Before getting a new HVAC installed and the company installing it recommended an air duct cleaning. They recommended a company that was ultimately booked for the next 6 weeks, so then I called Air Quality Solutions as they had previously cleaned out my dryer vents. They happened to have immediate availability (in hindsight - this was probably a red flag) and the very next day they came out and completed an approximately $500 dollar service in about 90 minutes. My house is 4000 sq feet and such a quick completion of the duct cleaning seemed suspect to me. Sure enough, the company installing the new HVAC confirmed the duct cleaning was "lazy" and not thorough. Ultimately it took me about 3 months to finally get in touch with the owner to express my concerns. He was argumentative over the phone (won't be surprised to see him debate this review) and in the end offered only a $50 refund and the chance to complete the job again. No way I'm going to allow them to service my home again after they failed to execute well the first time around. Because of my experience, I do not recommend this company for more extensive jobs like air duct cleaning for larger homes. They are however seemingly effective at cleaning out dryer vents. read more

He visited my house with another individual on his team (Sonny) and discussed what they needed to do. We replaced our dryer and discovered the previous homeowners had hooked up the old dryer to a flexible duct that extended into the wall and connected to the main dryer vent deep under the floor. The flexible duct broke and we were unable to reach the main vent to connect a new rigid dryer duct. We called 17 companies to fix the ductwork, but most companies either do just HVAC ducting or duct cleaning. Several companies quoted work that involved making a hole in the floor or wall to access the main dryer vent. We had also scheduled a dryer vent company to provide a quote (at cost), and they weren't able to come out for almost 2 weeks. In the meantime, Quality Air Solutions provided a very reasonable quote and was able to do the work on the spot without making any additional holes. Juan and Jaime did a FABULOUS job connecting the new ductwork considering the difficult access to the main dryer vent. They also cleaned the vent, and we couldn't be more pleased with their work and the overall cost!! It was also a pleasure to work with Karen who answered the phone, and we were pleased with the 1-hour window that was scheduled for Quality Air Solutions to visit (most companies provide a 3-hour or 4-hour window). This company was recommended by a contractor doing some work in my house. The contractor is a great guy and when he recommended Quality Air Solutions to clean my ducts, I figured I'd give them a call. The receptionist was very courteous and scheduled me for an appointment the next day. The next day, Tony and (forget his partner's name) came out (called an hour before) on time, as scheduled. They explained what they were going to do and gave very good recommendations on what I needed to do to keep my HVAC in top shape. They even patched up places in my air handler where air was escaping making my unit less efficient, replaced another part on the air handler and put a clamp on my humidifier hose (all for free). Disclaimer: I haven't used their service at all. This quote is based on customer service alone. Last year I had a whole house humidifier installed and it stopped working this season. My toddler just had surgery to take out her tonsils and adenoids, and one of the recommendations to help soothe and heal was to ensure adequate humidity levels in the house. I didn't have enough time to troubleshoot because we're expecting another baby very soon so my time is spent preparing and taking care of the toddler, etc. Long story short, I needed to get it fixed ASAP because she was having a rough time sleeping, and waking up in pain. I sought quotes on Yelp and got about 10 responses, but most of them wanted "additional information" even though I shared the location of the home and the model/age of the humidifier (seriously, what more information do you need?). No, seriously. What more information would you like? Could you at least ask specific questions? I'm pretty technical and handy about the house so I typically would know what relevant information to share, but I was stumped. Some other quotes I got were giving me a charge for diagnosis. Some wanted me to call them to discuss first. And then there was Quality Air Solutions. They simply responded letting me know the problem was most likely that the water needed to be turned on. They were absolutely correct. Even if I didn't use their service I appreciate the kind gesture of sharing what the issue was so I could troubleshoot it. If I had listened, I would have saved myself some cash, but I didn't believe it was the issue because I hadn't turned off the water and I'm the only one who does these things around the house. Wife has never stepped in the HVAC room. Well, it turns out when we were getting some renovations done in the basement, the contractor must have shut off the water at some point. We got a quote and scheduled an appointment easily. The team came out on time but noted that due to our furnace location in our crawl space it would track a lot of mud (it was raining) inside. I appreciated their concern for our home and easily rescheduled through the central office. A different team came back a couple days later and they were equally professional and respectful of our home. They worked quickly and thoroughly over the roughly 3 hours. I called QAS because a completely different and unrelated company cleaned our ducts and we noticed that our dryer 'check vent light' was coming on after they left... a Maytag technician told us the first unrelated company probably just pushed the lint to the back of the system without properly cleaning it from the outside. We've only lived here 18 months and it's anyone's guess about if and when the previous owner ever cleaned their dryer vent properly and with three children, we definitely do our fair share of laundry... I was nervous the block could be major fire hazard. Going on this yelp review, we called QAS to fix this problem... The very nice and personable dispatch representative told me she had a cancellation and sent the technician over within the hour. Brandon, the QAS technician, went through thoroughly cleaning out our whole second floor dryer vent system... he literally spent over an hour making sure every thing was totally clean from the inside out (notably, the first company didn't do any of these things). He showed me how we had a huge block and a ton of lint, hence the warning lights. He made sure all systems were working properly multiple times, cleaned the actual dryer out as well, and also, he explained how everything would be much more efficient... and it has been! We noticed a difference immediately! I totally feel like we got our moneys worth. I am extremely disgusted by the Groupon this company offered through Groupon. The groupon was for cleaning of 12 exit vents, one intake and one main line. After I purchased the groupon, my girlfriend revealed her past experience with this type of services, and cautioned me against signing up any additional services they would sell. Indeed it happened as she warned me- the tech showed at my house with no ntention of cleaning, instead, he recommended a $1100 cleaning service. Tony and Sonny are a perfect team! We had Tony come out and do a free estimate which he was wonderful at explaining what they will do on the day of the appointment if we choose to have them do service for us. We have 3 dogs- he told us that some animals do not respond to the noise very well and also asked if we had cats because cats seem to truly freak out over the ordeal- very thoughtful to inform us as we have never had the ducts cleaned before. On the day of the appointment they call to let you know that they are on their way- so we gathered our pets into their cages and in the driveway they were. They began with our upstairs unit and discovered a good bit of black mold... so they recommended a UV light to be a permanent fix for the mold situation which would only require changing the light bulb every year or so. Tony and Sonny were so informative it makes you feel comfortable and involved in what is going on. They called way ahead of time to let me know they might be a little late due to poor weather conditions however they still arrived within the original appointment time. They were extremely careful and quick at the same time and taught me some ways to maintain a clean dryer vent. They also checked out my vents and furnace. At one point Tony couldn't find a screw he took off to remove the guard for the outside vent and instead of ignoring it or trying to hide it from me, he went back to his truck to get a replacement screw. Sonny also asked me if it was possible to keep the front door open and when I said that we preferred not to because of my sick daughter, he said it was not a problem. Based on the generally excellent reviews i read I called QAS for cleaning my hot air duct work prior to installing a new furnace and A/C. I was more concerned about quality of work than price so i did not do a price comparison. The estimate was delivered in a professional manner and the technician Tony did a first class job. He carefully explained the procedure, did exactly what he said he was going to do and left the place as clean as it was before he arrived. Incidentally he pointed out the ducts had not been cleaned since the house was built in 1945 even though the furnace and A/C had been replaced in 1993. In other words, very dirty duct work which did not faze him a bit. He also pointed out my dryer needed cleaning and I agreed with him after seeing how clogged the pipe was. Bottom line: a professional and well done job. Absolutely recommend. read more
