Fast forward to a month ago I found QPD and their services and immediately booked an appointment. The biggest pro for me is that they don't put him under and the price is incredible vs our own vet. Scam Alert This place will charge you whether or not they perform any actual service. We've taken our dog, Cooper, to Bark Bark every six months because they have a mobile unit from Qualified Pet Dental and it's been convenient. This visit, however, was an absolute mess and felt like a cash grab disguised as concern. They spent maybe five minutes with our dog before calling us in a tone that sounded like an emergency -- the kind of call that makes you think your dog is seriously injured or dying. We were told Cooper's lower front teeth were all loose and "about to fall out," that there was something wrong with his gums, and that he was in tremendous pain, so they couldn't proceed with the cleaning. Naturally, I rushed down there in a panic. When I arrived, it became clear that: * These were the same loose teeth they identified SIX MONTHS AGO * There is a tiny gingivitis bump behind his front teeth * Cooper was not in pain, not distressed, and not showing any signs of discomfort They admitted they could have cleaned the rest of his teeth, but chose not to because they were "concerned" it might somehow make things worse. Instead, they charged us nearly $60 for a five-minute "assessment" and sent us on our way -- no cleaning performed. Let's be clear: * A full cleaning is nearly $250 for 30 minutes * If they decide -- for any reason -- not to perform the service, you still pay * Their response when I objected? "You signed something." So yes, we paid. But it felt coercive and completely unethical. The worst part is the manufactured panic. They had us thinking we needed to rush Cooper to a vet immediately. When we got home? He was happy, wagging his tail, playful, and totally unfazed. I could touch his teeth with zero reaction. No pain. No distress. To be fair, they did identify a small gum issue that we'll follow up on with a real veterinarian -- and for that, fine. But refusing to perform the service while still charging, after scaring owners into thinking something is urgently wrong, is unacceptable. Bottom line: If your dog is slightly fussy, if they're "not in the mood," or if the tech decides not to proceed, you're still paying -- regardless of whether your dog receives any actual care. This feels less like dental care and more like a business model built on fear and fine print. Pet owners deserve better. I wouldn't recommend the service because there's a good chance your pet will show up with some other issue that they recommend relaying through anesthesia and then you're going to pay for both services. I think it's so awesome to have a traveling dental van for animals! Dental care is so important for your pet. These guys were really thorough and did a nice job on cleaning my cats teeth without putting him under. I drove down for a morning appointment and everything went really smoothly and it only took about 25 minutes. I will be booking with them Later this year for another cleaning. Had my dog's teeth cleaned by Qualified Pet Dental at Penny's Pup Wash in Costa Mesa. Making appt online was easy and they texted me for confirmation a week prior to the appt. The appt was done within 30 mins and I was worried that my dog would be too anxious but they got it done! Everything went smoothly. Except when they recommended the Oratene Brushless Toothpaste Gel and they made it sound so magical and stuff so I was sold even for $40. Tried on my dog's teeth a couple of times and both times it gave her diarrhea. So today I finally googled this toothpaste, turns out Amazon/Chewy sell these for less than $15. The teeth cleaning was $209, they asked for tips, and got us to buy the $40 toothpaste. Rookie mistake on my part. horrible experience with this company who was hosted by Pet wants in Riverside for pet dental cleaning. long story short I walked in everyone was kind to my baby until everyone started calling him at once. there was a female who had a slip leash that choked my baby with and then decide to gaslight and say " oh don't choke yourself now" and it was bad to where my baby was about to throw up. then after I came back from them not being able to do the services on my baby because they called me to go get him, good thing I was still in the parking lot. once I walked up I saw that same female holding the leash so tight my baby couldn't even run to me when he saw me. that female then suggested next time you should try bringing him medicated but for what so he can be calm enough to no defend himself & they somehow get away with harming my baby?! yea no. better safe than sorry. don't need no crocodile apology or a comment back because I'm writing MY EXPERIENCE that left me a guilt in my heart from not knowing how exactly they treated my baby. Met up with Qualified Pet Dental on a Saturday at 10:30 a.m for my two dogs dental cleaning. I had saw them on a IG post and decided to give them a try. There were at Waggs & Wiggles Daycare in Tustin. The staff sent me a text to confirm my appointment. For my two small dogs it was $179. each. They were done by 11:45. Their teeth looked amazing. I brush there teeth daily but the back teeth have always been a problem for me. I'm so glad I came and had a very positive experience. I definitely recommend looking up there pet dental clinics and taking your dog. My dogs didn't have issues with there teeth and got a good bill of health! For a short, snout breed I like the choice of having an anti-anesthesia approach. They will let you know if your dogs needs and how to upkeep on the dogs teeth! They did an amazing job checking and cleaning our dogs teeth! Her gums were inflamed but they eased our concern and said that they should clear up shortly after the cleaning, which they did. In addition, our greyhound is a spook pup but they handled her with compassion and she did great! My only complaint was with scheduling. I tried to schedule online but it indicated that the store was scheduling directly. When I called them they said I had to schedule through Qualified Pet Dental. I called Qualified Pet Dental and they called the store to verify. A little later I received a text to schedule our dog for the date and time I had requested, which was confirmed. Our dog gets her dental al cleaning every 6 months from QPD as a preventative health care. They do a preliminary health check before the dental procedure as a precaution. We try to brush our dog's teeth, but she still gets tartare build up. QPD does a great job of removing the tartar and stains on her teeth without knocking her out. I was calmly asking her questions and she responded by yelling and hanging up on me after asking why my puppy's tooth was loose Calmly. If this is how a calm client is treated after paying $240 for a service, I cannot imagine how she has the emotional intelligence to handle conflict with an upset client. Anytime a client is asking questions pertaining to a service, it's not above or beyond your job description to answer those questions. This is the first time we have done a teeth cleaning with the company and were curious about the teeth cleaning without anesthesia aspect. Luke's teeth came out great! I was very disappointed with Qualified after hearing good things about it from my coworker. Making an appointment was easy and they got me in from the waitlist which was nice. They unfortunately couldn't do the teeth cleaning because my new rescue cat has three cavities. That's okay, I understand that and it's not the reason for only two stars. My reasoning is that the professionalism I received was quite subpar. No one explained my cats dental chart to me and simply said he has three cavities which are very painful and the girl telling me this was acting like I am a terrible pet parent! Like I said this was a brand new rescue from a shelter, I had no idea he had cavities the vet I took him to his well check didn't mention anything. I was pretty appalled by the workers attitude and when I tried to ask further questions I was basically dismissed. They filled out the dental chart and charged me for an exam and put no notes on his exam chart about his well check, not sure why. Also, my cat caught a kitty cold from being at the wags and wiggles Tustin location, did they not keep him in a separate exam area that was clean then? Probably not because he started sneezing the day after his visit and has gotten sicker since. I understand that staff gets busy, but the lack of professionalism and apparent clean exam area is very disappointing. read more
