    Looks okay, right...? Not quite.
    Anna M.

When we needed a one-night stay in the area for an event and my preferred Choice Hotel family chain was not available, I looked at this QI. I have stayed at another QI frequently in a college town and not been disappointed, so I thought this might be the same. I made the mistake of looking only at the star-rating on the hotel site, or I probably would have chosen someplace else. As we started our check-in, the desk clerk took a personal call and didn't get off the call the entire time. So she just said the room was "by the breezeway," so we made a complete loop of the lot looking for it. The room itself left a lot to be desired. Nice TV. Super nice hot water. Plenty of options on the continental breakfast. Those are the most positive things I can say. The pull-out chair was stained, filthy, and ripped. Fortunately, we didn't need to use it as a bed so I don't know the condition of it pulled out. The sheets were probably clean on the main bed, but it didn't help that there was a black mark on them right in plain view, making them questionable, but passable after we pulled them back and did the obligatory check for bed bugs. The little toiletries are always nice, but there was sanitizer, lotion, soap, and conditioner, but no shampoo; fortunately I had a half tube from a previous hotel stay in my bag. The door to the bathroom wouldn't close properly. You had to lift the toilet seat for the door to close since it was such a tight fit. The open wall by the bed had apparently been patched, but the spackle hadn't been sanded yet. (I can overlook that since they probably are prepping in stages, and I think it was a pretty booked weekend.) The desk chair should probably have been in the dumpster or listed as a freebie on Craigslist. It was peeling and pretty gross. The hairdryer had obviously not been cleaned in a while, as it had schmutz all over it, and the entire top of it was broken off; again, should have been in the dumpster and was quite possibly a fire hazard. Interestingly, I booked as a Choice Hotels member, and you can only leave a review on their site if you get an invitation after checkout; surprise, surprise--no review link in the follow-up email after checkout. No wonder it had 3.5/5 stars on their site.

Nasty chair in the room I didn't even want to set my suitcase on

WARNING: Do NOT stay here!!! Now that you have been warned I will explain why. We checked in at the nice looking lobby and were told we couldn't enter our room until 3 as they were short on housekeeping. Got back to the room at 3:30 and keys didn't work. Went to the desk and they re-made our keys and went to our room. Opened the door and there were other people in our room. After finally getting a room of our own we went out for dinner and came back to relax and watch tv. Well, the TV didn't work. Called the desk and the guy living with his two dogs in the next room came to fix it, with no mask on. Couldn't fix it, so he brought another and set it in front of the other tv. And said there you go. Went to heat up my coffee the next morning, nope, the microwave didn't work. Left for the day and took all our stuff with us as we didn't trust to leave it in the room. Came back and they had been there to clean but didn't make the beds, vacuum or clean the bathrooms s the toilet paper behind the door was still there from when we checked in. Laid in the other bed on night two and the sheets smelled of body odor from people staying in the room before us. This place has gone down hill badly as we had stayed before and while it wasn't a 5 star we figured try again. We will never return to this hotel again and it really deserves NO stars. Here are a couple pictures of that the room really looks like as their pictures are FAKE.

Would not really use the word quality to describe this hotel. Front desk staff is not friendly, constantly on their phone or seem annoyed when you ask a question. No one cleaned our room. Breakfast was very lacking with a broken toaster. Hole in our bed spread. Lobby is clean. Pool was dirty. Very disappointed.

Place was disgusting. Found pants and an adult toy. Mold in the bathtub, rust and disgustingness on every lamp. Mold on the floor. Could not even stay the two nights we had booked. Overall filthy do not stay here !!!! Would give 0 stars if possible

Some kind of crud on the soap package

I would not recommend this place to anyone. We booked a room through Hotwire for a King Suite. When we checked in and went to the room we were not given the room we paid for. They told us Hotwire did not send them any of our info so they had no way of telling us they didn't have any King Suites. I called Hotwire and Hotwire in turn called the hotel. Lo and behold they had a King suite that's "rarely ever rented out. " We were ensured that the room has been cleaned and sanitized. It had not. There was urine all over the toilet and hair everywhere in the bathroom. We were told the manager was going to give us a partial refund. We have yet to see that refund. The ice machine on the second floor was broke and the breakfast items were not restocked. This place is disgusting and nobody knows what they're doing.

