I love the Grand Vin. We got there right when they opened and as they started to get busy we never once felt rushed. The drinks are phenomenal. The cheeseboard is delicious and their pasta is to die for. Always recommend this spot for any occasion

Such a beautiful dimly lit restaurant with a calm yet social and lively atmosphere. It is a great place to dine at for date night or an outing with friends. I ordered the gnocchi and oh my goodness it was delicious and had the perfect pillowy texture. The meatballs were delicious as well but not as unique in flavor. Tasty nonetheless. The bartender was attentive as well and was quick to make drinks soon after placing an order in. the espresso martini was good, I'd order it here again. The total for two was around $135. Knowing what you're coming in for, it's a lovely restaurant to experience with fresh tasting dishes.

Drove over an hour to come to this place for a birthday party. This place gets at most 3 stars, mainly for the food. The reason for choosing this place for this occasion was because of live music and an amazing, authentic vibe and home style dishes. The ambiance was very nice and authentic, with dimmed lights for a romantic relaxed feeling. This is where the good stuff ends. Parking was an issue (not the restaurants fault). The place is almost tiny with a weird tunnel feeling, felt more like a corner bar with a few tables on the sides. Awkward positioning of tables made it hard to have a conversation. As I looked around to see what couples or smaller groups were doing, not much better than us, romantic dates sat soo close to other table that I'm sure they felt like they were on double dates. Service was fast and prompt. But felt like they were overwhelmed a bit and did not know the menu very well (Gnocchi was offered as a homemade pasta dish). We did not try the whole menu, so I will list the good and the bad that we did try. The salads and apps were ok, no bold flavors or seasonings were used. All dishes including the entrees were going for the visual esthetics and not flavors. We were a large group, very hungry and disorganized, the waitstaff should have guided use through the process a little better. Definitely overpriced for the experience. I understand the area and the effort to make this place look fancy, $14 for drinks, no problem, $9 for a mock-tail (club soda, ice and some juice and syrup) don't get. Finally ordered the entrees, had a hard time deciding, ended up ordering the filet mignon and a few sides. Food did not come out quickly and I was soon notified that the cut of meat I ordered was no longer available, but I could substitute a different cut done in the same style. I agreed. 15 min later I was told that the polenta is also no longer available, I subbed it for mash potatoes. After reading reviews I see that this is a very common thing for this place. Every side dish was flavorless, and my steak was too charred on the outside and undercooked inside, making it difficult to even cut (asked for medium, but it was trying to run off of my plate). The outside of the steak was so charred that it even over powered the sauce that they put on top to mask the bitter taste. I don't like to complain, so as always I didn't say anything to the waiter, however it turned out that every other person in our group that ordered steak, got it wrong. The best thing on the menu turned out to be Short Ribs and gnocchi. We had a good time, but for this price point and the travel time that it required, I will be declining to go to this place again. Hope this helps Keep eating keep living !!!

Have always gone here for girls nights and date nights. Lately, the music after 8 pm is SO LOUD. They always have someone singing and I can't hear anyone. I was at the first high top by the door So between the music and the hostesses screaming coldplay.... It wasn't enjoyable. Also It was my birthday and I put it on the reservation and they never brought out a candle. Just very little care was put toward the experiece. Food and drinks were great at least.

We had the buccatini with pesto and burrata + the black truffle gnocchi, both VERY generous portions. Our waitress was knowledgeable and offered her opinions and i really enjoyed the live music that came in around 9pm, would go back!

Came here just to relax and have a light snack. We chose the wine and cheese, which was delicious. It's a great, laid-back place to catch up with friends over a glass of wine.

A consistent five out of five stars for me every single time I walk into this place. Everything from the drinks, to the food, to the service, its impeccable. I can't recommend this place enough. The atmosphere that they create here is a cross between hanging out at home but when you wanna put your fancy clothes on and feel like you're comfortable. The cocktails and wine are on par with some of the best places I've been, but let me tell you about the food The risotto. Oh my goodness. Don't miss that if you like that. I've never had something that I didn't enjoy there from the appetizers to the main courses to the dessert. The pasta is handmade and absolutely fresh. Everything is carefully curated. And seasonal Perhaps the best thing about this place is the people who work here . They truly enjoy what they do, and ensure that every single person that walks in the door feels the same way. Thank you Grand Vin for always being my favorite place.

Welp. Unfortunately for those folks reading this too late, I had the most absolutely absurdly delicious special main course scallops I've ever had the pleasure of putting my mouth to. Yeap. That. Dang. Good. I'm not sure how long the scallops special will be on the menu, but boy should you get an opportunity to roll them around your mouth, do it! I've been to this establishment a few times for wine and a light bite or two. It was my first experience sitting down dinning for a date night. Unfortunately I couldn't have any drinks as this was a few weeks ago and I was still pregnant. It was our last hurrah before baby girl entered the world. And although she's a girl, BOY OH BOY it did not disappoint. The service was fine, my husband could have actually had his beverages tended to a bit quicker but they were busy and that's the price you pay when you get the food and ambience you get here, it's busy! We loved it for date night and it's proven to be that dynamic. Pop in for happy hour, a glass of wine with the ladies, a casual meet up, date night, or even give it a go like I did, for your last meal before sleepless nights and newborn life. Bravo, but also... I'm not surprised. A Hoboken staple that will be around for many many years to come,

So happy we stumbled upon this perfect dinner date night spot in Hoboken! The service was amazing and she provided us with awesome recommendations. We LOVED the GV chicken. It's a MUST! Can't wait to come back again soon.

