I had a really pleasant stay @ this hotel. The decor gave the whole place a welcoming & relaxing vibe. Everything was very clean, which is always a huge plus for me & it made the stay feel even more comfortable. One thing I really appreciated was how quiet it was(perfect for getting a good night's rest). Speaking of rest, the beds were super comfortable & I slept gr8 the entire time. The only downside was that the pool was closed which was a bit disappointing since I was looking forward to using it. Aside from that, though, everything else about the stay was wonderful. Quality Suites in Stratford, CT was extremely rude to me. Because I had already made a payment through Sam's Club, they did not feel the need to accommodate any needs I may have at all. The gentleman who registered to me was extremely gruff. I took time out of my day to instruct him on a better way to speak to his customer. The gentleman was of Southeast Asian descent and I understood that his ability to speak in a polite and gracious manner is shunted. He actually dismissed my reservation and said, "I should take it up with the vendor to whom I had made the payment." This vendor has its guests sign a document of all the rules that could incur extra charges for the room. However, they do not provide a release form at check-out. We stopped here for our break on a long road trip and although it was not in any way impressive, it also wasn't awful. Pricing was fair and our room was clean, which were our top two priorities. It was also nice that it included a decent breakfast so we could get back on the road without additional stops. Customer service checking in was okay - definitely not welcoming and the lobby is quite funky and outdated, but we didn't come to spend time hanging in there. Beds were comfy. Felt like I entered The Jetsons living room(80's cartoon) with its modern bright eccentric vibe . Since when would I even think of taking a selfie in a living room,lol. The check- in process was a breeze, and unfortunately, the pool was closed for maintenance, but I wish i knew before I got there I was looking for a nice swim alone . I had a problem with their $100 fee upfront to "hold" in case something occurs in my room . This is not a high-quality hotel to be asking such a fee. Whomever put this in place is wrong . Some families need to stay in cheaper hotels and adding a charge like that is hard and absurd. What if I didn't have that on my card ,but my room was paid for ? I don't smoke and already seen a sign for another 250 fee if you do . I couldn't get myself dinner last night ,because I took one card with me and the $100 was for me to use for that. The rooms were decent with plenty of space to walk around . The bed was decent with extra pillows being my favorite. I would have to ask the front desk for more at other hotels . Playing around with the heater you will find a temperature that suits you. It was too hot then too cold for me at first til I played with it . Stayed for two nights recently with my two small kids. The room was clean and staff was helpful. My one gripe is that walls are paper thin so if you have noisy neighbors you WILL hear them. Breakfast was decent. There were scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, muffins, bagels, coffee, donuts, bagels and cereal. Overall it was a good place to stay and I'd stay here again and hope my neighbors are quieter. read more

This place was a NIGHTMARE Experience !!! VERY Horrible! This is based off of my experience and I hope and pray that my review helps you. I booked a 3 night stay here with my wife. The Overnight Front desk employee named "Sid" is very creepy, rude and made my wife and I feel very uncomfortable. I booked a 3 night stay and on the very first hour after checking in, I Found this man standing in front of my hotel room door as if he was spying on us. That guy is a creep. The Employee then charged me $150 fee without my permission or approval for claims of smoking. This employee would then force his way inside our room while my wife was getting dressed. That guy is a creep. I did not Authorize or approve this charge or unlawful entry and I did not feel safe there. I would not recommend this property to anyone I don't care how cheap or affordable it is. The whole time this employee would be smiling and laughing like it is a big joke. I was able to speak to the Assistant manager the next morning and he also seem like this is typical behavior for them. Filthy and noisy. We arrived and were given a room with a broken mirror. The girl at the front desk gives us a new room. This room had blood stained walls, scotch tape holding up the wallpaper, a stained comforter, a broken window, and a loose bathtub. I can't blame the hotel for their clientele, but it seemed many were there to visit family at a nearby prison. They were loud, dirty, and inconsiderate. I enjoyed a very comfortable stay here. They really treated me like I was a guest. Everything from the check-in was easy and smooth. After checking in the front desk representative wished me good luck on my interview the following day. She gave me a quiet room even before I requested it. Upon entering there was a small ante-room with a desk and chair as well as a sofa and coffee table. The bathroom was large as well and contained all the necessary toiletries and plenty of plush towels. The water pressure in the shower was great and the temperature was easy to control. The room itself was very large and comfortable. There was a huge king-size bed, refrigerator, TV, microwave, closet with iron and sufficient hangers. After a good night's rest I went to the complementary breakfast. There were fresh bagels, English muffins, pastries and bread. There were also "make yourself" waffles, eggs, bacon, cereal, milk, coffee, and juices. The hotel offered a complementary shuttle to the hospital where I interviewed. The driver was punctual and very helpful. When I called for the return shuttle he arrived promptly. When I returned to pick up my checked luggage the front desk staff member remembered me and found it for me immediately. Overall I was very comfortable here, paid a reasonable price, and was treated like family. I would definitely choose Quality Suites again for my next visit to Stratford, Connecticut. read more

