My husband and I stayed one night on our way to Florida. We have stayed here the last couple of years. While it has never been a "great" experience it worked. Not this year. The place is filthy and disgusting. The outdoor trash cans, one of which is in the pool area, are overflowing with garbage and rodents. The pool area is dirty....empty beer cans are all over amongst the trash and leaves. The morning we were leaving we overheard a guest who was staying in room 122 that his wife had been bitten by bedbugs and he showed the desk clerk the bugs. The breakfast kitchen area is also unkept with both waffle makers broken. Upon checking out, I told the owner about the garbage and his response was "oh". read more

The front desk team was friendly and efficient. My room was clean and comfortable, and the location was perfect.

Spent 3 nights in handicap room. We used the inn as a base to tour Beaufort SC, Savannah, Jekyll island, and other sites. Did not use daily cleaning but we set garbage and dirty towels outside door. Received fresh bagged towels in morning. Simple breakfast-- cereals, waffles, yogurt, juices, pancakes, granola bars, muffins. Quiet in our wing but another guest complained about noise from "spring breakers" elsewhere. Clean, neat hotel. Enjoyed our stay. read more

Travelling down I-95 with a truck or trailer load of your stuff? This is the hotel to stay at then. The hotel is equipped with security cameras 360 degrees around the grounds. The desk clerk has a 32" monitor that shows them all and it is right in the view so it cannot be ignored. Several vehicles left their bikes and luggage in trailers, truck beds, etc overnight and found that nothing was disturbed the next morning. The rooms are a little dated and repaired; however, they are a good size and clean. The price was excellent for the circumstances. Check-in was easy and checkout was effortless. I don't recommend the breakfast bar, only because I don't eat that sort of food. read more

I would give 3.5 stars, we are passing through and stopped at around 11:30pm with my pup and spent the night. The room was clean and was updated nicely, there was definitely an odor to the room however, the dog sniffed the carpet for quite some time. It may have been urinated on by a previous furry guest. I suggest a good carpet cleaning in the room. Other than that it was pretty much what one should expect. Nicest motel off exit 49 / I95 I am rating this 3 stars for what type of hotel it is and its purpose. It is a roadside place, clean rooms with nice staff and a fair price. Nice big rooms, plenty of convenient parking and a free breakfast. The outside of the hotel desperately needs a pressure wash and the AC units need to be de-funkified, but maybe that has been taken care of since I was there. read more

We stayed at this hotel for one night. When we checked in, there were signs at the front desk that said pets weren't allowed. We were given a room on the first floor next to the ice machine and across from a room that had a constantly barking dog in it. I asked why the dog was there and was told by "Bmille" that it was the only pet room. We were moved to another room which was on the second floor OVER THE DOG ROOM. We drowned out the barking with the TV and sprayed the room with air freshener to get rid the musky smell. There was Damp Rid bag hanging in the window that had been there since 8/23/19. The sheets looked clean but the carpet, walls, and furniture were old and dirty. Our room had previously included a kitchenette but they hadn't removed the cabinets or counters. Since it was one night, we made the best of the room. The main issue we had was the breakfast area. Breakfast is served from 6 - 9 a.m. and we went at 8 a.m. The apple juice dispenser was broken. Neither of the waffle makers got hot enough and made waffles raw on the inside. We sat down to eat and my wife complained of her muffins tasting stale. My sausage patties and "fried" eggs were cold. The waffles were raw on the inside. Her yogurt tasted barely cool. I went through everything on the food line and found that the serving tray for the sausage and eggs was barely warm and the grease in the bottom of the sausage pan was congealed. I checked the dates on the muffins and Madeleines in the serving case and both were expired. The muffins were three weeks out of date and the Madeleines were 4 days out of date. I brought this to the manager's attention and he had the server throw out the almost full boxes of muffins and pastries but she left the ones in the top of the display case that were from the same boxes. First of all, The staff at this hotel are well trained, very courteous and helpful. They rival the staff of some of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. My room was clean, fresh, and nicely appointed. This hotel is pet friendly, and gives a 20% veteran discount. I have never encountered such a generous discount in all of my travels. I highly recommend quality inn at Darien and will certainly stay here again as I travel through South Georgia. read more

