I'd like to share a very disappointing experience on July 5th, 2025, that I had at Kitchen & Market at the Medina location. While shopping for groceries and enjoying a coffee with my friend Jane at the store, I politely asked for a cup of water. To my surprise, I was told -rather curtly- that water is only available for purchase. This was unexpected, especially since during a previous visit, I had been offered water with my coffee without any issue. When I expressed my confusion, the staff member (a woman of Far East origin) continued to be dismissive and rude. I found the interaction unnecessarily abrasive and not at all in keeping with the welcoming environment I had experienced before. Another Google review also describes a similarly combative attitude, perhaps from the same individual. If she remains on staff, it could seriously impact the business's reputation. I'll be steering clear of this location." It's unfortunate that a thoughtful concept--one that Stephanie clearly put care and intention into--is being undermined by poor customer service. Experiences like this can have a lasting impact on customer loyalty. It felt as though the staff member would have rather been anywhere else--and unfortunately, that lack of enthusiasm came through in the way she treated paying customers. I support sharing this feedback, especially since Stephanie--the owner--isn't likely to witness these interactions firsthand. Multiple honest reviews about the staff may help paint a more accurate picture of the experience customers are having. On a more positive note, my friend's sons really enjoyed everything she picked up from the store. She sliced up some cold roast beef and sautéed it with green beans and Stephanie's stir-fry sauce - it turned out great. Today I stopped by the Medina location again. I planned to buy ONE item and once again bought way more than planned! One heaping shopping bag later, I was on my way home. Since my first visit, they had a lot of new items out on the shelves. I also noticed that almost everyone who came into the store was greeted by name! Such a gem food shop in the middle of Medina. They moved here a year ago (2023ish) bringing new air and options for the Bellevue/Medina community. Before it used to be a convenience store with regular brands, while Kitchen and Market offers their own brand healthy food. The new look of the store is adorable!!! They have their own bake goods, salads, juices, dipping sauces, sandwiches, the list is long. They also have a nice selection of wines AND they also carry green products: such as reusable utensils, cups, candles, presents for any special occasions. My favorite part is that they have these packages/ready to go to prep your own dinner. Organic type AND yummy. They're super friendly and they'll show you around and answer any questions. read more

We were first introduced to Kitchen & Market at a Yelp event and then have been back a couple more times. It's a small, cute store with a lot of options. On our last visit, we have picked up Chicken pot pie, Panna cotta, and breakfast oats, along with some fruit and cheese. Located in Medina next to the post office! What can I say other than it's the cutest little store but also the best for delicious meal options as well as baked goodies. Their wine selection is always on point and they have ready to make meals by Ethan Stowell! Win! They have wonderful ready made salads and so many options for that perfect charcuterie board! Take the time to make your way here or visit there other locations, pike place market and Mercer island. It's so worth the trip. I came to this Medina location for a Yelp event and ended up buying a few things while there.What a cute place! Kitchen and Market is a super small but very full store with very friendly staff. The locals seem to love this place as well. They offer free wine samples and we had meatballs in red sauce. The wine was a red blend and the meatballs are made in their Sodo Commissary kitchen. I loved the meatballs as they tasted great and were just the right size and red sauce with them. For sale are a lot of freshly prepared meals, sandwiches, salads, soups, desserts, freshly made pasta, etc. throughout the store. Kitchen and Market seems to focus on offering a lot of local brands like Theo Chocolates, Seattle Chocolates, Frans Chocolates (I like chocolate!) and many other local brands. Some items even had a small placard on display describing the local company and how they're made or a small bio of the owners. Very nice touch. I bought some freshly made Bucatini pasta to go with the meatballs I got and some French Brie and a frozen smoothing cup fixings and can't wait to try all of them! read more

The food i purchase was awesome. Purchased chicken salad love the dill. Also purchased a sandwich (totally amazing. Love the fresh mozzarella. They had samples of the pimento cheese and onion dip . Enjoyed both but my favorite was the pimento cheese dip. They have a great selection of wine, cheese and everything you need to cook with and eat eat eat! Love the prepackaged salads, sandwiches. I highly recommend them. The associates working here are very very nice, friendly and knowledgeable. Great atmosphere and amazing selection (can't stop talking about the selection). read more