This is an awful hotel. My exoetience is for people who cash their rooms are inspected before you leave. I had 2 reservation 1 for one night and the other fot 3 nights. I was disturbed at 10am to have thrpe room checked because I have a inspection. The inspection pursued and was accused of smoking in a non smo,ing room when there no physical evidence of such. In addition the asian younglady who was doing the inspection open the bathroom door when my son was in the shower to do an inspection. All before my next reservation to be accepted. The hotel stole my 100 dollars cash based on their noses not upon sight and invaded my privacy by clming to inspect a room without notice and barging in a bathroom with a paid customer in the shower. This place is so gross. First off, you walk in the lobby and it wreaks of pot. Then the have the nerve to say if you're caught smoking in the rooms they'll charge a hefty fee. That's actually pretty funny. I guess marijuana is ok just not cigarettes. The lobby is the only place that looks ok. Beds are so hard. The rest is just falling apart, filthy, old and dreary. Chose this particular hotel because of the amenities and location. This vacation stay was our yearly family reunion. Arrived at the hotel and informed that there was no pool service available. The main reason for choosing this hotel was for the amenities for the children and the location site was perfect for the family reunion. When informed that there was no pool, I asked if there would be a compensation in price because we did not know that there was no pool service nor was I informed at the time of reserving the three suites. No notification was given through the booking agent that there was no pool service at this hotel, nor when I called Quality Suites directly to do comparative pricing. The Owner/Manager Mr. Patel informed me that there was a notification about the closing of the pool on the last page of the website (I looked at the website and showed him at the time the statement was made, that there was no notice and on the website of the booking agent) and he would not compensate my family and I for the pool being out of service. He then suggested that I could cancel our reservation. I was truly insulted as to his lack of customer service and suggesting a cancellation when we were coming from New York on a busy summer weekend and all surrounding hotels were booked. Unfortunately, my family and I had no choice to stay because there was no availability elsewhere. Also to add insult to injury, I was given a room that had a notable smell of the sewer backing up from the bathroom sink. I did not inform the front desk due to the response I received about the pool not being available. So, I chalked it up as a bad experience, endured the weekend stay, vowed that I would never patronize this hotel and inform my friends and family to do the same. Not a good experience at all!!! When we arrived at check-in, we were hit with a fine print $100 "cleaning fee" hold on our credit card in case we smoked in the room. We don't smoke and said so. There were signs posted at check-in to wear masks, but none of the staff was wearing them. The cleaning woman in the lobby was speaking so loudly that we could not hear the receptionist at one point. The room was clean enough, but the hard surface furniture was old and dated. The ventilation in the bathroom did not seem to work. One of the picture frames was broken at one corner and the tape that was supposed to be holding it together had pulled away. Around 8pm when we were in our bed clothes watching TV, someone knocked loudly on the door. One of the two women from the reception desk was at the door and asked "are you smoking?", and when we said "no", she stared at us like she didn't believe us. When we invited her to step inside to see for herself she continued to stare but then left. About an hour later, we could hear guests in the next room loudly arguing and crying. The walls are so thin it sounded like the trucks from I95 were driving through our room all night long. Because we suspected we were going to be scammed out of our "hold", in the morning we asked the person on duty at reception to come to the room and verify we had not smoked. After a bit of a run around, he did appear and agreed he could NOT smell smoke. At check-out, when we requested an itemized receipt showing the refund of the "hold", we were told we would receive it but it would be emailed to us later because he supposedly did not have system access until after 8am. We never got the invoice. I had to message the property via Booking.com. I finally got a reply indicating the hold was lifted. I will monitor my credit card statement for any future activity from this facility. read more

I am not usually a fan of the Choice Brand Hotels chain -- you know the one -- Econo Lodge, Quality Hotel, Clarion, etc., so when my company recently made me reservations here, I too had reservations about staying here . . . but I had never stayed at the their "suites" hotel before, so I figured that I'd give it a shot. Although I did not get to stay at the hotel very long (only had time for little more than a nap), but I walked into the hotel lobby and liked how it was layed out. then I got up to the room and it really surprised me -- it was spacious (very spacious), the bed was huge and comfortable. In the morning, I had just enough time to grab some quick breakfast and got on the road, but I was wanting to stay longer. Looking forward to stay at this level of the Choice Brand Hotels again some time soon. read more

