Do not stay here!!! Fraud and misrepresentation of the room you will get. Internet sites showed a fully renovated room. When I arrived I got a bathroom full of mold and rust stains. The smoke detector had been removed. There were unrepaired holes in the walls. Paint was peeling from the ceiling and the in-room fridge was not sanitary. Cheap place to stay at that is near the beach but also close to many other things. I like that it was near a lot of restaurants, Owa, multiple putt putt courses and Tanger Outlet. When we got our room keys and went to the room, the door was already wide open. We talked to the front desk person and they told us not to worry. The room always had a musty smell during our stay. Some areas had mold. We were placed in the handicap room, and while we are abled bodied, many of the accessibility aspects were not functional (doorbell alert, no safety cord in bathroom, etc). Breakfast was standard (bread items, cereal, waffle maker, egg). Definitely get there early cause they run out of things around 830. Most juices don't seem to be replaced regularly. One morning one juice was just water, then the next morning the apple juice was just water. Overall, cheap stay with a lot of activities and restaurants around it. When we needed a one-night stay in the area for an event and my preferred Choice Hotel family chain was not available, I looked at this QI. I have stayed at another QI frequently in a college town and not been disappointed, so I thought this might be the same. I made the mistake of looking only at the star-rating on the hotel site, or I probably would have chosen someplace else. As we started our check-in, the desk clerk took a personal call and didn't get off the call the entire time. So she just said the room was "by the breezeway," so we made a complete loop of the lot looking for it. The room itself left a lot to be desired. Nice TV. Super nice hot water. Plenty of options on the continental breakfast. Those are the most positive things I can say. The pull-out chair was stained, filthy, and ripped. Fortunately, we didn't need to use it as a bed so I don't know the condition of it pulled out. The sheets were probably clean on the main bed, but it didn't help that there was a black mark on them right in plain view, making them questionable, but passable after we pulled them back and did the obligatory check for bed bugs. The little toiletries are always nice, but there was sanitizer, lotion, soap, and conditioner, but no shampoo; fortunately I had a half tube from a previous hotel stay in my bag. The door to the bathroom wouldn't close properly. You had to lift the toilet seat for the door to close since it was such a tight fit. The open wall by the bed had apparently been patched, but the spackle hadn't been sanded yet. (I can overlook that since they probably are prepping in stages, and I think it was a pretty booked weekend.) The desk chair should probably have been in the dumpster or listed as a freebie on Craigslist. It was peeling and pretty gross. The hairdryer had obviously not been cleaned in a while, as it had schmutz all over it, and the entire top of it was broken off; again, should have been in the dumpster and was quite possibly a fire hazard. Interestingly, I booked as a Choice Hotels member, and you can only leave a review on their site if you get an invitation after checkout; surprise, surprise--no review link in the follow-up email after checkout. WARNING: Do NOT stay here!!! Now that you have been warned I will explain why. We checked in at the nice looking lobby and were told we couldn't enter our room until 3 as they were short on housekeeping. Got back to the room at 3:30 and keys didn't work. Went to the desk and they re-made our keys and went to our room. Opened the door and there were other people in our room. After finally getting a room of our own we went out for dinner and came back to relax and watch tv. Well, the TV didn't work. Called the desk and the guy living with his two dogs in the next room came to fix it, with no mask on. Couldn't fix it, so he brought another and set it in front of the other tv. And said there you go. Went to heat up my coffee the next morning, nope, the microwave didn't work. Left for the day and took all our stuff with us as we didn't trust to leave it in the room. Came back and they had been there to clean but didn't make the beds, vacuum or clean the bathrooms s the toilet paper behind the door was still there from when we checked in. Laid in the other bed on night two and the sheets smelled of body odor from people staying in the room before us. This place has gone down hill badly as we had stayed before and while it wasn't a 5 star we figured try again. We will never return to this hotel again and it really deserves NO stars. I would not recommend this place to anyone. We booked a room through Hotwire for a King Suite. When we checked in and went to the room we were not given the room we paid for. They told us Hotwire did not send them any of our info so they had no way of telling us they didn't have any King Suites. I called Hotwire and Hotwire in turn called the hotel. Lo and behold they had a King suite that's "rarely ever rented out. " We were ensured that the room has been cleaned and sanitized. It had not. There was urine all over the toilet and hair everywhere in the bathroom. We were told the manager was going to give us a partial refund. We have yet to see that refund. The ice machine on the second floor was broke and the breakfast items were not restocked. This place is disgusting and nobody knows what they're doing. read more

