Quality fence did amazing job with our yard! They were super fast, they helped us with a difficult situation where our neighbor had put their post on our property before we moved in. Overall I could not recommend them highly enough. There is no QUALITY in Quality Fence company. We had 5 call backs for fixes before we excepted the finish product, basically due to poor workmanship and material. We had splitting post (chunks of wood fell out), leaning & irregular gapped pickets and wrong gate hinges and locks. Company came out replaced 8 post, one entire side and a new gate. At about a year (still under warranty) we needed another gate adjustment...faced with rudeness and poor communication for almost 2 months. Finally, I called saying I was filing a complaint with BBB, I received a call back and adjustment was made 3 days later. After 1-year, we ended up with a large gap under a two-tone fence (post look like red cedar and pickets look like white cedar) where some post have bad splits. So frustrating!!! read more

quality fence installed a wood privacy fence for us near Ceresco one year ago. This was absolutely the worst excuse for quality I have seen in my life. This fence wobbles like a hula doll on a dashboard. After the first heavy rainfall post install, multiple posts began to lean. The pickets were nailed on instead of being screwed. Cue the nail pops and warped pickets! Finally, the wind took a large section down like it was made from tissue paper. We are now replacing the damaged fence ourselves THE RIGHT WAY. We should have saved time, money and frustration by researching this company more carefully. Their sub contractors do seriously crappy work. Run! Run as fast as you can. This place deserves 0 stars. Horrible customer service. There is absolutely nothing nice to say about this company. Spend the extra $300 and go somewhere else! They were out 4 times, put the stakes in incorrectly, redid it wrong again, posts went up and I swear 2 months later actually had the fence up and that was after waiting a month from when it was supposed to be done. But of course the fence wasn't done all the way when they left. My husband ended up having to nail several of the boards because they missed them. 2 boards cracked within a few months. Sloppy and incompetent. The office team member in charge of billing is a monster to work with. Good luck trying to get her to call you back. She sent the bill to the wrong address and threatened to call collections . She is nasty to talk to and you're not going to get anywhere. Please just do yourself a favor, and do not use this company. It took three trips to my house for the gentleman to properly measure the area and then when it came time to sign final paperwork $800 was added to the final bid. When I questioned him repeatedly about this, he made a lot of excuses and said oh it's just a mistake it's just a mistake in the measurement and this is the right number. The next thing I know I'm receiving mock ups for fencing in places I never wanted fencing, using different (lesser quality) materials than I ordered. Due to them not being able to get it right (ever), and reading the other Real review, I canceled the contract within a week of signing it. I had to pay a 15% penalty, and this amount was calculated from the padded number I was given at the end. I was also charged for a random other permit though they weren't going to be able to start on my job for at least 3 months. No doubt this was just an extra level of pettiness on the owner's part. Everything trickles from the top down. Once you speak with the owner, you'll know that you do not want to use this company. The positive review listed is by a professional reviewer. I looked into his profile, and he reviewed all fencing companies in Omaha and ended up using S&W fence. I, too, will be using S&W fence as About Quality Fence in Papillion used to be Quality Fence in Omaha, and they closed their doors and re-opened under a new name due to horrible reviews. Kathy is the owner, and her customer service is abhorrent. She doesn't care about anything other than checks. If I could give less stars I would. Paid our deposit which is half the cost of the fence. Was quoted that our fence would be started in 5-6 weeks. This was on May 15th. It's now July 12th and our fence has not been started. 8 weeks later. My wife called them this morning to find out what the hold up is. We were told that because we are technically Gretna, we have to have a survey of our yard done. Something they say they didn't know until recently, but never bothered to communicate that to us until we called to find out why our fence hadn't been put up yet. Terrible customer service, terrible communication. Do not waste your time wtlith this company. I had set an appointment with S & W they did not show up. Then I set up an appointment with About Quality Fence they came with in a few days and gave me a bid. They had to come out a second time because I changed the layout and type of fence, gave me an updated contract via email because the cost changed when I made new changes. Because of the rain, they could not promise me a specific date and I understood. They kept me updated via by phone and email. I received my new fence solid and beautiful as well. I have a 2-year warranty and I am very pleased with the office and crew they communicated very well with my husband and myself. They took as long as any other fence company in Omaha after all we live in Nebraska where the weather changes constantly. When you have a project like this you need plenty of patience and grace. Do not hire this company. I am a