Not a great stay. Greeted by a broken side door that said "sorry, please use front entrance".... Not a good start. The hotel seems like they are trying to fix it up, but it's pretty dated and needs a lot of help. Room was also dated, and the TV had no movie channels. My biggest issue was that the next morning there was absolutely no hot or even warm water available. I thought it might be me not understanding the shower settings! But after a call to the front desk, I was told they had a pipe break. Which I wasn't happy about, but I understand this was obviously not planned. When I checked out I shared my displeasure with not being able to shower and they once again said "we had a pipe break". Not a "we are sorry" or "can we adjust your bill" or even an offer of some Choice Points for the maintenance issue that made your stay suck. Nothing! Don't even think this person behind the desk even cared! Horrible customer service and hotel needs some major updates and improvements. Not a lot of options for hotels in Escanaba, but I recommend trying another. read more

Absolute garbage. I was forced to get "new" keys for my own room at least daily. They would just stop working, typically if I was carrying luggage or something heavy, hot, inconvenient. The hotel offers guest laundry machine (one of them), but they don't even know the price of it, and there is no change machine. Continental breakfast is spam "sausage" meat and old cereal. Children run free, and with a pool on the main floor, you will hear, see, and feel their presence. If you needed you window to function at all, we're sorry but it's totally jammed. If you wanted hot water in the morning, you MIGHT even find some. YMMV. read more

Easy solid four. When the office couldn't book me in the usual they always apologize for putting me in something like this but I always say don't apologize. This place is pretty nice. I actually like the older properties that are more resort like then cookie cutter big box hotels; especially when they're fresh. There's just something more fun about them. And you get larger rooms, solid concrete floors, and usually a larger pool; this one's one of the largest indoor ones I've seen in awhile. This one even has the heat lamps! Lol Room's can't be too far out of a remodel they're too nice not to have been. And probably one of the better sleeps so I've had in a long time. So happy happy happy. Enjoyed my stay. read more

The Quality Inn and Suites in Escanaba, Michigan is a decent place to stay. My wife and I went up to go to a concert at the Island Resort Casino in nearby Harris, Michigan. We would have stayed there but the hotel was sold out so we found the Quality Inn. The room was clean. They had plenty of pillows on the bed. We arrived pretty late Friday night so we put the do not disturb sign on the door and slept in. We went out for the day and came back to clean up before heading to the concert, and to our surprise our room was cleaned and made up. We have been to other hotels where when you miss the maid service, you make due. They don't come back. The price was very reasonable. The breakfast was ok. They had the usual microwave sausage and eggs. Assorted breads, muffins, and bagels. Assorted juices, milk, coffee, and cereals. The lobby was very cool. It was like a rustic log cabin feel. I didn't even realize it but they have a little pub and grill inside the hotel. I would recommend this place to anybody that needs a good nights rest. read more

First time staying here on my brother's recommendation. Older hotel but the rooms were very nice, updated fridge that kept everything super cold, and well working microwave! Very nice pool area and hot tub and they are open with people limitations right now. Due to Covid we got a free bagged breakfast and it was a small OJ, microwavable breakfast sandwich (with or without sausage), and orange and a delicious muffin. I would easily stay here again...and you should take a picture with the Moose statue out front :) OH HOW could I forget. We were exhausted so we ordered pizza from the SEASONS Lounge--attached. It was GREAT so save yourself the gas and just eat in :) read more

It's a good hotel in upper Peninsula but the Internet connection and services are bad.

The staff was pleasant. The room seemed clean except for mold on the floor of the tub. The breakfast was ok, but the coffee wasn't great. There was no bacon. it seemed over priced. read more

Nice hotel. Not the cleanest I've seen but I wasn't grossed out by any means. A little upgrading would help. The pool is large and clean. The one thing hat bothered me was the scrolling sign above the desk. It's so long it made me dizzy looking at it. Seems a little much for a hotel that has a beautiful lobby. read more

I have stayed at this hotel several times primarily because there are not many options. However, never again. Tonight, despite a reservation, my room had clearly not been cleaned. However, when I brought it to the front desk they told me I had to find somewhere else to stay so I had to find a new hotel at 11 pm ... worst customer service ever! read more

This hotel has a lot of employee pride! Christmas decor was amazing and all employees friendly! Breakfast was warm and delicious! This is probably the best hotel in Escanaba! This was a pleasant surprise and we will be back! read more

One of the worst motels ever. Called two hours ahead (2:30pm) to verify they had a restaurant and bar. Yes, they did. Arrived to find a very nice looking place. At checkin, told the restaurant would not be open tonight. 15 minutes later, the bar will not be open. I am sure it was my fault. I should have asked, if they would be open. Got a king room on the 4th floor. Smelled like someone had urinated in the AC unit. Ask for a new unit. No problem, change of room and much better. No apology from the front desk or like they cared. Asked about a sports bar to eat and watch preseason football. Told there was one with many TVs just 3/4 of a mike away. Actually 3 miles away and only one TV and no sports channel. Cab driver says we picked one of the worst places to stay in town. Driver said to stay at the Magnuson next time. A motel, restaurant snd a true sports bar, with people who care and are honest. read more

Traveling home from Houghton with no plan in mind we decided to stop in Escanaba for the night. Called a couple other local motels that were booked so I called an old standby chain I trust. Only two rooms available were a single queen or the king suite which had a hot tub! Since it was also our anniversary weekend we splurged and went for the suite. Room was huge with an adjoining room and full bath just for the hot tub. It's a little downhill from there. The two person hot tub was barely warm and adjusting the temp netted no results. I'm assuming management has it locked at a certain temp? Maybe 97 is warm enough for some but it was a darn chilly 97 IMO. Decided to warm up in the shower which was also a fail. Terrible water pressure and again not exactly what I would call hot water. Service was very friendly and it is a clean establishment. Just don't waste your money on the hot tub suite here. read more

If you are planning a trip to the UP and you find yourself near Escanaba, if you don't stay here you are making a big mistake. Every associate at the front desk was friendly and extremely helpful. The room, including the bathroom, was spotlessly clean. The breakfast had a good selection to choose from. This week my son and grandchildren also stayed there, and they loved the pool and were treated to ice cream and cookies at the front desk. read more

As we were traveling through Escanaba, our family decided to stop for the night at this Quality Inn. The lobby was very nice, and we got to spend quite a bit of time there checking in since there was a bit of a line (some sort of conference, I believe) but only one person at the desk. After we got checked in, we went to our room, but it clearly hadn't been cleaned at all yet (unmade beds, towels heaped on the floor) even though it was an hour after check in time began. The front desk quickly assigned us to another room, which seemed pretty decent at first. We did notice that housekeeping had missed one dirty towel on the back of the bathroom door (maybe the housekeeper was still in training?). And while the bathroom was pretty clean, I did notice some mold on the ceiling and the remnants of those anti-slip flowers in the bath tub. The key reason we decided to stay there was the pool for the kids and the free breakfast. The indoor pool was pretty good. It was comfortably heated, which is always a plus, large enough to play in, and didn't seem to be over chlorinated the way some hotel pools are. The hot tub was also comfortable, and there was a small sauna as well. The family really enjoyed that. read more
