QFC @ REDMOND I've been to this location a couple times and have always really liked it. Great people and great products. Super easy parking right out front, gets pretty busy on the weekends as it also shares with other stores such as Trader Joes or Starbucks. The selection and food is great, always having deals especially using their QFC digital app. Overall, I really enjoy coming to this location, but definitely check out Kirkland's as it's a lot larger as well.

QFC, officially, Quality Food Center, was a local supermarket chain before they were acquired by Kroger. For all intents and purposes, this has become a three star grocery chain. There are numerous commonalities, leveraging the Kroger in house brands, that turned QFC into generic forms similar to Fred Meyer. The "Quality" that it once stood out for has been normalized. However, I am choosing to write a review for one reason. I love their "WooHoo" items. Though the WooHoo items are throughout the store, produce, diary, and bakery departments are gems for last minute buys at very reasonable, if not simply low costs. If you can be flexible with your meal planning, you'll find great deals. FYI this parking lot is very busy, especially on the half with Trader Joe's. Always park on the other side.

    Self checkout hardly works

Worst QFC for miles around. Always one slow cashier. Huge line for self checkout. Zero help across the board. Older looking veggies. Dilapidated meat counter. Fire that manager. Go to Trader Joe's next door...

All three words of QFC's title ring true to me. There is food here, it is of a high quality, and it is located in a convenient location that is close to my home. Wow, that's like everything to love about a store. There is another QFC in Redmond only about half a mile north from this one, and I still don't know why they built two of them so close together, but how can you complain about having too much good food? I've been coming to this store for years. I remember how back in around 2003, I would ride my bike here to use the free internet on their public computers in the cafe. I don't know what happened to that; I still wonder when and why they took those computers away. That's the only time I can think of where a grocery store let people use computers for free. I also remember using the pay phone at this QFC to make way too many collect calls to my parents when I was younger. Now, I like to visit their bakery to buy tarts. These tarts can be quite big and usually require a one-day notice before you can pick them up; they normally don't have them ready and thus need some time to make the treats with specific requests. If you ask for strawberries, kiwi, blueberries, and raspberries, they'll make an exquisite work of art for you that is a joy for the taste buds as well. It's so beautifully crafted that you'd think it came from a smaller private bakery or something. This QFC has always satisfied my expectations with its clean and professional atmosphere.

Not the largest QFC, but still very nice. They have a great staff, Starbucks and all of the essentials!

I'm not usually a fan of QFCs - they tend to be more expensive than most grocery stores.

Second, the prices are way out of line with the TWaM store a few miles away. Their regular prices are so high that TWaM regular price beats their sale price by $5. I guess this is why employees eagerly ask what you're looking for and then walk you to it and grab it off the shelf for you. They don't want you seeing the high prices and walking out like I did. Don't even get me started on their bogo scam. Go elsewhere and maybe something useful will take their place when they finally move out. Compare 4 Roses small batch and small batch select with Bevmo and any other area retailers and you'll see. Small batch select is $86.99 at Bevmo, under $60 at TWaM. Even grocery stores beat these guys prices by as much as 30%. It's outrageous gouging and this company doesn't deserve anyone's business.

We found a German egg liquor that is just about impossible to find in the states especially not around Christmas time which was so exciting. We also found a half price pumpkin vodka, butterscotch Schnapps, and chocolate liqueur. The prices weren't too bad, but of course, the Washington state taxes were ridiculous. If you are looking for a specialty alcohol and need a couple groceries as well, I would suggest going to this store since it is all in one place, especially if you happen to be in the area. The person who checked us out seemed nice enough, but was not very knowledgeable about some of the specialty products. That was OK though since we didn't really have questions about anything. The store is laid out in a fairly easy to navigate way with similar alcohol types together and groceries way in the back.

The…read moreinteraction with one staff member, Susan, felt awkward and uncomfortable--it almost felt like an interrogation. She asked if my friend and I were related because of the same-household rule. This seemed harmless at first, but when we explained that we were just friends, she responded with an "uhhh mmm, okay" tone that felt odd and dismissive, almost like we were lying. Considering every past World Market I've been to, staff would say "congratulations" or "nice job" instead of giving off that vibe. Susan mentioned she's had issues with families all getting one, but then another staff member, Ryan i believe, clarified the rule was about household--not relation. This left us confused, because hypothetically, had we been sisters, there's no way to know if we lived in the same household or not. The question of asking us if we were related could've been resolved after checking our IDs, which is required anyway to claim the prize--and she could've seen we didn't have the same last name. She could also have phrased the question better--asking if we lived in the same household rather than if we were related--rather than making assumptions based on our appearance. On top of that, she asked us three times where we found our eggs, and i genuinely feel like one answer should've been enough. We've participated in egg and Christmas hunts at other World Market locations in the past, and this kind of questioning has never happened to this extent. The way I was treated didn't feel fair or professional, and it made the experience unnecessarily uncomfortable. I found Susan, well...annoying. The only positive was Richard or Robert (someone named like that), who was kind and helpful, which we appreciated. Still a cute event, but the communication and approach this time left a lot to be desired.
