I really enjoy the vibe of Qamaria. In the evening, the place is filled with friends and families playing games or just chatting, and with folks like me, working on projects. Beautiful coffee shop. At 8:15 am it took me over 15 mins to get their signature latte. Only three other people in the whole shop. If they want to stay open they will have to learn to hussel to get out coffee to customers especially post workout pre work...seriously awful service. So so Sloooooooow. I can't go back and reliably still make it to work on time. However if your goal is to sip and chill this is your place! The actual coffee was not delicious and way too hot ! It burnt my tongue. I'm so glad I found this place while in Latham! The staff was friendly, welcoming, and even helped me decide what to order. I ordered a hot Pistachio Latte and a Vanilla Tres Leches cake, per the barista's recommendation. The Pistachio Latte was a tad sweet for my taste, but I would definitely order it again, less sweet. The Tres Leches cake was delicious as well. This was a great place to post up and work for an hour with tons of space and comfortable seating. This is a super cute place inside, it's bright but comfy. The food and drinks were served on these cute little platters. The staff was incredibly friendly as well. Love to see Yemeni coffee in the Capital Region area! I specifically came to Qamaria to try one of their pistachio drinks, and that's exactly what I did. I ordered their pistachio iced latte with coconut milk...amazing!!! In addition, I ordered their carrot slice baklava...yummy as expected! It's pretty new so if you go expect to wait in a long line. I ordered iced Carmel macchiato and an almond cake. To be honest both were mediocre. I believe the drink was extra for oatmilk and to be iced and the cake was extremely dry. I waited about 10 min for my drink and cake. Qamaria (kah-mah-REE-ah) is a new modern coffee experience in Latham. They offer a large variety of both hot and cold coffee preparations. There were several Macha drinks on the menu. I saw someone enjoying a Turkish coffee, if you know, you know. Qamaria has a big selection of cakes, pastries and sweets but unfortunately for me, most contain egg or dairy milk. The owner was at the service counter helping the customer in front of me and they were inquiring about vegan options as well and were told there are none available but they're working on it. I hope to see some in the future. I ordered the Qamaria Iced Latte with oatmilk. I should have specified vegan because I'm almost certain the caramel sauce was not. Extremely crowded and noisy. The constant buzz of people starts giving you a headache before your order is even ready. The wait time was also quite long for just two coffees. I can't say I had a good cup of coffee here. I ordered a double-shot cappuccino, but it came with only a single shot. The pistachio latte was overly sweet with a heavy flavor that quickly becomes overwhelming. I was thinking about ordering something sweet as well, but I skipped dessert when I saw that the pastry display was filled with frozen products from Restaurant Depot or Moda Food. I was thrilled to hear about a new coffee place in the suburban mega chain landscape of Latham. I love coffee and usually have to drive to one of the cities to get a unique flavorful coffee. The friendly server recommended the Mufawaar coffee, a delightful blend of medium roast coffee, milk and cardamom. It tasted smooth and not at all acidic. For a pastry I chose the traditional honeycomb pastry, a seeded honey bread with cream cheese. It was scrumptious and not overly sweet. The atmosphere is very inviting. New Yemeni Coffee House, very similar to ones I've been to another cities and are trending right now. Their coffee was delicious. Beautiful pastries and staff was very friendly. They provided quick service and were very helpful. Unfortunately the bathrooms were filthy which is why I gave it four stars. Was kind of surprising as the rest of the restauran was very clean. Just an FYI, it was a little different than some of the other coffee places we have been to. It seemed more of a family meeting spot on Sunday when we were there, which is totally cool. I highly recommend this place. Don't miss their rose tres leches cake. I had the pistachio tres leches last time, and it was good, but the rose tres leches is amazing. If you're familiar with it, it's a little like Rooh Afza, or "Soul Refresher," a favorite drink in Pakistan and India made with roses, and it's supposed to cool you down in the summer heat. So good and very pretty. Last time I was here, they had free dates for Ramadan, this time there was a large tray of nuts and dried fruit for anyone to enjoy anytime free. They're sharing the hospitality of their culture, and I like that. Cute seating. Respectful service. They're near Walmart and other stores, so there's a lot of parking. I am so excited to have Qamaria in the Capital Region! I first visited a Qamaria location in Buffalo and I was instantly obsessed. From the beautiful atmosphere to the delicious drinks and desserts, this spot is EVERYTHING. I went during their opening weekend and the line of people moved fairly quickly. They have a ton of staff members behind the counter and a large digital menu on the wall. My fiance and I got the iced pistachio latte, Turkish coffee and the pistachio milk cake, which is pistachio Tres Leches. We were given a buzzer to alert us when our order was ready. There's ample seating to choose from so we snagged seats and waited about 10 minutes for our order. Everything was fantastic! The Turkish coffee was just like other traditional ones we've had and the iced pistachio latte was delicious. It was definitely sweet so if that's not your thing, you could