This is one of the worst hotels we have ever stayed in. We got in at 1:30 a.m. because our flight was severely delayed. There was nobody at the front desk for at least 10 minutes. We got the key to our room upstairs (no elevator) and the door was propped open, and a big fan was on the floor because the carpet was all wet. There was a leak from the A/C, apparently. The guy at the front desk should have offered us another room. Thank God we only stayed there 1 night because it was very close to the Saugatuck Dune Buggy Ride. read more

I'd give this property zero stars if possible. I checked in on Friday afternoon, 07/28/23. I was part of a large bicycle team that arrived all at once. Management knew we were coming, but there was only one person at the front desk. It took me 40 minutes to check-in. Around 12:45 am, I woke up to the sound of a very strong thunderstorm. I couldn't figure out why it was so loud in my room. After about 10 minutes, I rolled over and got wet. It was raining on my bed through a seam in the drywall ceiling. Note that I was on the first floor of a two-story building. One of my teammates was in the room above me. He said the carpet near the window was totally soaked in the morning. I was able to obtain a new room but one of my teammates was unable to get a new room after it rained on her bed. The overall condition of the room wasn't great. The shower knob wasn't operative at first and the tub needed maintenance. As bad as getting rained on was, it took 12 days to receive a full refund. I called several times to check on my refund and repeatedly asked for a phone call from management. I never got a call. It's up in the air whether our team will stay at this property again next year. Room 119 smelled so bad I had a headache after 5 minutes of being in it. The curtains were ripped and the window did not open. The bedsheets looked clean but the chair was very dirty. After 10 minutes we checked out and asked for a refund. They said we had to call corporate as we placed it on the website. This was fine until we called corporate choice plus and learned the hotel never actually checked us out. The wonderful lady helping us was able to check us out and get a full refund. I usually book choice plus hotels and have never had this experience before. Sad one place gives a bad reputation. read more

I understand the process point and it was decently clean. They could help themselves by putting some restriction's on letting the workers that stay there not empty out the food for all customers so they can pack their bags for lunch. There is very limited breakfast as it is, but when they empty out the fruit, yogurt and other food there is nothing left. read more

So we went to check in last night and we were given a key to our room. We walk in and the bed in messed up and the Tv was on in the room. We were very confused and went to go tell the man at the front desk and he responded oddly and gave us a key to the next room. We go open the door and the bed is undone as well. So yeah safe to say that we were quite put off and decided to leave. read more

This place is average, not overly good, not overly bad, it's an average place for an average rate. The carpeting in the corridor needs a good cleaning. After a good first impression in a nice lobby, the corridor carpet put me off a bit but twenty feet down the hall, it's just fine. When I got into my room, it reaffirmed my good first impression. It was large, spacious and clean. There is a large, comfortable bed, an arm chair, desk and executive chair, a refrigerator (but no freezer) an atom smasher, iron and ironing board, and one of those one-cup coffee makers from the makers of the Easy Bake Oven. The television guide is all wrong but then, it's real purpose is to sell you a pizza but the cable guide is on Channel 1. Another review noticed highway noise on the front side of the property that faces US 31. My room was in the back and it was quiet all night. I slept like a rock on a newer, firm, mattress. The staff was courteous and helpful. During the Covid-19 scare (the time of my visit) the pool was closed and there was no food service so I cannot comment on the breakfast bar. In the darkness, it looked inviting, though. It'll never be listed in Zagat but if you want a serviceable place to sleep at a good rate, convenient to US 31, this place Is a good choice. read more

Great place, great price- a bargain Hotel that offers basic needs if you're not picky. As you enter the lobby to check in, the place seemed clean and amidst the COVID-19 new policies, this hotel seemed to be complying to all the new policies which I really appreciate. However, I was met with overwhelming smell of stale cigarette smoke smell. I made a comment to the front desk clerk about it, but he mentioned the smell is coming from the outside. The front desk clerk seemed accommodating and checking in was a breeze. This place is nothing fancy and it's conveniently located near downtown Holland, Michigan- only a 7 minutes drive with minimal traffic. So far, I'm happy with the accommodations 8 just with it's not smelling so much like stale cigarette smoke inside the building. Regardless where you I go, I can smell old cigarette smoke even our room that was supposed to be smoke free. This hotel is also conveniently located off the highway: I196 which makes it very easy to travel. The room was clean, bathroom was clean, and everything works- shower pressure was pretty good, there's mini fridge, microwave and tv with cable provided. Overall, I would rate the place 4, but because of the smoky smell, I have to know a point down to 3/5. Yes, I will recommend this place if you're on a budget like me and does not want to pay a lot of money for accommodations, but prefers to spend money elsewhere. read more

The front desk staff was amazing and nice, especially April. Beds were very comfortable.

