Walking in here felt like I got teleported straight to Yemen or Jordan, minus the jet lag and my uncle yelling at me to get married. The smell of cardamom and coffee wasn't just good, it was like getting a spiritual hug from an angel with perfect skin. The Arabic calligraphy on the wall? Gorgeous... but reading it made me realize I'm now functionally illiterate. Looked like a sacred riddle from God and I failed the test. Then came the pastry. We also tried the honeycomb, which was fresh, sweet, and went perfectly with the tea. Service was a little slow since it was busy, but overall it's a great place to relax, work, or just hang out. Although at this point I have been to all of the Qawah Houses in Michigan, I think that this one on Michigan Avenue is my favorite. The interiors are all pretty much the same, but this one had a different vibe. It felt like it was fun and exciting to be here. It does get quite busy and the line is always really long, but it moves semi quickly. I got my kids cake pops and they were really small, smaller than they looked in the case, so we we went back and got two more per kid. My favorite is always to get the yemeni pot with the adeni chai. We got an iced matcha with coconut and a pistachio latte to go and we liked the matcha a lot more than the pistachio latte. We also enjoyed the honeycomb bread and the pistachio cake. I look forward to coming here every time we visit Michigan! read more

Private area for parties. 4-6 food trucks in the parking lot and seating outside as well as an outside tented area. There is an app to order from any spot in here, that works for a group to order and pay. The app wasn't working for our team today. Had to use Apple Pay. Grabbed some lunch with my colleagues. Ordered a Turkish black coffee. It's cooked on their electric stove top. It's piping hot and strong. A staff member described the hazelnut or pistachio dream dessert as similar to a cheesecake but with denser texture and lighter mouthfeel and she was exactly spot on. I would order the hazelnut dream dessert again. Pistachio milk cake was good, but need to be in a mood for heavier sweets to fully enjoy. Always a delight. The treats and tea are of excellent quality. Very clean interior with beautiful restrooms. The setting is open, yet somehow intimate. The aromas inside are intoxicating- you are immediately welcomed by a rainbow of spices that soothe and uplift. The decor is worldly, and reminiscent of a bygone era. The mosaics are modern, the maps are historic. I try and try but the adeni chai always wins in my book. You can't go wrong with your choice of pastry, and lucky for us their menu is always expanding. Wow, I was blown away by Qahwah house. After doing my research on a trip to Detroit, I had to shortlist all the yummy food places I can try and as always Yelp did not disappoint. Thanks to all the yelpers who pointed me to this coffeehouse. Came here on a hot June day and loved the friendly service. It's such a cool coffee place. If I lived here, I would totally come here and work. The coffee was amazing and what I loved the most was the honey comb bread. As someone who fasts in the morning, I broke my habit and my fast for this and have zero regrets! Parking is super easy in this part of town. I found street parking a few blocks away and it wasn't an issue. If you are visiting Dearborn, come here to be blown away with great coffee and their honeycomb bread. Lovely place with outdoor seating as well. Had a try at some Yemeni inspired drinks. Very Aromatic interesting flavors. We we're given the wrong dessert by mistake. Felt bad for the employee who did it as he was reprimanded for it. We weren't upset and they replaced it right away.. It's such a vibrant energy with people of all ages enjoying themselves over coffee and yummy treats. And speaking of yummy treats, their Golden Basboosa and their Pistachio Cake is amazing. Place: This place is in downtown dearborn and wow a hidden gem. My roommate introduced this to me and the coffee and desserts are A plus. The ambience is perfect to study or just read. The space is huge and so you stay inside or they have a huge courtyard as well. I was shocked and even though the line is long it moves fast. Service: The service was good and I tried the cheese with honey dessert so good. I tried their chai tea and wow was really authentic. Food $: So good worth trying again. Just gotta stop by and have some caffeine! We shared one of the teas in a teapot, not sure which one. But it was good to share with 4 people. Since it was just me and my sister sharing it, we were able to get 2 cups each. Another friend ordered the same exact tea but got her own cup so she could also drink it on the go. My other sister got a latte to try. We also shared the honeycomb bread. Light and really delicious! Not sure what the cheese is but it was nice!! It had a slight sourness to it that paired well with the honey. They had a handful of other desserts to try, but I didn't know what the other stuff was. There are a number of tables outside and inside. Lots of families came around and groups of friends. It wasn't overly busy, but it got noisy since there were kids. Not a problem though! Such a cute cafe. Lots of tables and chairs. Great study spot. Got the adeni chai and the honey comb pastry(Khaliat alnahl). My friends got a matcha latte and mocha latte and loved it. The chai was semi sweet but not very spice dependent 6.5/10. The honeycomb pastry was warm and tasted like cream cheese pastry with honey on the side for you to dip or drizzle 5-6$ 10/10. Apparently there is a significant Yemeni community in the Detroit area, and this coffeehouse was my introduction to it. They claim Yemen as the origin of coffee, and the store is highlighted by a rather impressive map of trade routes carrying it around the world. However, I am not much of a coffee drinker, and preferred to sample their chai. I was glad I got it with sugar, as the herbal content had an astringent note, but the end result was certainly tasty. Their online menu undersells the variety of sweet and savory pastries they ended up having, and I ended up getting sucked into a Za'atar croissant, which delivered some savory, spicy paste inside, and a caramel cake which was every bit as delicious as it looked. The people there were a mix of hipsters (including one unfortunate soul studying for the US Medical Licensing Exam), and it was a very substantial and well-decorated space to sit in and talk for a while. read more