This is not a luxury hotel, but a decent place to rest your head while traveling. The rooms, linens, and bath were clean. There were ample pillows and blankets for my family of four. The room had a fridge, microwave, and safe. This hotel is small, dated, some items were in disrepair (i.e. loose towel bar, slow tub drain), and there were several cosmetic flaws (i.e. varnish stain on closet door, yellowed outlet covers). All not surprising for a budget hotel right off I-95. The complimentary breakfast was surprisingly varied and decent--sausage patties, eggs, blueberry waffles, fruit, yogurt, etc. The most notable feature of this hotel (and thus the 3-star rating) is the EXCEPTIONALLY friendly staff. We were greeted at 1 am by a sleepy-eyed, but incredibly pleasant lady. The morning clerk was equally pleasant as she worked the breakfast nook. She made our waffles and packaged them up nicely for me to take back to my sleeping boys. read more

Sorry the rating of my review is so low. Although our room was clean, roomy and attractive, there was a strong odor in our room that I believe was due to off gassing from the carpeting. It loooked brand new. The odor was strong enough to affect my sinuses until I took Benadryl to relieve them. We understood the room was pet free but a neighboring room had a small dog that barked constantly throughout the night keeping my wife awake. The breakfast room is totally inadequate and needs to be expanded. read more

If you're looking for 5 star quality, you're probably not looking at this chain to begin with, not to mention going to Darien, Georgia. That written, this motel fared better than I had expected. Be forewarned - if you're expecting to enjoy a leisurely complimentary breakfast, this motel has 66 rooms and 4 tables. It's across from an outlet mall, and bargain hunters flock to complimentary breakfasts. We didn't bother with the breakfast, choosing the McDonald's not too far away. There are other choices as well. The front desk staff is VERY friendly. While I was a little put off to find the front desk clerk outside, sitting on a luggage cart and smoking, she was very friendly, got up right away, and found my reservation and had us checked in quickly. You have to ask for a second key if you need two. The night person was also very friendly. They'll make change for the soda machine for you. THUMBS UP - a 20 oz Coke product only cost $1.50 here!! The luggage carts were small but serviceable. Actually, considering the cost, I was surprised to find luggage carts at all. You get the free WiFi password at check-in. There's a little lounge off the tiny lobby with a TV and chairs. It was playing Leave It To Beaver when we checked in. Room - It passed the bug inspection. The mattress pad was stained, but the mattress was in good repair. The sheets appeared clean - no hairs or stains. The room was clean to the eye - I didn't run my finger over the pictures or anything to check for deeper cleanliness. The sink is outside the toilet/bath area. It was badly cracked and poorly mended, but it worked and didn't seem to leak. The carpet has seen better days. Walking around the room, I discovered that the carpet around the HVAC unit was soaking wet, which helped explain the musty odor in the room. This room had a common problem - the window curtain is too long and gets caught by the air from the HVAC. This forces the air downward, which I suspect leads to condensation on the carpet. It also causes any dirt or mold trapped in the curtain to circulate throughout the room, as well as making the HVAC unit inefficient at heating or cooling. I folded the luggage rack and propped it on the HVAC, trapping the curtain and freeing the airflow. Furniture is old and scratched, but there's a safe and a nice flatscreen TV, as well as complimentary coffee service. The most striking thing about the room is the number of lamps. It looks like it was updated to move from wall sconces to table lamps, but the wall sconces are still there! In all there were 8 lamps, but only 4 or 5 worked. The bathroom was mostly clean. There was dust and dirt buildup in the corners, but the toilet and tub were visibly clean. I don't do a Melchiorre and run toilet paper under the rim. Towels are standard budget motel issue, and had no visible hairs or stains on them. If you want a nice, clean, friendly place to sleep and shower, this is a great choice. read more