possibly ask for it to be less sweet. The pistachio milk cake was divine! I've been thinking of it nearly every day since. I cannot wait to return and try more menu items. I will say the space is large and has tall ceilings so it can get noisy if there are a lot of people. I don't think it would be a good spot to get work done unless it's during a less busy time. It is a great spot to meet loved ones and enjoy drinks and dessert. We were traveling to Canada and drove through the area, surprised to see a Qamaria. I've been to locations in Michigan, Texas, and Florida but didn't realize there was one in up state NY. We learned they had just opened this weekend and from the looks of it, the community really came out to support. Being new, it was obviously clean and looked fresh. The bathroom was clean when I went but one was out of paper towels but I let the staff know. The decor was in line with other locations. The drinks and dessert we got (adeni chai and bischoff honeycomb) were as tasty as expected. The staff were nice and handled pressure from the long lines and busy dining area. There were so so many delicious options that it was nearly impossible to choose just one. On this visit, I tried their iced pistachio latte, Sana'a hot coffee, rich chocolate cake, pistachio crumble cake as well as a kataifi roll (middle eastern pastry with an airy shredded phyllo texture). I think the food is from an outside food vendor bc I saw the same items at another Middle Eastern coffee shop in the area. The service was good. I entered just b4 a huge lunch rush hit and received my order quickly. I decided to order another drink b4 I left. By that point, the wait to order and receive food was quite long. There were two associates and a cashier behind the counter. The cashier started to help prepare food. When I asked, the cashier affirmed that they'd had a huge uptick in business over the past week secondary to the media coverage of the little boy who passed away earlier in the week. The highlight was definitely the iced banana crumble matcha latte--it was unique, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The service was also friendly and quick, and I appreciated the plenty of open seating and tables, which made it a comfortable place to relax. Unfortunately, the pastries were disappointing. I tried the baklava along with the pistachio and hazelnut fingers, and they tasted as though they had been previously frozen. I was at Latham in my family's house and decided to stop for an Americano. I got in line and saw that this could possibly be a busy spot, and I knew it would lead to a good cup of coffee. I ordered from what I take to be the manager, Ghous B, who said, "I got it from my recipe." So I placed my order and waited. The wait was about 13 minutes to be exact for a beverage; that's a tad bit excessive, but I thought I'd be patient. However, as I saw people who ordered after me receive theirs and I was still waiting, I asked them to cancel my order because I had an appointment. At this point, it had been 16 minutes, so as I was getting my refund, the lady working behind the counter eyed me and said it's ready, as if to ease the long wait. After he gave me my refund and brushed past, she tried to hand me my drink at that moment, but he was extremely disturbed, probably because I asked for a refund. To diffuse that awkward moment, I asked to purchase the drink, and he hesitated again. Luckily, he didn't make my drink, as the situation made me very uncomfortable. Based on my interaction, I felt targeted--maybe because I'm black, like them--but he was selective in how he treated me. I won't ever go back because I have a choice, and as a business owner, never let a customer feel mistreated, no matter their race, religion, or sex. Beautiful space, if a bit cold. I wanted a latte type drink but they don't have decaf so the barista recommended the Sheeba which uses the husks and so is less caffeine (as she explained it). I found it only tasted like sweet water--not a strong coffee flavor at all. The Turkish coffee was reported to be good but not great. Overall a cool vibe & all the pastries looked great. Honestly, no other coffee shop in the area even compares to Qamaria. Latham has been needing a spot like this! The first thing you notice is just how massive the place is. There is a huge seating area, so you actually have room to breathe and enjoy the ambiance without being squeezed in next to a stranger. It's got such a great vibe for hanging out. But the real reason to come here? The milk cakes. They are seriously to die for--easily the best thing I've eaten in a long time. Their drink menu is also huge, and honestly, the drinks might be even better than the cakes (which is saying a lot). If you're looking for a new go-to spot, this is it. This new coffee shop opened up in the last month in the Walmart plaza. Conveniently located next to Orange Theory. Finally a coffee shop in Latham! One where you can meet a friend for coffee. The interior is bright and inviting. Plenty of tables. For coffee they have espresso drinks, hot and cold and Yemeni coffees w cardamom or cinnamon or cream combinations. The coffee is VERY hot! If you get sweetener, it will be VERY sweet. The pastries seem a tad expensive but very tasty. The staff have varied. The first visit when newly opened the staff were very young but friendly and apologized for the wait. The most recent visit the staff seemed more experienced and friendly, happy to explain the coffees. Things I noticed that could be improved - a sign on the door that says Open or Welcome, additional menus to look at vs the need for all to look at the menu on the far wall, better sign on where to order (in the back) and perhaps management could take their calls in the back. read more
