Step off the sidewalk and this hush‑hidden Hialeah spot comes alive--ovens humming, tickets flying, crew locked in and genuinely kind. There's a single table by the door if you want your slice the second it lands. Cuban‑style pies lead the charge: airy, tender dough with a bronzed rim, a bright tomato kick, and a generous, gooey melt. Keep it classic with pepperoni, or go custom--double cheese, veggie stacks, or bold meats--mix‑and‑match halves if you're indecisive. Quick bites also are rich in flavor! The non‑negotiable? The mamey milkshake. Thick, velvety, and spun to order, it tastes like Miami in a cup--lush, tropical mamey with a creamy finish and a swirl of sweetness inside that plays perfectly against a salty slice. Pair a pepperoni pie with that mamey shake for peak sweet‑savory contrast, or run it alongside a veggie build for a cool, fruity counterpoint. Add whipped cream, call it dessert, or sip it straight through the meal--either way, it's the must‑have move. Low profile, big flavor, and a signature shake you'll crave on the drive home. Add it to your Hialeah hit list.

A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Hialeah - A Must-Try Cuban Pizza Spot! I've driven by this Cuban pizza joint in the heart of Hialeah countless times and always noticed it packed with people. Curiosity finally got the best of me, and I decided to give it a try -- and I'm so glad I did. The location itself has some history -- it used to be a Checkers years ago. The building is still small, with two drive-thru lanes, but they've smartly added an outdoor seating area on the side, giving an inviting vibe. I pulled up to the drive-thru and ordered a ham and cheese pizza along with a mamey shake. After paying at the window, I was asked to park in one of the numbered spots in front to wait for my order. Less than 8 minutes later, an attendant came out and brought the food right to my car -- super quick service! Throughout the entire process, the employees were genuinely friendly and courteous. Now, the food -- absolutely amazing. The pizza crust is that classic Cuban dough -- thicker than traditional pizza but not too thick -- just the right balance. It was soft, slightly crispy on the edges, and full of flavor. The ham and cheese combo hit all the right notes. The mamey shake was a standout too. It came swirled with caramel and topped with whipped cream. Creamy, flavorful, and the sweetness was perfectly balanced -- not too overpowering, just right. I'll definitely be coming back to explore more items on the menu. This place lived up to the hype and then some. A true local gem!

Service was a little slow on a small to go order but acceptable for a busy day on a Friday night. The place was full on the seating area and other people were waiting at the window of the old checkers location. Staff is very friendly and Cuban Pizza was really good

Our favorite time to visit is Sunday brunch, especially since they have a special menu. We recently came for Father's Day, and even though Julio was celebrating as a father himself, he was working incredibly hard to make sure every guest had a great experience. You can really see how much heart and dedication he pours into his business. As expected on Father's Day, there was a bit of a wait, especially since we were a larger party, but none of us minded. To thank us for our patience, Julio generously brought out croquetas for the table on the house, which was such a thoughtful gesture. I can't recommend Trigo Café enough. The food is consistently excellent, the service is warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere feels like home. While brunch is our favorite, their lunch and dinner are just as great, and the new tapas and wine area they recently added is a fantastic addition. If you haven't been, you're missing out!

I stopped by after the lunch rush to have a hialeah heat sandwich was the perfect version of typical cuban sandwich with a kick. I loved the touch of spicy in my sandwich. I also had a cafe bom bom that was really good. Loved the condensed milk. The girl who served me was very attentive to me when I visited and helped me with any questions i had; made me feel very welcomed. When i couldn't finish my coffee she packed it up for me in a to go cup.

I visited miami 30 days ago. I stayed the for a whole month and got the chance to visit Mayors Cafe…read more3 times during my stay. I used to live down the street and would come here at least once a week , other days I would only stop by on my way to work for my favorite Cafe con Leche. There's something about your cafe con leche that makes me fall in love with it every single time. I moved to California where I'm originally from but everytime I have a chance to get on a flight my destination is Miami, this last time I came my sister which she also loved the cafe con leche... now we both GOT To make it to mayors cafe everytime we go Miami. I mean all the food is great, good portions and flavor , service is good, we get everything we need on time every time and the restaurant is small but cute and clean, I love the quotes they write on the small white board too.... I will be back very soon! Thank you!

Come with me to Mayor's Cafe located in Miami Lakes. They offer a selection of breakfast and lunch…read moreoptions. This was my first visit, and we tried a few of their dishes, and they were all decent. To start, I had their Cappuccino, which was delicious and straightforward. I had the Mayor's Skillet Breakfast. It was decent, but it felt like it was missing a sauce or aioli. The skillet was very dry and lacked seasoning. I also tried their French Toast, which was perfectly cooked and fluffy. My sister had the 2-2-2, a classic eggs, bacon, and pancake breakfast, and my brother had The Cid, one of their sandwich. He said it was good, but lacked seasoning. Overall, Mayor's Cafe was decent. The food was okay, but it lacked seasoning in my opinion. If I visit again, I will try different dishes to see if that can change my opinion.