It only allows a one star review but this place deserves nothing. Terrible room. Dirty. Bizarre stains on the comforters. Hair under the sheets. Mold growing near the bathroom. The door to the room was wide open when we arrived. When the front desk was contacted, they did nothing. No extra rooms were there and they would not move us to a different hotel nor would they guarantee a refund of our money already paid. I had postponed writing this until I had dealt with Choice and the GM at this hotel. After getting a refund, I asked for a reimbursement of the hotel I had to pay for that night due to their inability to work with us and help us at all. Nothing happened and in fact, the GM ended up emailing me telling me that the mess could have very well been from us. Terrible place. Avoid it at all costs.

We stopped by because my husband had a tattoo appointment a few miles away. We checked in and found stained nasty sheets. They lady at the front desk didn't offer to change them only handed me sheets. I sat them in the room and went to the appointment we came back to find a bug in the room, someone else's leftovers in the refrigerator, and a cigarette butt in the pull out couch. There was a different girl at the desk when we came back. The girl at the front desk said we could check out and get a refund in the morning. We called for a refund and the man refused. We use choice hotels often but this was the nastiest hotel I've ever been inside of.

Walk into my room with blood stained sheets....gross!!

We tried a few new things that we hadn't tried before. Myself, the Aged Hand Cut Filet Mignion (I usually go for the Ribeye) ordered Pittsburgh Medium Rare, It was cooked to perfection! It's one of the best Steaks I've ever had, and that's saying a lot! My grandson had the Snapper Orleans covered in the Shrimp & Crawfish Cream Sauce with Caesar Salad. He didn't leave a morsel. In fact, I got the last bit of sauce on my spectacular Sour Dough Bread Loaf that we shared (my first time trying this, awesome). My wife made a meal of the Crab Claw Appetizer, with a Garden Mixed Salad and side of Red Potatoes. The sides of Okra, Fries, and Green Beans were all homemade and delicious.I also treated myself to a Peanut Butter Bushwacker, and we shared two Apple/Peach Beignets for dessert. As is normal, we left with two to go boxes and meals for tomorrow.

She greeted us warmly with 2 free complimentary mugs from the hotel and showed us around where they have snacks in case you get hungry, teas, hot chocolate and coffee in case you get thirsty. She also gave us a tour of the cute outdoor pool area and where they have live music in the upstairs bar! She even helped us get a cart to bring our luggage to the room! Our room was charming and they have beautiful outdoor balconies and porches to relax as well. I appreciate that the hotel is non smoking but there are designated outdoor smoking areas. There is also an ice maker and communal fridge in the hallway by our room. And one of the best parts of the stay is the delicious breakfast in the morning that was included in our stay! Ms. Lula was lovely and the hot, homemade breakfast was tasty and such a great way to start our day! It was so lovely meeting the co-owners Ms. Diana and Mr. Kevin! They are the epitome of southern hospitality!

He was pretty much the highlight of the stay, being checked in by him. The negative of the property; The gym floors do not appear as if they have ever been cleaned. I saw the same dirt and grime on the floor throughout my entire visit while at the property. The room did not have a working garbage disposal. The floors are the thinnest floors I have ever experienced at a hotel (If you read through the threads, others complain about this too). If you get down to breakfast anytime past 7:45 AM, Walmart is better civilized than this place. It is beyond crowded, and the waffle machine, forget trying even to use that. The staff is not on top of this area's madhouse, as there were a lot of items not restocked. I would describe how condescending and mean Peggy at the front desk is. But, in the end, I do not think it will make a big difference with management. We had several interactions with her in person and on the phone over several days. For people to say she was helpful or has been helpful in the past must be dealing with a completely different Peggy than we watched over our entire trip while we were there. Would I stay here again, not unless there was no other option. I would have to be on the 4th floor and use whatever side door possible to try and avoid any form if interaction with Peggy.
