Kim is an absolute doll and I can't wait to go back! So glad I found this place (mega plus it's less than 5 min from my house!). Her prices are very fair - I paid $33 for a gel mani and regular pedi + tip. She does her pedis in the coveted bucket things, but she does have working, newer massage chairs! Most nail salons I've used in the recent past have broken massage chairs lol. Kim was gentle, but fast, and did an awesome job! She was soooo great to talk to, idk that either of us took a breath the whole time! TIP - she said on busy days, it's best to call her so she can tell you a time to come so you don't have to wait. I did that today - called at 1:30, she told me to come in an hour. I did so and only had to wait 10 min. This is def a gem of a salon, check it out! 7 months later and I still go to see Kim for my nails! She also trims my hair now, too! She really does do it all inside her salon - nails, lashes, hair - Kim is your girl! She's such a sweet lady, I jabber her ear off during every appointment! I used to be that person that paid $60+ for acrylics. I've tried all the "best" places in the area, and always left disappointed. I got tired of paying so damn much and being so unhappy. I poked around on Yelp for probably an hour, and stumbled upon this place. Lots of 5 star reviews, rants and raves about Kim and only 1 dollar sign. I was intrigued. I decided to give this place a shot and decided if I was disappointed, I probably wouldn't be paying that much anyways so what did I have to lose? I called and asked for Kim, later finding out she's really the only person here (so if you decide to give this place a try, definitely call and make sure she has time for you!). Made an appointment for an hour or so later because she was with someone else at the time. My nails were a hot mess. I had just ripped some acrylics off that I absolutely hated and them things were tough. She cleaned my nails up, a little cut and file later they weren't looking so torn up. I decided to get some acrylics from Kim, letting her know I coach volleyball so she could make them strong. She did not disappoint. I got matte black and a glitter accent nails. They looked so good! I got so many compliments. I decided to get my toes done also. She was super fast! It was a very basic pedi but honestly, I don't need all that fancy stuff with wax and hot towels. Just make my toes look cute and I'm happy, and happy I was. Last but not last, I got my lip waxed. I have the most sensitive skin ever, so I'm always worried about breaking out after. This time, I didn't! :) I left with a full set, pedi, lip waxed and paid..drum roll please...$32 dollars. Even with the tip I left, it didn't cost me the usual $60+. My nails lasted a whole month and only one of them broke (it was my fault 100% lol not volleyball or anything like slamming them or smashing them accidentally). I went back for a fill, color change, shape change, and nail replacement. When all was said and done, my happy self left with a $16 tab. Yes y'all, you read that right - $16. I've made two trips and still haven't spent what one visit elsewhere would cost. Kim is totally a one woman show as someone else mentioned. She does it all and is very nice and talkative. I will continue to come back for all my pampering needs :) read more

I absolutely love this location. I've visited others when this salon is closed and they never match how great this one is. Not only is the price amazing, but the friendliness makes it extremely comfortable and easy to feel welcome. Got ombré coffin nails for my wedding and absolutely loved them. Only reason i am giving a 5 star review is because I felt very comfortable during my pedicure... The whole time it was quiet & relaxing... The nail lady (forgot her name) was quiet and concentrated on my feet. Honestly best experience ever... Since we all hate it when the workers talk in their language and we don't know what the he'll they're saying... I am sorry but I find that disrespectful... Anyways she did a good Job on my feet & my nieces as well... Just left the nail salon lookin' like a snack! Strawberry or tomato nails, whatever floats your boat! I appreciate Kim's work ethic- her patience and her attention to detail does not go unnoticed. Kim is like my auntie- she treated me as if I was part of her family! That kind of energy is contagious and it's no wonder people give her 5 stars because she deserves it! Im so glad I found Kim! This is now my regular place for haircuts,manicures, and pedicures. I'm a nail salon aficionado , usually I know better then to trust a place that does hair and nails , but I decided to give it a try anyway and im so thrilled i did! I went in because I was really far away from my usual nail spot in Echo Park. I usually don't trust others with my nails but she did such an amazing job. They were even surprised she didn't give any type of courtesy discount considering how late she was. $3 off my callus removal is not sufficient lol. They have a 15 minute grace period for late clients, they should really have something in place for when their techs are 40+ mins late. I honestly wouldn't come back. Way way overpriced.

She then took out "xtra xtra long" and said $85 for these. So completely skipped over extra long and still charged me. Whatever , I agreed because benefit of the doubt. Once the foundation is laid, they ask me what designs I want. I showed them several pictures as inspiration and described what I would like, open to all suggestions and directions. They quoted me an additional $75 on top of the $85, and although I was completely shocked , I figured I was just out of my budget and needed to pick another design. Everything I suggested was $60+ on top of $85. Finally I asked ok what about French tip?! They said $25 extra. Okay, very expensive but I hope they look good. Keep in mind the entire time, only 1 person in the whole salon spoke English and whenever I would ask a question, my tech would yell for the English speaker very annoyed as if I was a problematic customer. I also got a full set gel x pedicure, and needed one nail repaired as it's growing back from falling off. When my tech was removing dead skin from the sides of my nail bed, she snipped my skin and cut me. In total for full set xtra long French tip and French tip gel x pedicure, I paid $190 not including tip. 3 days later, my repaired toe nail came off. Okay, maybe it was just too small of a nail. BUT THEN ON THE 4TH DAY, MY FINGERNAIL BREAKS IN HALF. $190 for basic nails, that break not even a full business week later. So disappointed, will never come back.

The walls were dirty, the baseboards were dusty, they had stuff duct taped on the chairs that were falling apart. The furniture and pillows were mismatched and the hallway to the restroom had a shredded curtain and wasn't well maintained in the back. Bathroom was pretty dirty too. * There were only three technicians working on a Saturday and the overall quality of service reflected that. *They did have AC which felt nice during this hot summer, but other than not much else going for this place. Unfortunately, despite the friendly staff the experience didn't meet our expectations and we won't be returning.

I've been going to Kim (QT Nail and Hair) for 3 years now. She never disappoints. Perfect prices, every color and option you can think of and clean. My nails always last longer than they should. The rest of the appointment went fine, we talked a bit and she did pretty much what I asked for but now that I'm home I really feel like I was ripped off. If my birthday wasn't the next day, I would've tried to find somewhere else to go.. I spent like $165 on a pedicure and gel x set with designs. Please see the designs in my photo. I did compliment my nails, I did tell her that I'd really liked them because the French she did on my toes was good! but when I got home and actually examined the work on my hands up close, the chrome isn't even that well done. The designs she drew on were sloppy! I posted my nails in a nail fb group for an opinion on my nails and experience and everyone told me it was 100% not worth what I paid. They said the execution was bad and she was unprofessional, which I agree. They were even surprised she didn't give any type of courtesy discount considering how late she was. $3 off my callus removal is not sufficient lol. They have a 15 minute grace period for late clients, they should really have something in place for when their techs are 40+ mins late. I honestly wouldn't come back. Way way overpriced.
