I had a stamp design in mind and brought it into the store to see if they could replicate it. Even better, they were able to offer a self inking option so I wouldn't have to deal with having a separate ink pad (which would have been the only choice if I would've bought it online). I love places like this. It's a small shop, run by one person. The Yelp reviews led me in. I wanted to get a special custom stamp, so I showed Kim what I wanted. He gave me a price, which was very fair, and I put in the order. He told me when it would be ready, and called me when it came in. I wasn't in a big hurry so I went in, paid and picked it up a few days later. It turned out exactly as I wanted it. Any future rubber stamp orders I have will be with quality. For wedding invitations and the like, I designed a custom monogram for a stamp...but where to go to get one made? Etsy has a billion shops that make custom stamps, but you don't get to see the stamp before its sent off of course. Found this little shop and it was perfect! Kim helped me out during the entire process and he's been great. I called to see what I would need to do and he told me to just email a pdf for him. There was a bit of miscommunication but then when we cleared that up he made the stamp in under 3 hours. Gave me a call to let me know and I was on my way in. This is one of those little shops that you can literally pass by without even seeing. Small storefront set in the middle of a bunch of other small storefronts. Nothing fancy at all, just a counter and stamp pads and custom stamps lying around. Cute little doggy lying round the other side of the counter too. Kim got the stamp, let me try it out and it was perfect! Exactly like my monogram! I had made really thin lines in it and those came out pretty well. He then helped me match a color that I wanted for the stamp, and voila! He made me a ink pad with the perfect match! The stamp itself had a nice big wooden handle, so I can use this thing 100 times in a row without trouble (at least I hope). The stamp itself was around $20, the ink pad $7, but if its for a wedding they give 20% off. How nice! So if you need a custom stamp for anything, come here! Mr Kim took my order immediately, worked with me to get exactly what I wanted, and had it done in time! Quality Rubber Stamps is located in the heart of Santa Monica across from the new and modern Santa Monica Library, and among all the new multi-purpose buildings that line Santa Monica Blvd. It's easy to miss. If you are a Notary Public looking for the old fashioned wooden mallet rubber stamp, then this is the place to go, sure they make the self inking plastic gizmos here too, but the NNA/National Notary Association no longer offers the wooden mallets that make a clear impression every time. The only thing I noticed though was that part of one letter was cut off just a little but I didn't have time to bring it back to be fixed, so we just let it be. Their hours are 9am - 5:30pm, so if you're a working American like most of us, it's difficult to get there to pick up your stamp during the week. The owner and I had some miscommunication regarding when/where to pick up the stamp after hours, which caused my wedding invitations to go out later than anticipated. However, Kim (owner) was very apologetic and accommodating to help reconcile the situation.
