Went here to grab a coffee after brunch one day. The space is really pretty and super clean. The staff was super friendly and welcoming upon walking in. They had some delicious looking croissant pastries but I had just eaten brunch so I did not get one. I ordered the caramel macchiato and it was made to perfection. I do not like my coffee drinks to be overly sweet or too bland. Apparently, this place gets really busy at night and stays open late. We got the peach and orange cakes; both were yummy, but a bit hard to break into (would recommend cutting it at a side angle). If you're someone who prefers a smoother, creamy texture, I'd recommend the peach over the orange (the filling was a bit more like marmalade). Stopped here to grab a quick coffee/tea after a not-so-great experience at a nearby Turkish spot, and this place instantly caught our attention. The line was overflowing all the way to the entrance--always a good sign. On a quick glance, I loved the ambience. It has that cozy Mediterranean coffee-house vibe that feels warm and inviting. My friend tried to check if there were any tables inside, but it was completely packed. This is an absolutely beautiful and very elegant cafe. I ordered a pistachio latte through their website which offers a discount on the first order. They let you customize the drink in every way possible. The drink was delicious and I would order it again but there are also a few other drinks I'd like to try. The cafe was hopping when I entered. A nice mix of people meeting up with friends and family, solitary people working remotely, and people just enjoying a mid-day break. The music was classic and elegant to match the decor. I noticed they had a nice little meeting room that could be reserved through their website that would be perfect for a small team offsite. I've been wanting to try Jabal for a while and was in the area, so I decided to stop by. When you walk in, the space is very bright and open with plenty of seating and for 10am on a Sunday - they were already fairly busy. There's a large display case of desserts right at the register and their menu with various traditional offerings as well as unique flavors of drinks. I knew I wanted a pistachio latte so that's what I went with, order was $9-something (on the more expensive side, especially for a smaller drink). I received my latte pretty quick. This isn't the first coffeehouse in the area that makes their pistachio lattes like a macchiato- with the flavor on the bottom, milk then the shots of espresso... plus with the foam it was hard to try to mix the espresso into the milk without incorporating the foam too. I was slightly disappointed that the pistachio in the milk (bright green in the picture) was artificial tasting - so very similar to the Monin or Torani syrups, because just below that was actual pistachio paste which never got fully mixed in with the drink... so once I was done the paste remained stuck to the bottom. If they would've used the paste pour shots over it, then added the milk, ice and foam - this drink would've been perfect. Overall, glad I stopped in and gave it a try. read more

I only got one thing here, the golden caramel shaken espresso, and it was one of my favorite coffees I've had. The golden caramel was so delicious and blended so nicely with the espresso. I've been to Jabal twice, first time just tried an iced latte and an unsweetened almond milk matcha. Second time tried black coffee and their pistachio cheesecake. I think their pastries/desserts are better than their drinks. The coffee is just ok and if you are a matcha snob, I wouldn't recommend. Mine tasted of milk and even though it was ordered unsweetened, it tasted sweet so it seems like the matcha powder was probably sweetened. I came here for a meeting several months back and when I walked in I was floored by how gorgeous it is inside. There are textured installations on the walls that make for a beautiful sign with the lighting they have, and the whole space is so bright and airy. I remember when that space used to be a dive bar (that ultimately burned down many years ago, RIP Howell's!) so walking in to such a stylish place was slightly disorenting. hah. When I was here the place was fairly quiet (I think maybe only one or two tables were occupied) but it was also an afternoon during Ramadan so that wasn't the norm. The barista behind the counter confirmed that come sundown they were going to be PACKED. They're open late most nights (till midnight I believe) so if you're not one to go to a bar for the night you can come by here and have a lovely coffee, tea, etc, and socialize. When I first sat down I got the Jabal latte, a latte mixed with their blend of spices like coriander, cinnamon, and clove. Oh it was so good! After my meeting I stopped back at the counter for another beverage for the road. Having already consumed enough caffeine for the day I went ahead and got the mango dragonfruit refresher and it was delightful. If you're a frequent customer you probably already know this but they do have an app and online ordering which makes ordering ahead an easy task. read more

Had my first visit to Jabal Coffee House today with a dear friend. The ambiance is lovely - it is very clean, lots of natural lot, and plenty of really lovely light fixtures as well. When we arrived (about 11:30am on a Saturday) there was hardly anyone there and within an hour it was packed - and surprisingly, it wasn't very loud - they did a nice job building out the space to accommodate the acoustics of a lot of people. A great place to hang out and enjoy conversation, coffee and sweets with good friends! Now, on to the really important things! The young lady working the front register was SO great (I wish I noted her name, she had amazing bright red hair) - she made some recommendations and described the items we had questions about. She knew the top sellers and she was very welcoming and friendly. Everything we ordered was just perfect! From the cappuccino to the Adeni tea, and the sweet treats - ooooh, the sweet treats! It's not a huge selection, but it's a delightful mix of the best Turkish pastries. Chocolate coconut milk cake (trilece) is similar to a tres leches cake. It was full of flavor, a hint of cinnamon, and SO creamy! We also tried the pistachio Basboosa- this was my favorite! This is a semolina cake originating from Egypt. It was kind of the consistency of a muffin with a fresh whipped cream and some rose petals on top - not to sweet and a nice pistachio flavor. And we had a chocolate croissant - because why not?! I can't say anything bad about a chocolate croissant - it was huge, flakey, and quite tasty! I highly recommend a visit to this lovely Turkish cafe in the heart of west Dearborn. read more

They have a ton of seating options inside-- good for small to medium sized groups. They have a small private room (not sure if it's first come or reserved). There is also some outdoor seating in a nice little alley way adjacent to the entrance. Prices were similar to Starbucks. They also have a bunch of bakery items from the standard croissant to unique Arabic twists on cheesecake and milk cakes. My favorite drink is the Adani Tea (black tea w/milk, cardamon, and sugar) and my new favorite dessert is their milk cake (all flavors). Service was great as well. They serve your items on these fancy wooden trays and glass cups for in-house hot drinks or paper/plastic to-go. read more

For this coffee place, I would say this. My experiences after trying many coffee shops this one gives me a good feeling for feeling good. I have not tried everything on the menu because of time. But I assure you this, their tea is excellent specially with milk and ginger. From the pictures you know what my favorite is here and as far as my opinion, it is as good as it looks. Just as good as their service. Their pastries are nice and fresh as well as moist. It's a guaranteed by me that you will come to this place more than twice. I am going to bed. Have you come here not having such a good day you will live here having a good day. I would say their ambience is therapeutic. It was perfect to keep me up for the road trip we had at night. I don't even know what spices they put in there but everything just tastes and smells so good and...seasoned?
