I discovered this joint when they opened a location in League City. Fat egg rolls. Delicious hot & sour soup. And everything else was flavorful. It was an excellent little takeout Chinese place. But they sold that location and just operated their main store in Texas City -- which was still worth the drive from Seabrook (seriously). We like to travel around and try different places, but we always compared every neighborhood Chinese takeout joint to Qing Qing. Sadly, I don't think we'll be going back anytime soon. This past weekend, we burned some gasoline to go pick up an order of steamed dumplings, sesame chicken and hot & sour soup. Oh... and some plump egg rolls. When we arrived home and unpacked the bag, we were extremely disappointed. Though the service was quick, everything tasted like the kitchen was (too) quick as well. The chicken was as dry as the Sahara Desert, while the dumplings were as mucky as a Louisiana swamp. The soup was OK, though I had to doctor it, but the egg rolls were definitely Sysco ... and not the plump crispy goodness that we had become accustomed to. I wouldn't post a review like this if I thought a business was having a bad day. I mean, we all have bad days. But this was different across the board. We ordered the beef Lo mein, the potstickers, the hot and sour soup, the wonton soup, the General Tso's chicken and the Pu Pu plate. I would not order the Pu Pu plate again, it didn't taste as good as the regular food. More like it had been sitting around for a while. The service today sucks. I made an online order at 6:04 and it said it would be ready at 6:14. I go in to check on the order at 6:15 and I am told I am still waiting on my chicken. I did not get my order to be able to head out the door until 6:33 PM. What is the use of ordering online and being given a time if you are still not going to have the food completed timely. I had heard over the years that Qing Qing is really good. From several people. My wife wanted us to try it today since they have some vegan friendly options she'd enjoy. I had a craving for shrimp fried rice and the shrimp fried rice did not disappoint. Loaded with shrimp and had very good flavor over all. The bean curd Szechuan dinner special my wife got was delicious as well. While we were ordering I saw an image of fried biscuits on the screen they have behind the counter showing pics of the foods they serve. That advertising worked because it got me wanting some biscuits. They serve them with or with out sugar. I got the fried biscuits with sugar. Good stuff. One order of biscuits is alot of biscuits. Everything was delicious and for a very good price. Portion size is good as well. I also liked the restaurant's ambiance. Small place yet it had a relaxing vibe to it. Love places like that. I think this is the best chinese sit down / take out place in town. I've only been a few times, but every time I visit, I receive excellent service and a tasty meal. My favorite dish thus far is the black pepper beef. It comes with fried rice, numerous chopped onions, black pepper, diced bell pepper, jalapeños and serranos. The food always come out hot and steaming from the kitchen and service is excellent here. Their hot spicy shrimp is not as hot as they claim. After I ordered it, they say "I've been warned". However, if you eat spicy food on a regular basis, it shouldn't be a problem. The restaurant is small and only has about 13 tables, but the turnover is quick during lunchtime and I've never had to wait for a table. read more

Although the restaurant doesn't look too appealing from the outside, I can safely say this place has some of the best Americanized Chinese food I've ever tried! At a low price of just $6.05, you get a heaping portion of food with an eggroll or soup! I was feeling pretty hungry, so I got the Mongolian Beef and Szechuan chicken specials, The chicken and beef were so flavorful and tender. The fried rice was very aromatic, and didn't leave a greasy aftertaste. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this meal. The food was spot-on and the service was delightful. This restaurant opened up about 2 months ago. It's a little small regarding seating. It would be great to consider for take-out. I had General Tsos chicken ( my favorite!) and it was very very good. The hot and sour soup was very flavorful. We got an order of fried cheese wontons just because I wanted to try them, and I could have made a meal of those. They were awesome! Hubby had the Kung pao shrimp and he said it was even hotter the next day. I can't wait to go back and get more of the fried wontons and try another dish. This was our first time ordering from Qing Qing through doordash and we were seriously surprised at the quality and the amount of food! We ordered Orange Chicken with Chicken Fried Rice and an egg roll. We also ordered Shrimp Fried Rice. The Orange Chicken was fresh with a sauce that included fresh orange slices and brown sugar and corn starch. Not the gloppy prepackaged stuff you normally get. Great egg roll and the chicken fried rice was easily enough for three people. The Shrimp Fried Rice was enough to serve at least six people. It had at least 25 fresh shrimp and it was loaded with fresh vegetables like broccoli, mushrooms, carrots and baby corn. The only reason that I didn't give five stars is that the rice didn't have a lot of flavor. Luckily, they included soy sauce and sweet and sour sauce so that fixed the problem. From now on we'll be going to Qing Qing instead of going all the way out to Panda Express. read more

You end up butting right up to tables on your right and left. 6 people in a line and it would reach to the door. He really needs to get a waitress and offer to take orders at the table. I noticed he alone takes the orders, rings up customers, refills drinks and brings out food too! My eat in advice would be to sit away from the counter for sure and be paitent. The food is delicious and made to order so be prepared for a slightly longer wait. My food has never had that thick glossy sheen like most Chinese take out does. Not sure what happened today but the food was disgusting! Maybe you just had an off day but what got delivered (which was $45.00 worth of food) was not worth the money!!! My orange chicken tasted old and bland my sweet and sour chicken was dry even with the sauce the egg rolls should of just been left empty for what little was in there and the shrimp fried rice tasted old, all the shrimp (4 shrimps) sat on top the seasoning look dried and old sticking to the onion.
