My 7 year old shitzu's skin turned pink and spotty and she started losing her hair after a couple of weeks and I was referred to Dr Dodds. My dog, Pepper also started smelling like a bad odor. After Dr Dodd did a blood test on her, she told me that her Thyroid was low and she gave her Thyroid medicine. I was s thrilled and thought we had found the problem and my dog was gonna get better,, but in a nut shell, she didn't!! We spent almost 2 years waiting and after yet another blood test,, No improvement!!! Dr Dodd had re-assured me that she had found the problem and I trusted her expert opinion. Finally, I took Pepper to Alice Villalobos in Hermosa Beach, who immediately told me that my dog was suffering from a bad SKIN FUNGUS and her condition was a 1 from 1-10 and nearly dying of it!!! She had lost weight from 11 pounds to 8 pounds, no energy, depressed and so on. To make a long story short. I was mislead,, and Yes, I know Dr Dodd has a blood bank and has helped many dogs but She DIDNT HELP MINE!! THANK YOU Dr Alice Villalobos!! You saved us!! I asked Dr. Dodds for some of the over $1000 I spent at her office for allergy test and etc back and she asked me to leave her office! Is that the right way to treat patients that put their trust in you? My dog and I suffered so much before we found help else where. She used to sit, facing the wall depressed for almost 2 years. It breaks my heart! I understand she's helped other dogs but she didn't help mine or even recommended to anyone else. We all can be wrong sometimes but as a professional, I know if my client is not happy, I have to make her happy or they will not return. I will post before and after pictures.

On February 16, 2026, I took my dog in for a rabies shot and paid a $65 exam fee. However, I felt that the doctor did not conduct a thorough check-up. The doctor checked my dog's heart and discovered that he has a heart murmur. He suggested that we do a chest x-ray, but I did not have time that day, so I asked to return on another day. The very next day, I called to inquire about scheduling a chest x-ray for my dog since we had just seen the doctor yesterday . I asked if the exam fee would be charged again for the chest x-ray, and the receptionist informed me that I would need to pay the $65 exam fee again to see the doctor before the x-ray. I don't understand why another exam is necessary just to perform the chest x-ray when we had just been there the day before. Instead, I took my dog to 5 Points Companion Animal Hospital in Huntington Beach, where he received a thorough examination. I was able to get the chest x-ray done there as well. When I asked the receptionist at 5 Points if I could return at a later date without being charged another exam fee, they told me it would be fine as long as I came back within 30 days. This experience with Garden Grove Dog and Cat Hospital has made me feel like they are more focused on making money rather than providing quality care. I will not be returning to this clinic.

The initial visit (& every other since) was UNBELIEVABLE! I noticed immediately Dr Leung was interested in helping our dog with a proper detailed evaluation. Rather than the huge up front fee. Dr Leung is the most professional veterinarian I have ever dealt with. He & his entire staff have exceeded my highest expectations. Recently we had to put our last rescue to sleep. The care & compassion we received from Dr Leung & his staff was over & above anything I'd ever experienced. If you're truly looking for the absolute best veterinarian available. They also made the process a lot easier and showed us so much love/support throughout our appointment. I've had my cat for over 13.5 years so I really struggled with this decision.. thanks to the staff and especially MONA.. she truly reminded me that I was doing the best I could and not to blame myself. The days and weeks following his passing I continued to feel a ton of guilt/remorse and confusion --- but remembered Mona and the empathy she showed me as well as the things she said.. which really helped bring me peace. I truly hope I never have to experience this kind of heartbreak again but if I ever have to make another tough decision for my pet or need to visit the vets office I know where I won't hesitate to go. Most recently I had an emergency that basically was a life and death situation for my dog! She had accidentally ingested some grapes. I tried to bring my dog in and instead of trying to induce vomit, Dr Vani recommended I keep my dog at home and monitor for 6-12 hours until we see symptoms. WHAT??. I originally thought it was weird and maybe it wasnt as serious as i thought but this would be the right advice because i trusted Dr Vani and then after talking to my partner realized that we needed to go to another vet right away. We took her to Vetco in Lakewood they induced vomit and now im writing this from the ER where my dog is on IV. We dont know if she's going to make it. I know that if we had taken Dr Vani's advice, my dogs kidneys would definitely be done for. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG TO BOULEVARD. You can do better. My neighbor also recently stopped taking her dog there as the treatments have gotten so expensive. Do yourself and your pet a favor and find some place else. Theyre the worst. Ive always found Boulevard and Dr Vani to be overpriced but was willing to pay as long as she gave me good advice and looked out for my pet. This showed me that she is a terrible vet and definitely not worth it! i will never be returning here and i wanted to share my story so everyone can keep their pets safe.

From the moment we met Dr. Ha, Dr You and the team, we knew we were in the right hands. What sets this practice apart is the rare combination of exceptional medical expertise and genuine compassion. Dr. You took the time to explain everything clearly, answer our questions, and help us navigate an incredibly emotional situation with confidence and trust. Just as importantly, every member of the team treated both Cheyenne and our family with kindness, empathy, and respect. My wife Jenna and I own a business ourselves, so we understand how difficult it is to build a truly outstanding team. Dr. You has done exactly that. Over a very stressful 12 hours, we experienced not only a high level of professional skill, but also a level of care and concern that made us feel supported every step of the way. We are deeply grateful for everything Dr. You and his team have done for Cheyenne. They cared not only for our dog, but for us as well. In a world where compassion can sometimes feel rare, this team delivers it every day. Thank you, Dr. You and team. We will never forget your kindness. Tony & Jenna

We came twice within a span of two months. The first time, they informed us that our 13 year-old dog has heart condition. They told us she isn't in pain and that medication would help. They warned us that she's in the later stages of her heart condition. They were able to give her an IV with medication and oxygen to help her. We asked if it was her time, but they said not yet. The staff during this visit weren't the friendliest. We took her to her primary vet the next day and got medication prescribed. We were told again that she's okay and it's not her time yet, but to watch for the warning signs and to prepare ourselves. Unfortunately, a month after the first visit, she had a really bad episode in which we knew it was her time. We brought her back and luckily the staff during this second visit were more warm and comforting. They confirmed that it would be best to let her go and so we let her cross the rainbow bridge. They were very understanding in providing us all the time we needed with her. They definitely made this process more comforting. One thing I'd say is that we were sad that they mixed up her blanket and so they had hers in the back in the wash. We asked for it back and they gave it to us wet. I was sad her scent was washed away. Overall, they provided a good visit for us. They have an online waitlist system so you can join earlier. They have some complimentary snacks and water. Also a name tag making.
