The hotel is centrally located to the Main Street in Mariposa. Easy walking to eat and shop. Our room was clean, cool(very hot outside) and ready at check-in time. The young man who checked us in is friendly and very polite. There is plenty of parking. The hotel itself is oily decorated, the beds comfortable and had plenty of towels. We ate at Castillo's directly across the street and The Pizza Factory and had tasty meals and drink. Sticks Coffee for breakfast and an interesting bar, The Hideout. Again, our room was close to all of these places. We will most definitely stay again on our next visit. read more

This place is lovely if you like vintage furniture and old time feel, big problem though don't try to get the hotel to help you in any way and don't request anything because there is no one to help you!! The office has an eternal sign stating that no is there to help you and have a number that you are supposed to call but no one ever answers and prompts you to leave a message to the wind because no body ever responds. we like this location, large room, balcony and central to everything. we have stayed a couple of times. The sheets smell clean and I appreciate the tv control instructions and the firplace is a bonus. Housekeeping needs to do a better job, this wasn't an issue before. This stay we did not have any soap, shampoo or conditioner in the room. I looked in the bathroom cabinets for soap and found someones dirty clothes. the room smelled like food when we came in so we opened up the slider doors and noticed the sink had orange grease from food in it so we cleaned that up. the kitchen floor had onion peels under the island and particles of other things and the trash cans had old spills around them. Returned to the 5th Street Inn in short order, just a little over a month after our first visit. This time I was flying solo and stayed in Room 205, aka "The Retreat." Another lovely and spacious option, including comfy king bed, sweet jacuzzi tub, twin sinks, separate shower and small table and chairs for two. A fabulous option for a romantic getaway and quite private with its own entrance on the backside of the Inn. The owner, Randy, was super responsive when I left a message about needing to change my reservation. Really appreciate his quick and friendly service. Nick also provided friendly and swift assistance at check-in. Pretty sure this is going to be my go-to place to stay whenever I head back to my beloved hometown. It's so conveniently located in downtown Mariposa, close walking distance to much this charming town has to offer! read more

Cute room with jet tub, didnt use jets but nice to soak. Cute back entrance but hard to see to put code in door so maybe a light closer to the door? Heater makes a lot of noise cuz of door seal but otherwise it was a great find to visit family in mariposa. Cute little Inn in Mariposa. The room smelled of cleaning products when I first got there and had to be aired out. I wish there was a way to do that without throwing my doors wide open for bugs to come in. The room seems updated and the bathroom very clean but weird that the shower curtain was in 2 pieces? I think they were window curtains instead... I didn't deal with the check in/checkout, my niece did and she was confused. Parked in front 1st because she thought she was told to park there before someone else took the spot but then was told she actually needed to park in the back...? It worked better for us anyways because the back had a ramp up to the 2nd floor and we didn't have to take our luggage up the stairs. I'd definitely stay here again. Also, please note that there is a container of rags that aren't their fancy spa towels for more dirty type things you want to do. read more

What a find! This inn is within a 100 feet maybe less to downtown Mariposa. The check in was friendly with our host Issac and room 206 was simple, clean and everything you needed down to the smallest detail. They even had water and soda in the refrigerator under the honor system. Good free WiFi & plenty of everything needed for your stay. Coffee & tea is in the room too. We stayed in February so it could get chilly at night but temperature control is great. This is a small family run inn: probably under 12 rooms. Parking is right outside your door or close if your room is on second floor. No free breakfast here but at the very reasonable rate and local restaurants steps away no big deal at all. No lobby as you check in as it is by phone at the inn and a greeter (Isaac) comes to a window to assist you. Need recommendations for places to eat, go to or see locally Isaac was very helpful. I cannot think of one thing that I have an issue with for a downtown historic place to call home while you visit the area. read more