The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The room was fine. king bed was very comfortable. I did see 3 roaches in the room. There was black mold on the ceiling in the closet area and looked as if the mold was covered up by paint in the bathroom. The housekeeping department was pretty much non existent. I tried speaking with one housekeeper for more towels. she was from Ukraine and spoke no English. I was here 4 days. The bed was never made. The wood floor was never swept or vacuumed. The dresser tops and desk top were never wiped off. The day before my checkout I received some fresh bath towels but no wash cloth, hand towel or bath mat. The tub was not cleaned from day before. The free breakfast was adequate. Overall I would not choose this hotel again nor would I recommend it to anyone. read more

It only allows a one star review but this place deserves nothing. Terrible room. Dirty. Bizarre stains on the comforters. Hair under the sheets. Mold growing near the bathroom. The door to the room was wide open when we arrived. When the front desk was contacted, they did nothing. No extra rooms were there and they would not move us to a different hotel nor would they guarantee a refund of our money already paid. I had postponed writing this until I had dealt with Choice and the GM at this hotel. After getting a refund, I asked for a reimbursement of the hotel I had to pay for that night due to their inability to work with us and help us at all. We stopped by because my husband had a tattoo appointment a few miles away. We checked in and found stained nasty sheets. They lady at the front desk didn't offer to change them only handed me sheets. I sat them in the room and went to the appointment we came back to find a bug in the room, someone else's leftovers in the refrigerator, and a cigarette butt in the pull out couch. There was a different girl at the desk when we came back. The girl at the front desk said we could check out and get a refund in the morning. We called for a refund and the man refused. To start off our sheets were blood stained in multiple spots. There are bugs everywhere crawling and little gnats. The curtains have holes in them which let in light. There was nothing quality about this inn. The pool was small and dirty. There is no spa. The room had tons of water stains on the ceiling and the bedspread was dirty (we went and bought some from Wal-Mart). The ceiling in the shower was full of mold and the shower itself had tons of mold, I once again bought cleaner at Wal-Mart and still wore my shoes while in the shower. At check in the gentleman at the counter was very sarcastic to the person in front of me. I wouldn't stay there again for anything. If I hadn't paid in full before hand I would have just turned around and left once I saw the room. I have never seen a hotel room so run down. I think the cleaning crew did what the could with what they had but the hotel was in poor repair. The only upside to this place was the wonderful attendant at breakfast. Just spent the weekend, definitely needs some work done. 1. They need to work on the ceiling of the bathroom, it was peeling and it seemed dirty and not hygienic to me. The bathroom should be the cleanest place of the room, it even had mold in the corners. 2. One of the covers of the bed had several stains, making us even doubt if the wash them or if they just make the bed and leave the same bed spread that the guest before us used. Stayed here for two nights while visiting in the Foley area. I had stayed at the Econo-Lodge across the street last time I was in the area, and I couldn't remember which place I had stayed. Wish I remembered better, as the Quality Inn in Foley left a bit to be desired. Not a complete dump, but a bit pricey for what you get. TV was so blurry.....and old, that it essentially was unusable. No functional wireless signal in our room. I'll pass for another property next time. read more

Beds were comfortable and no sign of bed bugs. Outside entrance so lots of noise of folks coming and going all night long. Bathroom was tiny tiny tiny and pretty gross. I opted out of a shower hoping for a cleaner place our next night on the road. Our bill was higher by $25 because we had a small pet with us. We informed the person tthat took our reservation that we had a pet but nothing was ever said about an extra $25 . If you bring a pet bring your pepper spray for walking you pet because the surrounding establishments are a little dicey. I wouldn't stay here again. read more

