The best Chinese food restaurant in Galveston. They do a much better job than appearance would suggest.

General Tsaos chicken and pork fried rice (not a broccoli fan) but it was so good!

The place looks beat up and run down but don't let it fool you. We ordered to go and the service was pretty quick. The food was so fresh and delicious, I highly recommend. This will definitely be my go to for Chinese from now on.

So I call and order take out over the phone and all is good. We leave to go pick it up and when you pull up to the establishment and it looks run down and just god awful to the point I asked my husband "are you sure we should eat here?" He says sure so he goes in and pays and we leave. We get back to our room and this is not cashew chicken. I call them and tell them I think we got someone else's order, she argues with me and I tell her I don't want a refund I just want the right food. I explain to her what I'm looking at and she says it is cashew chicken, I tell her I really don't think it is but if this is what their cashew chicken looks like I don't want it. she tells me she will not refund me my money and hangs up on me. (super professional) so I call back and ask how we can resolve this and she says we can't they are totally unwilling to work with me in any way. DO NOT GO HERE! THE "cashew chicken" LITERALLY LOOKS LIKE DOG FOOD I also added a picture of their god awful Chicken Lo Mein

Very good portion sizes for the price. Very tasty like a home cooked meal. Very good service and it looks to be a local family restaurant.

The truth is, I didn't actually enjoy the food very much. Unfortunately, other than Panda Express, I don't think there's another Chinese restaurant here. And I would have rather had orange chicken from Panda Express than the Moo Goo Gai Pan I had for lunch at Happy Buddha. I will say this though, the service was wonderful and the building is quite interesting. Would I recommend? Nah, not really. Would I go back? Maybe, if I knew the company I was going with would be good enough for me to overlook the food.

Galveston is the only standing location, and I hope to see the second generation keep it solid, and the legacy alive. Thank you for the extra love on the fortune cookies and keeping the shrimp fried rice full of shrimp and eggs just like it was when I was a kid. I love you guys deeply! 5 Stars - Authentic Szechuan that absolutely nails the classics…read more During our short trip to Houston, as a custom, we were determined to find real Szechuan food, and luckily we found Hu's Kitchen. The location is a bit unassuming, and parking is definitely tough (the spaces are very shallow), but the second we walked through the doors and smelled the Szechuan peppercorns, I knew we were in exactly the right place. I generally judge a Szechuan restaurant by their 夫妻肺片 (Fuqi Feipian)--which they cleverly name "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" on the menu. They completely nailed it. The beef, tripe, and tendon were incredibly cohesive together, yet you could tell each component was prepared and marinated in a slightly different way to perfectly highlight its specific texture. The chili oil was right on the spot. We went through a massive bowl of rice just eating this dish alone. Honestly, if I weren't feeding a family of four, I could have just ordered that and been perfectly happy. While the Fuqi Feipian proves their skill with dry dishes, the 水煮魚片 (Fish in Szechuan Hot Chili Oil) proves their skill with wet ones. It's another must-order. The execution was flawless--we didn't just finish the tender fish chunks, we ate every last piece of cabbage soaked in that incredible chili broth. For my two daughters who can't handle the heat, we ordered the fried rice, garlic pork ribs with onion, and the 紅燒獅子頭 (Giant Meatball with Cabbage). The giant meatball was spectacular. The kids completely devoured it on their own, but I managed to steal a bite, and it instantly brought back childhood memories of exactly how this dish is supposed to taste. We also had the Dan Dan Noodles, which were great and rounded out the meal perfectly. I loved all of the dishes we tried. Should we ever find ourselves in Houston again, we will absolutely be revisiting this hidden gem.

No complaints here since we were starving from an 8 hour road trip. The Dan Dan Noodles...I had high expectations but sadly this dish fell short. I recommend Hu's Cooking to use a bigger bowl and more sauce because it was difficult to mix the noodles and the sauce wasn't...saucing, unfortunately. I wish there was more flavor in this dish. The Scallion Pancake was super over-fried and oily. See image in my review. The outer parts of the pancake were fried to a crisp and only a small circumference in the center stayed chewy. I know Chinese tends to be oily but this pancake soaked up way too much oil. Half a Peking duck: super great price for so much meat. The difficulty when eating this dish is gnawing the meat off the sharp bones of the duck. Mapo Tofu with white rice: pretty easy staple, no complaints here. Dinner on a Saturday was packed but we got seated quickly and food arrived fast.

It was an excellent little takeout Chinese place. But they sold that location and just operated their main store in Texas City -- which was still worth the drive from Seabrook (seriously). We like to travel around and try different places, but we always compared every neighborhood Chinese takeout joint to Qing Qing. Sadly, I don't think we'll be going back anytime soon. This past weekend, we burned some gasoline to go pick up an order of steamed dumplings, sesame chicken and hot & sour soup. Oh... and some plump egg rolls. When we arrived home and unpacked the bag, we were extremely disappointed. Though the service was quick, everything tasted like the kitchen was (too) quick as well. The chicken was as dry as the Sahara Desert, while the dumplings were as mucky as a Louisiana swamp. The soup was OK, though I had to doctor it, but the egg rolls were definitely Sysco ... and not the plump crispy goodness that we had become accustomed to. I wouldn't post a review like this if I thought a business was having a bad day. I mean, we all have bad days. But this was different across the board. Either the place was sold, or the owners went in a totally different direction.