The room was clean and comfortable, complete with coffee maker, refrigerator with a freezer and a nice size bathroom. The staff was very helpful and courteous. This was the perfect unexpected find to a hectic weekend! Due to the severe blizzard storm warnings my boyfriend and I were unable to get into Yosemite Valley where we had reservations for the Fire Fall and Yosemite Valley Lodge. We had been looking forward to this weekend for such a long time and we were determined to make the most of it. After spending half the day trying to find somewhere to eat that was actually open and had internet service we happened to find this place. Although the staff was not onsite (due to the weather) they made it so that people could still call in and make a reservation. Randy was quick to respond and was thankfully able to accommodate us last minute. The whole process was quick and easy to do over the phone. Additionally Randy made us feel very welcomed. We stayed in Room 207 which was super cute, cozy, and very clean. We would definitely come back again! read more

Clean, comfortable, easy check-in. Very nice stay in the small town of Mariposa, just over an hour outside both the SR 120 and SR 41 gates to Yosemite (note: time is with no long lines driving into park during "shoulder month" of October). We stayed in Room 200, which judging from past Yelp photos was recently refreshed, maybe within the past year. Very good size fridge with icebox, plus microwave, coffee maker, and satellite TV. No breakfast, but compared to nearby hotel chains with 'free' breakfast, we saved a lot of $$ per night. Walkable within a couple blocks to Cinnamon Roll Bakery/Cafe (our go-to easy coffee/breakfast spot, and yes, namesake roll was delicious) and multiple other restaurants. With the in-room fridge, we were able to bring our own food / utensils and make sandwiches before heading into the Park. Highly recommended for an easy stay outside Yosemite. One note - no fee to reserve in advance on inn's website, but entire stay is payable at check-in. Made check out very seamless. read more

The place to be if you need a good nights rest before heading into Yosemite to camp! A group of friends and I did just that this last week before heading into the NP and we could not be more happy with our stay - first the staff - now a days it's hard to find good workers who will provide great service with a smile and the team at 5th did exactly that- from a pre arrival phone call where the person was so kind - to checking in. Also my wife left her kindle and after our 3 days in the NP the hotel was able to get it back to us! The person even called everyone who worked the day we check out to make sure we could get it back 10/10 customer service. The room it's self was very clean and just a great design and size for our big group - everyone was able to sleep nicely and the sheets and towels were very nice quality. You know big hotels are starting to get way too expensive , they are not as Fridley anymore and honestly not worth the money - but the 5th street inn was a breath of fresh air. We will always stay here when we can when coming up to Yosemite and I highly recommend you to do the same - thank you 5th street in for a great stay!! read more

We stayed here after a Halloween party at a friend's place, so we didn't have to drive all the way home. And I'm SO glad we did. The owner (?) called us to let us know the contactless procedures for checking in, then text all the information and it made it flawless. The room was super clean and comfy. You could hear people in the morning, but that's normal for a little place like this, and it wasn't anything crazy. It's in the perfect part of town, you can walk anywhere you need to. Me and a buddy decided to go off season to the land of the beautiful - Yosemite! Going in Feb has certain advantages - low low prices. I saw the 5th Street Inn on Eye of the Bay and Liam checked out this place and super low rates were available. WE showed up right after president's weekend so there weren't many people around. The Inn gave us an upgrade into the Juniper Room which has a kitchenette, 2 queen size beds, and a sofa to watch TV - WOW, at their lowest possible rate - $49.00 !! yes, you heard me right, this was nicer than most hotels at 1/3rd the price. Mariposa is a sweet and quaint little town. The local beer tavern (that's all they sell is beer) was on vacation as was a couple restaurants, but the Miner Bar was open - people were friendly and they made good cocktails - reminds me I gotta head over there and write a review. If you're going to Yosemite this is the place! It's close to everything you need and the lodging (unless your camping) in Yosemite is much less than you would expect. Check it aut. read more