fool. I realized they had a terrible BBB rating at the last minute, but I believed the salesman's explanation that their previous problems had been resolved. On April 19th I was told it would be 2-3 weeks to get the posts set, then 5-7 days after that for the fence. We ordered and paid for a survey to be done. I called the company May 2nd to find out when the survey would be completed, and the person that answered did not place me on hold so I was able to hear her conversation with another person. The survey had not been ordered yet, we were "not a priority". Michelle then told me that the survey "was not back yet". We later found out from the surveyor that the survey was not even ordered until May 20th. The salesman emailed me that they "sold more than expected" and this "changed project dates". Then we were told that the company was having trouble getting wood. We delayed the project for one week after the survey was completed in order to work out some details with our neighbor. Posts were finally installed June 27th. The fence was installed July 11th. The fence looks good, but we are super angry that it took 13 weeks. I feel that they were deceptive and evasive. read more

Run, do not walk, away from this company. I am really sorry to not have had Patrick W's experience because I picked them in part due to his rave reviews. This company started out all promises - and then it went evil. They showed up when they wanted without warning. We have a lab who loves to run...yeah they showed up and removed the fence before I could put her away. When I called, Tom (service manager) totally kissed my butt apologizing but forgot about it within days. Then they showed up 6 days later to install new one - totally blocking my driveway - again no notice. When it was done (6' wood privacy with gothic toppers) there was a gap at the bottom around most of the fence ranging from 2 inches to 7 inches. Anyone with a dog or knows lab can testify, daylight means digging. Also the slats on the gates (at the bottom) were not level but each new slat was 1/2 to 1 inch longer than the previous one. I didn't order staggered gates!! A nice guys just doing his job stopped by and sorta fixed the gates, we will have to plant tall grass to cover up some of the slats. When we complained about the gaps at the bottom of the fence, their workers sneaked onto the property and touched it up with pieces of wood on the outside of the fence at the bottom running horizontally with nails they didn't entirely hammer in. Hit, hit and then bent them over!!!!! The BBB even gave them an A or A+ -- they did F work for us...and it was really about how they treated us. Our neighbor went in with us to get a gate for our common fencing...they called her and lied to her to get money from her!! We were still fighting about the gate when they called our widow neighbor and told her we were perfectly happy with our fence. Unfortunately she believed them and sent them the money!! I have no experience with the other fence companies around town but I can tell you that Quality Fence is top-notch. I made the decision to hire them over S&W and American Fence based on the cost and feedback from others. The cost was competitive though it was a bit more. They installed the posts and came back in just over a week to put in the rest of the fence. For the most part, they did a fantastic job and even came back to fix a couple of minor issues within two days. If you're in the market for a fence, I recommend Quality Fence. Quality Fence performed a substandard installation and then wanted to charge me more to do the work better. They kept part of my deposit for more work, when I asked for it back. Who would want more work done by a company who didn't perform the first task well? They claimed that it was spelled out in a "contract" on a page that we did not receive. We took them to small claims court and won. They appealed the decision and lost. Their attorney asked to pay us a reduced amount due to the quantity of suits against the company. read more

Recently we contracted Quality Fence to install a 6 ft privacy fence in our back yard. We signed the contract March 20th, per the signed agreement the job was to be completed within 3 weeks of the initial deposit and signed agreement. Five+ weeks later (after countless phone calls and inquiries regarding the status of our fence) the fence was finally installed. Coming from a family that works closely with contractors in various forms of the construction industry, I understand that completion dates can be fluid depending on extenuating circumstances. However, communication between the office manager (Cathy) was a series of lies. Basically we'd call to get an update (because no one at Quality Fence had the initiative to reach out to us with updates) and she'd talk in circles, never once taking responsibility or putting her own ego on the shelf to be honest with us, we weren't looking for anything more than an updated communication regarding our fence. Once our fence was installed (which looks great, kudos to the installation team at Quality Fence), we received an invoice in the mail for $300 more than the initial quote reflected. The up-charge was for "hand digging post holes due to utility markings". Their was never a phone call made to us the customers authorizing this type of work - if given the option we would have opted to move the fence in about a foot to avoid any utility markings and paying the "hand digging post hole" charge. Our fence turned out as we had hoped, and as a result even referred two friends to choose Quality Fence (a couple referrals that we are