I contacted Quality House Painting for a bid to paint our craftsman style home in South Pasadena. My initial contact with Kev was positive and his bid came in at the mid range of the bids we had received. Through the process, Kev monitored in the background and was consistently responsive to concerns and questions. We interacted primarily with Brian who supervised the work on site. Brian was helpful and responsive - as well as patient when my wife and I had difficulty selecting a color. Brian went out of his way to help us in the process, including going into the neighborhood to obtain paint samples from a house that looked particularly appealing to us. The crew was responsive to our requests to move some dates and times around to fit our schedule. Kev did a walk through with me after the job was completed, and some touch up was done. A couple of months later, I discovered some areas that had been left unpainted and areas where paint was bubbling. Additionally, our dog had done some damage to the paint of two doors. SO DISAPPOINTED. After reading all of the 4+ star reviews on yelp, we decided to go with Paul and his bid for painting the exterior of our home. I WISH WE DIDN'T. They did a SLOPPY SLOPPY SLOPPY job. The house was painted with a spray gun and I would think that professional house painters would know how it works and prep the house properly. Now we have attic mesh screens with spray residue on them, concrete footings the back of the house and garage that are half painted with the house color. Oh and they completely missed a window frame at the top of the house. The crew didn't, no NEVER cleaned up after themselves, paint chips, dust & debris littered our back porch, front & side yard and driveway. Caulk tubes and sandpaper were just dropped in place - I had to pick one up from ACROSS THE STREET. They destroyed plants around the front of the house as well as around our patio - which isn't next to the house - so they went out of their way there. The over spray ruined our kitchen garden - completely - there is paint on all our lettuce, broccoli, arugula. When they finished the job I thought - ok now will they sweep up or clean - NOPE, that's what I spent yesterday doing. As well they were using the space between our garage and the neighbors block wall to piss - yeah thanks for that smell. AND I just found a plastic bag filled with human SHIT buried in a ditch in my backyard (we are removing a concrete post in the ground that these idiots decided to use as a trough to clean out their tools). That is what prompted this review. I am so outraged at their lack of respect, lack of detail and lack of QUALITY. This company needs a new name. I hope this review warns people that if Paul's bid is the most competitive - you know why. The crew they employ has NO common sense, NO respect for property AND NO decency - I mean really? Had a great experience with this company. The field manager who came over was very knowledgeable and very detailed. This was the ONLY company that gave us an itemized list of the work and explained each item in detail. I was unable to work with them only because I have too many heads making decisions in my family. I just called them to get an estimate for some damages from a delivery company. The person answered the phone and sounded like the owner and informed me that they don't work on the weekends. Really? Bankers hours? He was trying to talk me out out of any future work. My experience and his attitude kinda stunk, so do yourself a favor don't use this company and save yourself a big headache. Quality house painting took on a really challenging paint job on a historic home for us in Pasadena. The 1920's home had not been painted in decades, and needed a lot of "prep" work prior to painting, including sanding, caulk, power-washing, bondo, etc. Kev came out and gave me suggestions on paint color and the above prep work they would do. Each time they came to the house they had several guys, including Junior, the onsite foreman, who was very professional and also helped me pick out paint colors. (They were very patient with my paint color changes... after I saw the garage painted in my original choice I decided to change colors and luckily it wasn't too late.) Junior also pointed out a window that the workers scratched, which I thought was very honest and forthcoming. In the end, Kev, Junior, and the crew did a really exceptional job, and helped make an old house look like a new home. I also feel like their price was very fair for the job that was done. read more

Wow-- Seriously wow! Paul and his crew did absolutely amazing job. First off, they had the lowest bid by far. So, I hired them. I was a little cautious at first because Quality House Painting came in quite a bit less than other bids, but they did absolutely outstanding work. First off, the crew was super polite and super helpful. We have a 100 year old house, so there were a ton of small details and years of paint build-up they had to deal with. Paul, the manager, came EVERY DAY to the job site and would walk around with me going over any challenges and discussing them. They finished in one week less than the quoted time, and they were diligent and detail-oriented throughout the process. The final touch ups were done quickly and without any bellyaching, even fixing some of the damage the gutter guys did without even the slightest complaint. I can't say enough good things. They are likely the only company from a year long remodel that I would quickly refer to friends and family. read more

When we were repainting the interior and exterior of our house, we obtained multiple bids and though Quality Painting wasn't the cheapest (or the most expensive for that matter) I'm glad we went with them. Anthony held my hand through out the entire process and kept me updated as to timelines and goals. whenever I had any complaints, he addressed it immediately and professionally - no questions asked. His lead painter, Armondo, also a cool guy that is very knowledgeable about paint. I believe he started the company with Kevin- could be wrong so don't quote me! He and his crew were great to work with and I had no qualms about leaving them alone in the house to finish the job. The one thing that I was bothered about was the third job at my condo. It seemed rush, as they had other projects going on in the neighborhood. This is understandable but also not an excuse. They came back immediately to do touch up and All in all, I would use them again (and again!) but hopefully our paint remains intact for years to come! read more

Happily, this team was determined to do the job right for our painting project, which involved patching damaged stucco outside and repairing drywall inside, and painting a bathroom as well as the entire exterior of the house. How rude these people are!! They used tape to post their flyer on my wood door. I tried to speak to the man who did this, but they would not turn around! Then I called, tried to tell them not to post flyers using tape!!! on my wooden door. they hung up. I called back, she asked me if I was prejudiced. The price is right for a job well done prepping and painting the exterior of my house. Paul gave me an estimate that was reasonable and sensible. He didn't offer to do anything more than I asked for. His crew prepped for two days by filling in all the stucco cracks, repairing cracks in a wooden beam and filling with a sort of bonding solution, sanding down old peeled paint from roof edging, spraying the french door windows with a solution to keep the paint off, added panels at the bottom of a pair of french doors to prevent from weather damage, and taping large plastic sheets to cover where paint shouldn't land. Then thoroughly sprayed and brushed on quality paint on the house and not a drop anywhere else. They are immaculate, trustworthy, and one can tell they take pride in their work. read more