    Our private room

Grand Vin did an outstanding job for our daughter's college graduation celebration. I could not have been happier with their professionalism, ease of working with them from across the country, the cute private room, the food and service! They went above and beyond and we really appreciated it. The party loved the rigatoni, the braised short ribs and the sea bass. Big shout out to Amanda and the crew at the Grand Vin!!!

Great Food and great Ambiance, came with a girlfriend for girls night and the service, food and ambiance were immaculate. The servers are friendly and attentive. My friend had the sea bass dinner and I had the grand vin chicken Milanese with Penne pasta (which initially I asked for Rigatoni) the waitress was nice enough to remove the extra charge from our check with was a nice gesture. I enjoyed the whole experience and will definitely be back!

    Ambiance

This experience was just okay. The service is a bit slow especially as we came on a week night and the restaurant looked to be half full. The servers need to be flagged down vs being attentive. The meal starts off nicely with warm bread and some pesto. The pesto is a tiny bit salty but with a large piece of bread it was okay. We only ordered pasta entrees -- the pasta special -- Tagliatelle pasta with short rib ragu topped with goat cheese and shrimp risotto. The pasta special was... not that special. There is a lot of short rib but not much else. The dish lacks a good sauce base and salt. It came off too rich and oily. I was disappointed eating this and could not even eat half. My husband liked his shrimp risotto but it came with just 5 shrimps. A bit pricey for $29 to get so little shrimp and so much risotto. Ambiance here is very pretty but I'm not likely to come back due to the food quality and lack of attention from the servers.

Are they currently open for indoor dining and if so how do I make a reservation for that?

Yes, make the reservation on Yelp.

How can I get in contact about private events?

Hey Hannah, pls go on our website, grandvinhoboken.com and fill out an event inquiry. Anne Marie our event director will be in touch with you within 24-48 hours. Hopefully even sooner :)

Do they have any area good for a semi-private party? Maybe a 15 person bridal shower brunch?

They don't have a separate room, but I have seen big parties seated in the back. It's a very cozy restaurant so I feel like it would be fine!

Do they serve mimosas/other cocktails with brunch?

Yes we do.. we have a bunch of cocktails mimosas, bloody Mary’s, sangria and other speciality cocktails

Corkbuzz is a wine bar inside Chelsea Market. While I typically find Chelsea Market a little too crowded and chaotic to be comfortable, my husband and I dropped in specifically for some wine and a snack in the later afternoon on Saturday. The wine bar is comfortable and cool. We grabbed a couple of barstools, ordered 1 wine (a Slovenian wine for me), 2 cocktails (for my husband; he liked the cocktail so much, he ordered a second), and a white bean dip with focaccia bread, that was garlicky and delicious. It was a comfortable place to enjoy a drink and a snack. I'd be happy to stop by again - if it's still open?!

The event took place in The Loft, which is a small venue, but with a great view of the stage. Doors opened at least an hour and 1/2 before show time. I do recommend arriving early to order food and drinks - service was very attentive before the show. It gets a little difficult to order food as the show is taking place. You can still flag your server, but it may take a longer wait time as the kitchen gets busier. Depending on your ticket, you may be sharing tables with other people, which I was okay with. I went with a friend to the show and ended up sharing the table with two other people. That can be off-putting for some people, so I wanted to make a note of that! Seating is several long tables or small tables stacked up against together. However, the food was delicious! We ordered a charcuterie board to share, margarita flatbread, and truffle mushroom flatbread. And of course, we had to pair our meal with wine! We ordered a delicious Riesling each. I recommend the City Winery for a date night or a fun girls' night out. They host a variety of events and wine tastings, so it's worth a visit!

For my first time at City Winery I was impressed, but also a bit confused. It's definitely a nice venue, but it could use a bit more organization. It's so huge and has different parts to dine or hang out in different areas, one can be confused about where exactly to go. This one area I was in, you could step outside onto the peer that happens to be connected and shared with other stores and restaurants. I did take pictures and videos for a better understanding. Now when it came to my experience after exploring and figuring out where to go, I ended up at the bar area and was happier with that experience over my sit down dining experience. I was told two different things when it came to ordering drinks and food from both areas. This confusion caused me to miss some time away from the musical experience. So in the end I would suggest order your drinks from the bar and bring them to your sitting experience and order your food from your sitting area. My order was also wrong and because of it what I wanted sold out, but I did end up with the best lobster ravioli I ever had in my life so a plus for that. Although it wasn't in my budget to buy, It was worth going into the wiggle fund. I do set me a budget every-time I go out anywhere. I have a spend amount and an amount for a little wiggle room. I will not go over the wiggle amount. You should do the same lol! Anyway I would recommend this place with little advice to prepare you for, if you have read this full review. Our waiter told us that the space for the JBF LTD was donated by one of the JBF board members. Very cool. Eventually, we were seated at our communal table and were given a green garden gazpacho to start. It had pickled green strawberries which were surprisingly very good. Usually you throw the green strawberries out of the bunch and only eat the red ripe ones. David Kinch opened our eyes to eating this unripened fruit and I will never look at green strawberries the same! The soup was paired with vegetable beignets and a crispy vegetable chip - both were just perfect. Our next course was my girlfriend's favorite - an abalone salad nestled on a bed of romaine lettuce coupled with grilled cucumbers and an avocado-nori sauce. I loved the avocado-nori sauce with the tender abalone. The entree came next and was a succulent porcelet with the best crispy pork skins! It was served communal style which was kind of cool. There were two cuts of meat - belly and tenderloin. My favorite part was the skins. Dessert was a lovely popover with powdered sugar. Sweet, simple, and delicious. We had different wine pairings with each course and were semi-tipsy by then end of the meal. The best treat of the night was when David Kinch and John Paul Carmona came out and greeted the diners.