First off this place is super cute and the vibe is new, fresh, clean, fun...walking around to see the different types of items for sale was interesting. We were there to pickup items from an Elite event but saw some wines for reasonable price for a small business and figured we would give them a try. They have premade meals you just heat up, items for sale with really clean ingredients, samples of fancy onion dip served on crostini with tuxedo salt. Honestly I didn't expect the sample to be as yummy as it was. The workers were kind and smiling which is always a plus nowadays! There were aspects of the store that were a bit pricey- like a packaged meal for $60... but then there were other items like the wine that were less than $20 that seemed more affordable for a small business catering to a variety of incomes. I love the idea of clean fresh ingredients in pre made meals that you just heat up- but the price ranges I saw were out of our price range for a meal that would feed four plus have leftovers. The only reason it got knocked down from five stars to four is because there are a good number of items we just couldn't afford to buy on the regular...and would be a bit much as a splurge even once in a while. Otherwise the concept is great! We look forward to more stores opening and possibly with the increase in supplies some of the prices might come down a bit to accommodate the average family's needs and price range affordability. The wine itself was very tasty. I always feel like spending more than $20 on a bottle of wine, when I'm not sure if I'll like it, is risky... the white was $18 and the red was $15. We enjoyed both wines very much. The Pino Grigio was fresh and smooth. Nice hints of fruit, but not too sweet- not dry (which was great bc I don't like dry wine) and wine dances on the tongue with a little tingle. Aroma is of fresh fruit- very pleasant smell. I love supporting local businesses, and this is one I continuously support. I love how easy their meal kits are, and as a house of 2, we usually get two days worth of meals (or leftovers for lunch at work!). Everything is flavorful, and you can tell it's made with high quality ingredients. They carry a ton of local companies' product, and some produce as well. I love this spot because you can grab lunch and walk 300 feet to the park and have a good little picnic. Also a solid spot to stop while cycling. Did a virtual Yelp Elite baking class with this location of Kitchen and Market and it was so fun! We got to come here and pick up our ingredients bag and do some shopping. I love this little market and hope they open one closer to me! I think they were saying possibly Totem Lake next?.... which would be amazing because that are is flourishing in different restaurants and markets. They would do well there. The people working here are so kind and they even gave me a free fresh cookie! Straight out of the oven! That made my day :) Some things I bought while here were some chocolate candies and a sandwich. The sandwich was pretty good, but nothing to write home about. I definitely want to try some of their fresh squeezed juice and homemade soups next time. Perfect for the fall weather! I also loved that they have so many fresh prepared meals. These would be perfect to keep in my fridge or freezer when I don't want to spend too much time cooking. Each meal has cooking instructions on it, and I would say that the meals could feed 2-3 people. They aren't huge. They also have a decently sized wine wall with so many different blends from all over! I did not know they do free wine tastings.... will have to check that out next time. Hi - food, blah. Prices, nah. Store, ah - did I just walk into a grocery store where I think I'm better than everyone else and the prices and quality don't match the attitude - yah. The Potato salad had dirt in it. The produce I bought, rots in a day. The small bagged candy had mold. The cookie was nothing special guys, but nice try. I think the employee's name was Dave, but he was talking to other employees and the level of rudeness coming from him was incredible. Not worth the drive down my street. Sorry. read more

Wow. Such a stark contrast to the gem that used to be there, the REAL Green Store. In its place is a soulless, snobby, WAY overpriced ($4 for a candy bar) market. The girl at the market looked very, very unprofessionally dressed as if she rolled out of bed. When I asked if they had coffee, she acted as if I was trying to order Taco Bell takeout saying "we only have drip coffee and hastily stated "We are under new management". I guess so since half the store is devoted to wine but they can't even serve any coffee. Sad days here in Medina. This place is a very very poor substitute for the Medina Market. All the upscale snobs of Medina are over the moon about this place. RIP common folk regular old Green Store. Count me out of this snob hole. I'm sure they will rake in millions of dollars. But the soul of the place is gone for good as is the city. read more

The cutest corner store! We stopped for a quick snack and was surprised by how cute this place was! One of the nicest corner stores! A very large selection of produce, pre-packaged and prepared foods and drinks. A large selection of beers, wines, breads and gifts. This place is the worst thing I have ever been too. I have never tasted a more sour beverage in my life. A drink listed as "blueberry limonade" tastes like too much lime not enough blue. The old green store sold staples from our childhood arnold palmer cherry coke charleston chew now we are relegated to the pitfalls of ollipop and overpriced swedish fisht. Why is one third a box of swedish fish and a plastic case that says lots of fishies cost 5 dollars please give me an answer? read more