An absolutely horrible experience at this hotel. The breaker blew no less than 20 times this week causing the electricity to go out in my room. They would not allow me to switch rooms despite this. I had to call each day to ask the staff to flip the breaker. Never once did they apologize. It was quite dirty and I found the staff to be unhelpful most of the time. There was just something "off" about this place. Something unsettling. Most of the doors in the hallway were propped open all day and the noise of TV's and radios was blaring. I assume it has become an apartment or housing complex of sorts. The amount of people in and out despite an empty parking lot was disturbing. read more

Good, well lit, and decent price,$70, before our AARP discount. Upgraded to a suite 2 rooms, 2 tv's, on the first floor (without our asking) by the very pleasant desk girl since we have white hair and their elevator was out. Clean, very large probably California king bed. The included breakfast was also pretty good; freshly made scrambled eggs buffet style, hard boiled too, sausages bananas, apples, yogurt, oatmeal, rice crispies, Cheerios and cornflakes and of coarse, the waffle machine. read more

This hotel was not worth the money. When booking online we said we needed a crib. When checking in, the lady at the front desk, after we asked for the crib, told us they couldn't find any. I was ticked off, but we went to the room. The room was gross, the carpet and chair felt wet, there was mold on the curtains.. see picture, and the ceiling had water damage. The pool was nice, but definitely not warm, and lots of tree debris and bugs floating around in it. The lobby was unkept as well and free breakfast was low quality. We eventually got the "crib" which was just an old dirty pack and play. Our son did not do well at night. We had booked two nights but after the first we decided to end our trip. I spoke with the clerk in the lobby and mentioned I was sure he had complaints of our son screaming all night, and we would like to leave early. He told me he understood and he would issue a refund and email us the receipt. That never happened and silly me didn't get it in writing, so we paid for the second night. We will not be staying at any quality inn and suites in the future. read more

I canceled my stay (due to an extension on the COVID19 situation) it has been over a week and no refund... I am now being told it could take up to a MONTH to get my money back. The bed was surprisingly the only decent thing about this place. Stains all over the walls and towels. Bath tub, wall, and ceiling all peeling. Walls are thin and place smelled like a combo of damp basement and weed. Holland has so much to offer.....stay away from this place. read more

This place is great for the price. They have a pool that supposedly is heated, but wasn't, which meant even 82degree day in mid-September was too cold to swim. Check-in prior to 3pm was kind of problematic, but got resolved. The room is adequate, a little musty smelling, and water-stained ceiling is undesirable, but the beds are massively comfortable, and everything is very clean! The personnel (with the obvious exception of the problematic check-in) are personable, friendly and very helpful. I overslept (because the bed was so comfortable and the black out curtains worked great!) and the breakfast food was being put away, but purposely extremely slowly so we could still get hot food at almost 10am! The rooms are a nice size, have the usual amenities I'm looking for (tv, mini-fridge, a/c, WiFi). So if you're looking for a clean, quiet place to get some quality sleep with few frills for a very reasonable price - this is ideal. read more

The staff let us check in an hour early as well as upgrading our reservation at no charge, helping us feel much more at peace after the crazy day we had already had. Currently under renovation/construction, but they asked our pardon for that. Suitably comfy beds, easy to connect to wifi. Dad and I walked the neighborhood as well, I wouldn't have done so alone. Never again. Room smelled of stale cigarettes! Dor $115 a night, disappointed!! I expected better. Remodeled was nothing like photos. The adjouring door had a window screen (painted) where deadbolt was orignally!! Sprinkler on ceiling was rusted. Mold and mildew behind toilet. Very dark decor, creepy. Breakfast was cold considering watched them heat it all by microwave. Will not stay and we visit 3 - 4 times a year. Very disappointed!! read more

I have never encountered a hotel where they do not run the A/C in either your room or inside the hotel during a heat wave. The room A/C was slow to cool taking at least 6 hours at the lowest setting. Front desk was apathetic to say the least. Do not stay here in the summer. I wonder if they bother with heat in the winter?! read more

I was in town three nights for a wedding, and just wanted something simple and economical. This place is in no way fancy, but had a list of amenities that fit my list. Here's what I liked: -Clean (although I wouldn't hang out on the floor, so you might consider a more expensive place if you have a crawling baby) -Very friendly staff -Quiet room (ours faced the highway, but you can request a backside room, too) -Very comfortable bed; great sheets, blanket and pillows -Free wi-fi -A/C was temperature controlled, so I didn't get too hot or cold -Coffee maker, microwave and quiet refrigerator in room (instant creamer, though, but they gave me real milk downstairs) -Iron and ironing board (which I needed) -Shampoo and conditioner; nice towels -Great breakfast (eggs, sausage, waffle maker, yogurt, etc.) -Swimming pool (outdoors, though, so not in winter; and unfortunately no jacuzzi) -gym room with treadmill, stair climber, multi-exercise weight machine and TV -computer with internet and printer -The rooms are inside a secure building. I felt very safe. What I didn't like: -No jacuzzi -Hallway was a slight bit musty smelling, but not a big deal. The rooms were great, though. -Just a view of the highway outside my window (I recommend requesting a room on the other side of the hall, which might have a better view) -Furniture in the rooms was basic; nothing to appreciate in terms of style If I were in town with family, and planned to hang out at our hotel a bit more, I would probably have spent the extra money and upgraded to a fancier, more central hotel like City Flats downtown. But since this hotel was half the price, and I was only there to sleep (and take a quick swim), I'm very happy with my choice. I would definitely stay here again under these circumstances. read more