If you're adventuring in Yosemite, you should just stay here. First of all, it's the cutest house in a town full of cute houses. White and pink! The family that runs it are more than welcoming and accommodating. I spoke to Randy and his son Isaac and they are both the cutest. We stayed in room 200 and it was super clean and cozy, with a modern interior (which is not very common around here). Don't go by their website, because I think they are using old photographs (I posted a picture, if you're curious). Isaac actually told me that they bought the hotel 8 years ago and renovated it, which you can really tell. I am really picky when it comes to hotels and could never sleep in a room that seems unclean or otherwise dodgy and I would GLADLY stay here forever. We are so glad we stumbled upon this gem of an inn! After a very expensive and disappointing stay at the Yosemite Lodge the 5th street Inn was AMAZING. Randy was very responsive and had our room ready way before the 4pm check in time which was very nice. The beds and linens were so cozy and comfortable, water pressure was great and towels were fluffy. We had a little trouble with the heating unit but Randy was very responsive and walked us through it and it worked itself out but he was willing to move us to another room if we wanted and was very apologetic about the inconvenience, which was not his fault. The only inconvenience was the bar/restaurant across the street that was a little loud after 10pm on a Monday, which was surprising but by 11it was pretty quiet. Check in was contactless from start to finish too. I'll definitely be back!! read more

Super clean, towels are new, mattress is really comfortable, TV, AC, heat, hot water, eater pressure all excellent during my stays. I traveled with my family of seven to Mariposa for 2 nights for the Fair and Demolition Derby. Check-in is at 3:00 daily. We got two rooms so we wouldn't be cramped. My siblings and I stayed in a room that had two queen beds and a sofa bed. There was a mini kitchen (fridge, microwave, coffee maker, sink, dining table) which I was not expecting. They leave some sodas and waters in the fridge and only charge $1 for each based on an honor system, put the money in a cup located in the fridge. We had to move to a different room for the second night since ours was to be taken by another visitor. The staff offered to even move out baggage for us when our room was ready. The second room was a little bigger than the first one we had and just as nice. The suite my parents' stayed in took our breath away. It was big enough to be a studio apartment. There was a king size bed, fully stocked kitchen, fireplace, dining area, lounge area, huge bathroom and a nice large balcony. There was plenty of room for all of us to gather and play games or hang out. We utilized the kitchen for breakfast each morning, and it worked perfect for us. The hotel is located a couple doors up from the main street with all the shops. Walking distance to most places. It really felt like a home away from home. We had no problems with anything the entire weekend. I ended up leaving my camera in the hotel and didn't realize it until we were hours away. I called them up and told me they had it and offered to mail it to me (which I graciously accepted). This hotel is ran by nice honest people. Two big thumbs up for our host Isaac for being so helpful and accommodating. Have any questions about the town, ask him! My overall experience was one of the best that I've ever had in a hotel. The rooms were absolutely beautiful, the staff was wonderful, and the location is very convenient. Room Tip: if you're looking for a home away from home, room 208 is a great suite. read more

About an hour drive to Yosemite Valley and an hour drive to Mariposa Grove. Walking distance to coffee and food and just such a cute town. Parking was provided as well. I'm rating this on wheelchair accessibility. The hotel is located on the side of a hill, and the handicap room is located down the hill from the office. The sidewalk is steep and sideways. The entrance to the room is up a VERY steep hill. Once inside, it's great (other than the stains on the mattresses - see picture), but getting out and about on your own from the room is nearly impossible. Only stay here if you have someone to help, even if you use a power wheelchair. Staff & owner, however, are very friendly. read more

Great Place to stay when visiting Yosemite. The location is in the heart of the city. Location is walking distance to restaurants and other attractions. The husband and wife that run the place are always accessible. They were great to deal with, and very friendly. We wish the Internet was a little bit better. We only stayed for a night, and had experienced intermittent connection. It very well could have been an issue with the provider rather than the inn. We took a quick trip to Mariposa, and were lucky enough to have randomly chosen to stay at the Fifth Street Inn. What a great place! It's right in the middle of town, within walking distance of plenty of cute shops and restaurants. And our room was ginormous! Staff was very friendly, but you get your room over the phone, with a door code... No front desk. Stayed here for one night between visiting Yosemite Valley. Would definitely recommend. The suite was clean, bed was comfortable, and the bathroom felt luxurious. It's a family-owned/operated inn and I appreciate their hospitality and thoughtful touches. The suite even had a black towel designated for make-up removal and a plastic box of wash cloths to be used as cleaning rags (if we needed to clean anything, for example.