now urging to move forward with another company)! The true measure of a good company is how they respond when problems arise. Quality Fence (specifically Cathy and Larry) just doesn't measure up. I wish we would have chosen another company. They said it would only take 6 weeks to get it done. They came out way later than that. I also paid for a survey but they put in the fence post before the survey people had a chance to come out . On one side of the fence it is on our property line but the other one is a foot away. We have called them for a month now on every Friday . They keep on saying they will send someone out but they haven't. So paying for the survey was pointless. Plus we did sign up for financing and do all of the paper work done before they got done with the fence. Then the bill came and they said we cancelled the loan which we didn't . So then we had to fill out the paper work again. They didn't process it till 2 weeks after we got after them for okay the loan. I am now in the process of having to move the vinyl fence which quality fence installed several years ago. Quality Fence had a valid survey (which they provided) at the time of installation. Recently, new neighbors had a survey done and our fence is 1&1/2 feet on his land. When brought to Quality attention, they responded: "the Customer assumes full responsibility for the location of the property line upon which the fence is installed.". So you better be a Registered Surveyor to make sure this company knows what they are doing. Otherwise RUN far away from this business. read more

Horrible experience with this company. I wish I could give it a "0" rating- that bad! Their policy is cash up front. They were very attentive to me unitl I paid that. Afterwards, my fence was put up 7-months later(excuse after excuse... workers were sick, people on vacations, weather...) they left a large 2x4 stick in my front yard. It's not only a safety issue- but a real eye sore. I have called 8 times asking them to pull it out as I am unable to do it. They take my call, "write a note to give to the crew" and it never has been taken care of. I call several times a week asking to speak to one of the owners- no one calls me back. I chose to go with this company because their rates were competitive but not the highest overall and I really felt like I could trust my sales guy. We got our fence a little after the estimated time they originally proposed to us but it was worth the wait. Customer service was great, they kept us posted on what was going on the whole time. Like I said it was worth the wait because our fence came out beautiful and our dogs are very happy now that they can roam around. WARNING! NON-PERFORMING COMPANY!!!! I built a new house and signed a contract on the 8th of Sep 2014. The contract said the project should begin in 4-6 weeks, salesman said they might that was a worst case estimate as it could rain and push the start out. That the fence could be started in as soon as 3 weeks. I was good with that. I paid the deposit. The weeks go by and no calls, no email, no updates. I checked in twice by phone asking for updates... no response. I go in personally and the scheduler is never there, "I can't say. I'll have her (Kathy, the scheduler) call you." No calls. It is now October 27, 2014, I went to their office in person and they said it would be TWO MORE WEEKS! I said I wanted my money back. NOW I got a call. Sure they will refund my money less $540 for a penalty. Read the fine print. If they take 2 months to do NOTHING there is no penalty for them. Not one thing you can do, even if takes until 2015 or later to put the fence in. Seems they really want money for not working. Give them the opportunity to cash in for doing nothing and THEN you get the phone call!! Sure pay us to let us do MORE absolutely nothing! They are more than happy and accommodating to do that, "Can you be by tomorrow to pick up the check?" Well I didn't ask for the refund and will report EACH and EVERY aberration in their actions from now until the project is complete and I am totally satisfied. Here and in other forums. I will pass out fliers to the neighbors with this narrative on it. They will regret ever having me become a customer! The better business bureau will be informed. Well where should I start. This company is a JOKE. First of all the Fence was way late going in. There was never any phone calls to me to keep me informed of any process of the fence. I had to call them. And when I called I still got the run around. Then one day my fence was gone with no warning and then it was gone for 5 weeks. WTF. No one called!!! NO one kept me informed!!! They also unburied a drainage system and the workers said they would rebury it and I called every week for the past 5 weeks and no one called me back. This is officially my first Yelp review as I'm trying to do my civil duty by writing this. Stay away from this fence company!! Tracy and Cathy are more difficult to work with than your cable company. I contacted Quality Fence at the beginning of September, Bill Comer (my sales representative) called me back about a week later. Should have been my first red flag. I met Bill and he told me I needed to put down 50% to get on the calendar, and they were about 4 weeks out. I put the 50% down, as many other fence companies were saying they were 8 to 10 weeks out and I have a lab. He said Tracy or Cathy would contact me about 1 week out before installation. No big deal. September passes by and I hear nothing. I call in early October to see where we were at, said they were just about to contact me, and would give me a call