arabic Light Roast, and Expresso. I got a chocolate croissant. DELICIOUS!! You order at the counter and the food is brought to you and those providing service are knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend this business!! read more

What an awesome cafe! I absolutely loved the drink and dessert selection here with amazing flavors from Yemen. This cafe is doing great work showcasing the beauty of the Middle East to Columbus. The cafe is really spacious and very comfortable for co-working, a friend and I were easily able to get our work done for a few hours here with no internet interruptions or issues locating a power outlet. There's a little bit of music playing but it's not bad as long as you have some headphones that provide noise cancelling. Service wise the staff is very nice and happy to give recommendations where needed. I decided to try their strawberry matcha latte and was pleasantly surprised. I'm very critical of matcha but the latte was done well and the strawberry puree added all the sweetness I needed. They even add a small amount of foam on top which I loved for the aesthetic! The only con I had was the menu prices are outdated and they do charge extra for making the matcha latte a strawberry latte so this was definitely on the higher end in terms of prices for a drink! read more

Stopped in for a small pot of Qishr and a piece of Honeycomb (khaliat an-nahl). Honeycomb served up warm and toasty, qahwah aromatic and flavorful. Next time will get to try a darker roast, inshallah. Good vibes here, good service, salaams! read more
It's always a great time at Qahwah House, and it's even better time when you try their new menu items. Instead of grabbing my usual late iced Yemeni latte w/ sugar -- I decided to try their new iced strawberry matcha. I will say that I am quite particular about my matcha. The color of the matcha at first glance eased my worries -- but I prefer a strawberry purée base rather than the strawberry milk Qahwah house uses. However, this tasted delicious! It was the perfect amount of sweetness and it mixed in super well. read more

Hands down the most delicious coffee I have ever had. If you like chai, the coffee here is chai on steroids. They have standard espresso, etc., too, but the Yemeni style coffee is the theme of the menu. The ambiance is perfect and service outstanding. read more
Huge space, plenty of seating, they must get a great constant flow of foot traffic from Franklin University and Grant Hospital just around the corner. The four gentlemen manning the store when I stopped in - just after five on a Friday evening - we're great. One did most the talking at first, he's originally from Jordan, moved to Dearborn, MI and helped start the original Qahwah. Brilliant move, this stuff is LEGIT. I'm not a coffee gal, so I immediately scanned their menu for other authentic drink options: Adeni Chai and Yemeni Chai. The gentleman knew what he was talking about, I'll tell you that much. He explained the difference - Adeni is with milk and the spices added then "cooked" (forgot to look if this is aka "steam"); the Yemeni Chai has no milk and is much more like tea (I'm assuming this one has less of a bold flavor since it is water based, but that's a guess). I tried their Adeni. Verdict: A-Fluffin-Mazing, hands down. Incredible. In fact, I can't even think of an appropriate word to express my taste buds' sheer adulation! Seriously, I am in awe of the flavors my tongue experiences this eve. Clearly, in case you need written proof, I now declare this Adeni Chai to be my new first choice for liquid enjoyment. By far! Originally started in Detroit, this one the first in Ohio, I'm sure as heck elated another Yemeni spot is now added to the list here in Columbus - bonus points that their Adeni chai is outta this world! read more
It's such a treat to finally have a Yemeni coffee spot in Columbus, downtown Columbus at that. I've heard about Qahwah House, being that they have locations in Detroit that I'm familiar with... but I never got a chance to give it a try until they opened up here. If you're not familiar with Yemeni coffee, it originated in Yemen centuries ago, and is said to be the first source of coffee ever, in the world. If you're a coffee lover, this is something you gotta try. I visited on a mid-morning during the week and the place was fairly quiet and there were a few people in there studying. Definitely a good spot to go get some work done alongside a nice pick-me-up. The service was top-notch. The lovely cashier working took their time to educate me on their coffee, as well as the pastries in their case next to the register. Everything looked delicious. Thankfully, they were able to help me narrow down my choices. I went with the honeycomb bread that's stuffed with cream cheese and drizzled with organic honey and the pistachio milk cake. Both were incredible, but if I had to choose one or the other, the honeycomb bread is definitely the superior choice. As for coffee, I went with a more typical latte, mainly because I can't do dairy and the other more traditional Yemeni options had dairy already mixed in. That being said, it was incredible and I sucked it down a lot quicker than I normally do. In my opinion, Columbus has a pretty good coffee scene and Qahwah house is an excellent addition. I think they'll do well and I can't wait to go back. read more
I am not a coffee expert and get a headache from strong brews but in my global travels I could always drink what the locals have. Especially in Turkey, Italy, and Ethiopia - well this place, a Yemen style coffee shop, is quite similar with its brews tempered with cardamom, honey, and spices! The host dealt with my french pronunciation of the order lol and corrected me gently saying 'you will get it in time when you come back'! And come back I will for the large seating with a rooftop and the reasonable priced culinary trip with my Jubani and Sabaya pastry under $12 total. As Columbus embraces it's place in the global economy it is nice to also see a mix of people enjoying human interaction over a great cup of coffee. read more

Very open and lots of light with the big windows. I love the map & Yemeni culture that is evident not only on the menu, but the decor as well. The rooftop wasn't yet open when I went so excited to go back again! We tried the Khaliat Al Nahl (honeycomb bread) and it's the best I've had locally. We had the Yemeni Mofawar coffee which has the perfect amount of sweetness and cardamom flavor to it. We went on a Sunday so parking was free. read more

Got to check Qahwar House yesterday for their grand opening! The service was great! It was very spacious! I loved the pistachio iced latte and their hot honey comb dessert was so good! I highly recommend those two! They have a rooftop patio! They said it should be opened next week. This was my first time trying Qahwah House! There is a big parking lot across the street from the cafe which is super convenient (payment needed but very affordable). It's a pretty large space with a lot of tables (I went with a group of 6 and had no trouble finding a spot :)). Service was great and the servers took their time explaining the menu. I tried iced Yemeni latte which had spices like cinnamon and cardamom. I asked for light sugar which was perfect. I also got lemon cake which had lemon custard in the middle. It was definitely on the sweeter side but still very moist with great citrusy flavors. I would for sure go back!! read more