It was most definitly the best stay iv had in a hotel/ room in along time, im traveling to florida ,and was so tired and needed to pull off and sleep ,They were so welcoming,and had one room left ,The price was fantasfic ( surprised me)and my first and main concern when i stay somewhere is cleanlyness my room was hudge and so clean and the bed is to die for ,u just sink in the fluffy down blanket and pillows u just sink, Im sorry but u dont find that much , were u just want to stay in the bed cause your so comfy. With all that The people ,cleaning ladies, front desk, and even the manger he was hands on with everything ,even there to greet me,there all great happy and make u feel at home , i will defintily keep them on my list to stay on my next trip to the south in January. Budget motels,more than other types of lodging, follow a capital investment cycle. Quality is found in newer chains, and the budget motel model doesn't provide for sufficient funding to adequately upgrade. The new kid on the block becomes the quality leader. That is why you should never stay at the motel nearest the exit, because that is the oldest facility. For a comfort inn, I give it 4 stars. Receptionist Nakisha was outstanding!! Fixed our booking problem, and was extremely courteous, and friendly! Made our extremely stressful holiday travel end with a smile! Excellent service! Ok now that I'm in the room, I'll change it to 2 stars. Air conditioning barely works, bathroom is not as clean as can be....and for the first time ever I seem to have stayed in a hotel that doesn't have a vending machine! My family stayed here about three weeks ago. When we arrived at 12:30 our room was not ready. We were a little early as my price line print out stated 2. The manager was very rude about us being early. We went and had dinner and came back 3 hours later. The room appeared clean and very neat. The beds were very comfortable. We went to the pool which was green, probably the reason I read it was closed a few weeks ago, and then went to see family. When we got back late everyone went upstairs. My son and I went back out to the car to lock up our tent because of the sketchy people looking around of car. When we went back in there we 5 roaches on the wall, I tried to overlook it as it was a wall close to the door. I set the air lower when we returned to the room as it seemed to be hot in there. We all woke up the next morning to a very hot room. Again I tried to let it all go and enjoy my vacation and move on. We were only passing through for the night. The next morning we were leaving and packing I had my youngest son who is 8 looking under the bed to make sure nothing was left behind. He comes back up with a purple object and ask me what it was. I was shocked to see him holding a dildo. Yep, good old house keeping. We brushed our teeth, the sink would not drain, and I pulled the drain up and found mold. I went down stairs and told my husband to discard it in the trash, maybe I should have taken to the front desk in front of all the guest. I told the lady about my complaints and concerns, she was very understanding and wanted to refund me my entire night which I thought was fair considering. She had to call the manager named Chuck that I had dealt with the day before. He said no. I got back 30 bucks. While all of this was going on a maid came up and apologized and stated the maid who cleaned the room did not look under the bed. While the assistant manager was on the phone with Chuck I also heard her say that, they had had several problems with ac in rooms and it needed to be fixed. FLAG- Chuck doesn't care. I called Chuck the next day who didn't care about my issues with his place and I asked to speak to the owner. He said he would have him call me. Chuck called me back and wanted me to email a picture of the object found. I told him when I got off the beach I would. I did so a few hours later. Three days went by with no call. I called chuck back who quickly turned the conversation about the roaches and said I had no proof, I should have taken pictures. He told me he watched the camera in the hall where I talked to his staff and it was only 1 roach, and to my knowledge there was n cameras and I could be wrong but I did not lie. I did go back and get the object out of the trash which was really gross I know, and I did not tell them I did that as we drove around back to get it after I finished at the front desk. This is a pretty typical Comfort Inn - not super nice and a little shabby but acceptable for a few days. There was a mini-fridge and microwave in the room. The big reasons for the two stars: The front desk guy was rude when we checked in. There was a woman in front of us who was having trouble getting her computer to connect to the internet, and the guy kept telling her that it was obviously a problem with her computer, not their internet. She ended up going across the street to the Hampton Inn where her internet worked. I also asked a question about where to sign on the check-in sheet (their printer is bad and smears part of the page) and got a very sarcastic answer about "where is says to sign". Hair in the tub when I checked in. One of my biggest issues was the older woman working in the breakfast area in the morning. My co-worker accidentally spilled some cereal and poured too much into his bowl, and this woman just told him to open up the lid and pour the excess back in. He didn't, but it still makes you wonder how much food had gone back in. She then stood there talking to us the entire time we were eating our breakfast. When we got ready to leave, she demanded my co-worker give her a hug from cleaning up the cereal he spilled!!! She did the same thing to other co-workers and other people staying at the hotel other days we were there. If you can stay someplace, do it. If you can't, avoid the breakfast area and the older guy working the front desk. There is a younger woman working at the front desk who was friendly and helpful, but overall, I would definitely not recommend this place. read more

The only reason that I am not giving one star is the young lady at the front desk. I cannot fathom how disgusting the pool is. It was green! I can accept some leaves, but not it being green with algea from lack of care and chlorine. In my home state it would be a health code violation. The pool is the reason we chose this place, and I wouldn't let my dog go in it if I had one. I have yet to see how their "hot breakfast" is but I may just skip it because of the apparent lack of cleanliness everywhere else. read more