in week to schedule the installation. Never heard from them. Two more weeks go by, call them again, said they had been delayed due to the unusual amount of rain we have been receiving. Sure.. Said they would call me back again when they get caught up. My initial bid was for 2 sides of the fence as one side was already up from my neighbors. My other two neighbors at this point have now posted in their new fences, basically fencing in my yard. I contacted Quality Fence again today, as I have not heard from them again, and explained to them that at this point my yard is basically done and I will no longer need the fence. I was met with extremely rude confrontation from either Tracy or Cathy (I've spoken with both at this point and receive the same attitude from both). I expected a small cancellation fee of maybe $50 to $100, no big deal, they did have to drive out and bid it out. She told me they were going to charge me 15% of the total bid of the fence (about $3000). It has been nearly 2 months, after being told 1, and I still have no idea when they would have even come out, I'm guessing at this point it would have been spring if I was lucky. They are keeping the $450 plus the permits (another $100) that they supposedly had already paid for out of my initial deposit. After reading additional reviews of the actual work maybe the $550 is a small price to pay not to have them junk up my backyard with a poorly constructed fence. In addition, Bill is absolutely no help after he gets you to sign the contract. He straight up told me its his job to get me to sign then he's out of the process. Awesome. Do not believe the timetable that you're quoted and know that if for some reason you have to deal with the back office its an absolute nightmare. Also check BBB, tons of complaints. read more

She is not helpful at all and doesn't seem to care. When I told her. "You said 3 1/2 to 4 weeks we are now in our 7th week and you are telling me it is going to be yet another week ". I have never given a company a negative report but after dealing with this company I was really given no choice. So as much as it pains me I don't want other people to suffer as we have. I went with this company after I saw there vinyl product. I had to spend a pretty penny but we really liked the fence. The salesperson seemed great at first. I only wish it would have remained like this. The installers were great but they were given the wrong product. They didn't know what I had ordered. When I saw the fence I called the salesperson and reported the issue. I was then told that I would be billed even more due to some extra work that the installers had to do. When I went to ask the installers what work they had to do they didn't know what I was talking about. After shrugging that off ( it was only 100 dollars so nothing to get to upset about) I talked with the salesperson and he told me that he would take care of the fence and make sure the right product would be installed. We had paid for a different vinyl product that was an upgrade from the vinyl installed. We waited and waited and waited. After a month I called the salesperson and he told me again that the product would be installed in the next week or so. I called a month later and again he assured me that the product would be installed in the next week. I waited yet another month. This time the salesperson told me that he was "just about to come over" because he had the product loaded on the truck. He didn't come that day nor that month. It has now been over 2 years and we still haven't been given the product we paid for. I have been calling the office after I told them that I didn't want to deal with the salesperson anymore because I don't trust him. Each time I called I talked to the same woman. She told me that they would install the product in the next week. You probably expect that this never happened and you are right. After numerous calls asking for them to just refund the money I have been told that this isn't possible because it has been over two years. What might be the worst issue out of this is the way we have been treated by the company. Throughout all of this we have not been told that they are sorry at anytime and they have treated us so badly that it pains me to know that I have to call them again because I know that I'm about to be treated so badly. I did discover that they were given an A- by the BBB. This is just appalling! Please be careful when choosing a fence company. We have used S&W before and were very pleased. Make sure that every item that you pay for is in writing and very clear. We have filed with a lawyer and are now waiting simply for what we paid for. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! We decided to have our fence installed professionally rather than do it ourselves thinking it would be quicker. Was initially told it would be 4-5 weeks for completion. Signed the contract and placed our deposit of $2152 which they cashed the check the next morning. Checked back with them every three weeks to find out where our fence was. Received rude responses each time. Four months later we only have the posts installed and that was only because we had a friend on the inside who pulled our file and got the job started before he quit. Called several times, either they don't return your calls, the 'person we needed to speak to' had already left for the day (by 3:30pm most days), or they give you a multitude of excuses as to why your fence isn't complete like labor issues, wood shipment hasn't come in etc. During one phone call the co-owner was literally screaming at my husband through the phone.
