Our garage was not closing properly so my husband tried to step in and fix it.. only to wind up having the garage door not even opening at all! I called Quality Garage Door Repair service and they offered to come to the house first thing in the morning to have the door looked at. The man I spoke with said they'll come by and diagnose the problem for free! Free estimate! Next morning, Bob the repairman, came by (ON TIME) and worked on the door first - such as tuning it up and looking thoroughly with the springs, hinges, rollers, etc. Afterwards, he explained to me what was the issue, what needed to be fixed and how much it would cost. He was very friendly, honest and upfront. No little hidden fees or any sales tactics. I only decided to have the rollers replaced along with having the garage door lubricated. I needed to replace the strut, but I decided to hold out on that till later. Bob had no problem with my decision. He did not try to pressure me in any way and respected that. He even notated it on my invoice so the next time they come out, they can see what I want done. Bob worked in a timely manner and also showed me how to maintain the door. I was also given a free can of garage door lubrication to use. Prices are very reasonable. People will recommend their dads and or husbands that once saw a video on YouTube, lol, that may be able to do it. The uneasy feeling makes you keep looking... so you research for how much it is to fix your problem and get scared that it might be true... and keep looking for an honest company who can get the job done. You found yelp! And decide to put trust in strangers who were in a similar situations to lure you into picking the company that they went for... and that my friend is where my story begins. That was my morning; I called Quality Doors Services because of the 5 star yelp reviews and that they were also on Angie's List (and you know Angie List is like the dean's list for services.) Anyway, the gentleman who answered the phone was polite and concise with information, confirmed meeting time range etc. I got my 30 minute warning call that they are on the way (I was at work and I needed a 30 mins heads up) they showed up 5 mins before the agreed upon time which was awesome! 2 gentlemen came to kindly greet me (Shawn & Terry) and I proceed to show them the issue. They were efficient with the assessment and gave me a very reasonable quote (I shopped around for quotes prior to deciding to go for QDS.) They estimated about 30 mins or so to get everything done and before you know it... ladies and gentlemen... they were done! I was called in after the deed and I was shown the finished product. I was also given a tutorial on why my garage malfunctioned on the first place and how I can help maintain my garage doors (special spray - same concept as a DW 40? ) every now and then. Edwin of Quality Door Service (QDS) came to my house to replace the inferior builder grade garage door torsion spring, which broke on my home just like it did on my neighbors' doors. After discussing the options that QDS had available, and him showing me the different color doors available, we also opted for a modern wood grain steel door instead of the cardboard composite that was the original. Edwin helped me pick the color/style, which I thought would look good, but was slightly unsure of how it would look when installed. When the special order door arrived, I wasn't concerned anymore, because it looked great after he and his helper removed the old one and installed the one we purchased. Edwin also replaced the existing motor and chain drive assembly with a new belt drive opener with LED lights and a backup battery for power outages per my request. Of course, there was a payment for both the door and the new opener, but it was well worth it, because it added style, control features, and reliability to my garage door assembly. By the way, he also redid the builder's poor construction of angle iron to support the garage door opener. Last of all, the newly installed rails and nylon rollers were much quieter and less maintenance than the original steel version. In summary, I'd recommend QDS to anyone for their professionalism, attention to detail, and friendliness. read more

They worked with my schedule to provide a quote and had a variety of colors available in stock - huge plus. Competitors only had white or almond, but were will to paint...for a price. Appointment was scheduled for the replacement - again working with my schedule. These guys are excellent. Wind over the last few weeks finally did my garage door in, with the two lower panels sagging something awful. These guys were great. It was the Jimmy John's of garage door repair. I honestly expected it to take four to five times as long as it did. The lead technician (I'm thinking his name was Bob) gave me good advice, had no trouble AT ALL answering my twenty million questions, he wasn't pushy, he didn't sell me anything I didn't need, he threw in new rollers/wheels with the opener and he even made me laugh a lot. I strangely felt no sorrow as my 480$ traded hands. One big plus was that they were ON TIME! My time is my most valuable resource. They gave me a window of between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m and showed up about 1:45 p.m. Hopefully I don't need their services for a quite a while but when that time comes they'll be hearing from me. read more