RUN, DON'T WALK FAR AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL! I don't know why 0 stars is not an option. There is nothing quality about this inn. It is the bates motel... unfortunately they charge you a ton because of the location when it is essentially a Super 8. I regret not staying at the Super 8 across the street to be honest. The room was not very clean, the beds were uncomfortable but I could get past that part. I am low maintenance and don't expect much... I do however expect WiFi. There wifi was working for their employees via the "front desk" wifi, however guest WiFi was down and no one cared. They gave me the phone number for the help desk which I spent 20 minutes on the phone with them to be told the problem was with the actual internet/router at the physical hotel and there was nothing they could do but send out a technician. I was there for 3 nights so that was not fun. Neither was the pot smell that came pouring into my room... I understand it is not their fault that a guest was smoking pot, but it just added to the horribleness of this stay. I called in the afternoon the day before check out and asked if I could do a late checkout. They told me the lasest they could do was noon, I said that would be great thank you. She said she would put it down in the notes. Normal check out time is at 11... so why is the first maidPOUNDING on my door at 10:30 which is before the normal check out time when the privacy please placard is on my door?! She proceeded to open the door but I had the latch on it and I jumped up and said they said I could check out at noon what is the problem? She played it off saying she was so so sorry and wanted to know if I needed anything before I left. No thank you and I closed the door. The fire alarm also went off twice this morning...hmmm maybe the pot smokers set it off? I understand that is also not the fault of the hotel however it was the cherry on top of this crap sandwich sundae! THE LAST STRAW was when I was in the shower at 11:15 with a SECOND angry maid pounding on my door, and that is when I snapped. I got out of the shower, in my towel and opened the door with the latch on, I said they said I could leave at noon this is the second time, I DO NOT UNDERSTAND the problem!!!!!!!!!!!!! I call the front desk, manager answers and proceeds to tell me no one made a note that I had late check out. So because of your incompetent employees I get harassed twice, once before REGULAR CHECK OUT TIME and second before my late check out time which was a whopping hour extra. I understand they do not have to provide late check out, if you don't want to accommodate me just say it! I had a 4 hour drive ahead of me in a thunderstorm which was extra fun due to the lack of sleep because they can't make a simple note that says when I am checking out. I am glad I didn't kill anyone on the road that day being so tired while driving. So at this point I'm livid and the second maid pounding on the door was the final straw... I get all my stuff get dressed since I already got out of the shower and went and told them I have never wanted to leave a place so bad in my life. LITERALLY stay anywhere else, I will be posting this everywhere, because it is literally that bad. This is my first bad review I've ever left for a hotel and it truly has been earned. Do not even bother booking here's the customer service is absolutely terrible and they could not careless about their customers or doing the right thing. We are traveling from out of state (Texas) and there are several vehicles worth of us traveling together. We accidentally booked a room for ourselves not knowing that a room had already been booked by someone in another vehicle. The confusion was realized within 10-15 minutes and I called immediately to correct the mistake and cancel my room. I was told I can't cancel my room and that even if I do, I will still be charged for the room because it is within the 24 hours cancellation policy. What?!? I literally JUST made the reservation. So now... I'm out almost 140 bucks even if I cancel. Thanks for bending me over and sticking it to me. It is up to the individual facility wether or not I'm charged, and the general manager absolutely would not budge. Thanks for absolutely ruining our vacation. It may not be enough to hurt you as a company, but I can assure you that I will never utilize you again and neither will anyone that I am affiliated with.... and oddly enough that turns out to be over a couple hundred stays a year that we collectively utilize since I work for a traveling company. read more

Judging from the past reviews from 2 years ago, they must have taken something to heart and improved. I booked an Express Deal through Priceline (which in itself ended up being a bad experience -- but that's another story). Service was very nice and the highlight of the hotel. Felicia at the front desk is wonderful. Taylor is also very sweet and Bill is very helpful. I had no issue with the Wifi in the room. Breakfast was small. but good. The only thing was the room. It smelled slightly like mildew and was damp the entire time. The room itself was damp, which was odd. And I know it wasn't just me -- I had clothes wet from the beach that wouldn't dry even if left out over night next to the AC! The room, even if the AC was off, stayed pretty cold as well. Beds were nice though, and we had a microwave and microfridge. Overall, pleasant experience. read more

My daughter booked a room at Quality Inn in Foley AL online. When she got there they told her she had to be 21 and that it states this in the fine print. They are going to charge her a cancelation fee of almost $200.00. She didn't cancel. She was there! Now my 20 year old daughter is in Alabama with half of her money gone.