As soon as you walk in, you can smell the different blend of spices in the air, the walls are covered in art that is not only cultural but very family oriented. They have pictures up of the different family members. It truly felt as though i was visiting my Yemini's friends house. Its the perfect place to gather with friends and family to enjoy warm cup of Adani chai. We have visited this atleast 5-6 times now and enjoy the ADENI CHAI & HONEYCOMB bread here. I went for a yelp tasting event. This was a fun experience and I loved the chance to try all the different things. We tried a variety of the teas and coffees and I recommend the Adeni chai tea. It was a nice flavor with the perfect blend of spices. The coffee I preferred was the Mofawar. This has condensed milk and cardamom. This gives a warming flavor. I'd recommend with a little bit of sugar. Both pastries, Sabaya and Khaliat alnahi were great. The khaliat is a fluffier dough with pockets of cream cheese. This is better to take home but my preference leads to the sabaya. The flaky dough with a nice layer of honey. Yum! read more

It is sweet and just right flavors of cardamom and clove spices. They are Famous for thier pastry . It called Khalyatnahl . It is slice of cream cheese balls covered with honey syrup. Best place for yemeni coffee/chai. This location is pretty big and has a nice cozy ambiance. It can get very busy on weekends and hard to get a table. They usually open the outside area in back for extra seating. My go to order is the Adeni chai. I like that the cardamom flavor isnt so overwhelming. This is a great place to meet a friend and have a chat. I LOVE the honey comb bread (sorry I feel bad I don't know the yemini name). But wow it's so good. The only issue is last time I had it at this location, the bread was hard and almost crunchy. I happened to be in Lombard, Illinois and to my surprise, I saw a Qahwah house there. I showed my cousin this place and the honey comb bread was so fresh and soft. I'm not a big caffeine person because I'm too sensitive to it. Due to covid, I try to get here early to get a seat near the plug. 90 minutes suggestion per party. They do sanitizer between guest. Drinks: the Yemen latte wasn't caffeinated enough for me. I tried both warm and iced and it did not do it for me. I would avoid this drink if you're an avid coffee drinker The adeni coffee, the entire pot was kept warm by a candle which was adorable. However, this drink was way more caffeinated and I enjoyed it much more and would suggest it. Compared to the other location: for the purposes of studying or meeting a friend I suggest this location. I find that the other location is extremely loud and it's hard to hear others. I think it's the way the chairs are set up here that makes it more intimate. Mask are required but not everyone follows the rules so I make sure I find a space away from others. Service: The service is super friendly and nice.
