    Almond croissant
    Shantala A.

A quick early morning run to get milk and I couldn't resist drooling at the delicious almond croissant. The buttery flavor when it's bit into and the taste that's spread throughout the tender, flaky layers is mind blowing! How does one walk out without grabbing one?

This is my local PCC. As you know PCC has an emphasis on fresh and local food. I love the pre made food from the kitchen here which only uses the best in class ingredients. In addition they often have Great deals for members. My most favorite thing to buy is the grilled chicken thigh which I can eat four of at the same time.

I haven't gone to this place many times. But I was very much impressed by the service at this place. The employees are so nice an helpful. The produces are fresh and value for money. Loved the bakery and hot bar there! Some scrumptious options there. Great place!

You can't tell but there are at least 2 gnats in a the jelly HAVING A JELLY BATH!!

I'm sorry I have to post this as a sanitation warning to all. This store is one of the worst I've been to in terms of flies in their bakery and coffee area. They leave a lot of their baked goods out in the open and I see flies and gnats all over them every time I come in. No one cares. I often walk by their case and notice the doors are left open by customers. So sad. At my last visit I saw this...flies eating the jelly off a goodie. Not so goody. How about a fly trap or something to protect people from getting sick?!? And doors that automatically gently close? Or an alarm goes off if left open? Or a sign?? It just is not sanitary and I don't think I'll be purchasing any of these items again. Someone is going to get sick.

My favorite grocery store when I feel like splurging. Recently expanded deli offerings including made to order taco bar and pizza. Many organic and healthy choices throughout the store. They have wonderful fresh flowers and plants too. Sign up early for their wonderful cooking classes.

Way too expensive and the selection isn't great. The vegan options are minimal. Support your local Farmer's market instead.

In long Maybe it's just me, but it seems like they used to stock a much wider variety of specialty produce (among other things) here. The shelves and cases are all still full, and the quality is good. But you used to walk through here and see at least half a dozen things that practically no other stores had on hand. They still have good stuff, though--no doubt. The bakery section was super tempting, and there were dozens of choices among meat, fish, and poultry. The produce section is really big for this size of store--imagine if Trader Joe's focused on fruit and veg instead of snacks and frozen stuff, and you have a general picture of the ratio. Prices are a bit higher here than TJ, but not unreasonable. Quality is very good (esp. on produce). There are long aisles of shelf-stable condiments, packaged stuff, tons of spices. They definitely aim first at the home cooks who think of themselves as home cooks, and secondly at the folks who just know they need good groceries. Beer and wine are just a few basics, maybe half a small aisle. They had a few solid manager's specials going today, and the staff were all very nice (if not very bubbly). I'd happily shop here if I didn't have to drive past half a dozen other supermarkets that are all good options. So, I'd shop here if I lived in Mill Creek, essentially.

Got Tyson in a costume…read more Sprouts' own staff confirmed the store-brand chicken is Tyson and Perdue -- the two most industrial meat operations in the country, dressed up in a wholesome label and marked up for the story. Now they're rolling out lab-grown "cultivated" meatballs grown in a steel tank. A store that sold itself on real food, close to the soil, now peddling factory birds and bioreactor protein. There's no farm. There's no market. There's a marketing department with good lighting. One star, and only because zero wasn't an option. I'll spend my money where I can look the rancher in the eye.

I would almost call it serendipity, but I was certainly searching for something, I just didn't know exactly what. I had a day off and had spent the earlier part of it wandering, looking for any remaining independent produce stands, butcher shops, or just something that felt like it would nourish and heal me because I had been feeling....well? physically, emotionally, existentially, and psychologically, like absolute crap. Historically I've spent years independently studying nutrition and biochemistry, herbalism and traditional medicine, but over the years I'd strayed from those things and lost my way. All this to say I may have forgotten some things but I recognize when someone else knows their stuff. I wandered into Sunshine Corners, originally for a good sandwich and maybe some produce. What immediately struck me was how comforting this place was, and how much it felt like the old school apothecaries or coop's before they became adulterated by mainstream capitalist influences. Stay with me here. I overheard Tony talking to one of the people at the front desk and immediately realized "ok, that guy knows his stuff". Meekly, when he had a moment, I walked over to him and basically, in a sort of desperate manner, laid out my litany of aches and pains and mysterious ailments, expecting an abrupt hand waving answer. That is not what I got. Tony spent what might have been somewhere between 45 minutes and an hour with me, patiently asking me questions and pulling out reference literature. He recognized things in me that no one else had been able to see, and pointed me in a direction that has allowed me to focus on actually getting better rather than just collapsing in frustration. Tony, if you're reading this, the time you spent helping me meant so much to me. Your years of wisdom made a huge impact, but more importantly, your humanity.

Now Kroger is trying to eat Safeway, and QFC jumping the gun by preemptively taking a nose dive. For years, people called this store "the new QFC" because it was newer and nicer and shinier (and, imo, better-smelling) than the one a couple blocks over. We didn't know how good we had it then! This particular location used to be clean, well-organized, well-stocked, and appropriately staffed. Variety and quality of foods (especially produce) seems to have taken a downturn. Now, pick 2 of those at any given time and you'll be lucky. Less pharmacy hours, never anyone at the customer service desk, a giant bay of tiny u scans with one harried employee trying to deal with everyone's coupons, misweighed items, and produce with no stickers. Locked cases popping up all over the store, but only one or two employees in the entire store who can open them. Worse yet, a lot of the stuff in the cases doesn't have pricetags, so you just have to guess - not great for what are ostensibly some of the most expensive items in the building. Don't bother asking that employee who unlocked the case for you; they probably already have a gaggle of other customers following them around like the pied Piper, waiting for them to unlock some other case on the opposite side of the store. To be exceptionally clear in case some corporate scrooge reads this: none of this is the employees' fault, they are doing the best they can, and this is all clearly the consequence of corporate cost-cutting measures. I'd give it 3.5 stars because it's not the *worst* QFC on the eastside (I'd put it solidly above the 50th percentile, which says a lot about the state of the brand), and it's definitely still better than "the old QFC", but it's a marked downturn from what it used to be in years past (even post Kroger merge)