This hotel over all isn't bad, great location next to 95. Our room was clean and smelled good. It did smell like smoke in the halls but that could be cause someone was just there who smoked outside. Didn't bother me. I wish the pool was a bit bigger and they hot a hot tub but over all not bad for the price I paid on a weekend! Theory: After reading Jeffrey K.'s review of this particular hotel, I figured the place would suffice for one night while in CT for business. Observations: Although the staff members were friendly and the bed was indeed comfortable, I really couldn't wait to check out and go on with my life. The property had a depressed feel that I couldn't shake. The location was unfortunate (just off a major highway), and the sterile-looking bathroom, reminiscent of those in nursing homes, was replete with stiff towels that smelled too strongly of bleach. Found this place on hotels.com looking for a cheap hotel to stay in connecticut for a few days. I got a groupon for a glass blowing class in Fairfield, so thought i'd make a trip out of it! This hotel is pretty nice. It's nice and clean and they are very welcoming. The lady informed us that the room we had booked was a handicapped and offered to switch to a normal room, but we didn't think it would be a problem. The room was nice and roomy. There were a bunch of marks on the walls and some broken items. There was a walk in shower, so showering was a little hard. The shower head wouldn't stay up so while showering had to soap with one hand, and hold the head up with the other. Free breakfast in the morning! As most hotels, they served the usual drinks. Coffee, tea, orange and apple juice, water. They had a waffle iron (always my favorite), pancakes, bread, bagels, and apples. It was satisfying. The bed was very comfortable. The pillows were weird. They were mini sized and feather pillows so after a second night, our necks were hurting. Overall, this is a good hotel to stay at if you are not looking for anything crazy special. read more

Thoroughly grossed out and skin crawling I made TWO calls to the front desk resulted in no changes to room or any other action. Recently spent three nights here. The walls are paper-thin and we could hear snoring in the neighboring rooms every single night (but I'm glad someone was getting a good night's rest). The beds were relatively comfy, but the carpet in the room was nasty - there was something sticky and disgusting on the floor. It was hot outside and the air conditioner barely kept the room cool - and there was no setting on the air conditioner that would allow the fan to run continuously (to block out the sound of the neighbor's snoring). Good value for the money. Spacious, clean and new for the price of a freeway trucker motel. The large bed was super comfortable, with nicer linens that usual for this price range. The staff helpful with an item left behind. The pool was closed on our visit. The mini fridge was a plus. What a HORRIBLE experience!!!! We have family coming in from Portugal and all over the United States for our wedding this September.. STAY AWAY from this location!!! I have been trying to reach the property manager at this location for two weeks. I've been calling twice a day every day because I wanted to book a bulk amount of rooms for my wedding this fall. Every time I call I have been told hes not here, call before 4:00 pm but don't call after 4:00 pm because you will miss him. The manager has yet to return any phone calls. Today I was in the area and thought Ill just stop by and see if I can connect with him in person. Upon walking in the vestibule the smell of cigarettes and marijuana was over powering but I don't pass judgement. When I approached the desk to talk with the check in staff there was a larger woman literally sitting on the top of the counter. Just to paint a picture I am 5"8 and the counter top would have been chest level to me. This woman was literally sitting on the counter just hanging out and talking with the staff.. dropping the F bomb and talking about "4:20"....I introduced myself and asked to speak with the manager directly about booking rooms for my wedding I was told "hes not here, hes in and out all day long". I explained that I had been calling every day for two weeks and have not had any response, the staff offered me to sit and wait, but "I don't know when he will be back".. Like I'm just supposed to sit and kick it with her friend and wait for the property manager to return????? Seriously??? We have been Choice Members and only use Choice for our choice of hotels when we travel, and have never experienced anything like this. I have called the Choice customer service Corporate number to make a report and they were absolutely no help whatsoever. Moving forward I have taken my business elsewhere.. read more

My room looked clean. Ac was off when we arrived even though temperatures outside was 95 degrees. Turned on the ac and it leaked all over the floor. The tv was not working. Wallpaper is pealing off the walls. The toilet is loose from the floor and the shower faucet and water handle is one inch away from the wall. And the exoust fan did not work. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was hot. Easy access to highway. Not worth the price for a room per night. read more

We stayed 3 nights. Room appearance was okay, but a musky-stale odor was noticeable upon first entering. Breakfast was surprisingly good. We had problems getting the door key card to work which caused us to return to front desk numerous times for key re-coding. A fire alarm prank in the middle of the night sent all the guests out of the building at 1:15am until fire dept. could check things out. The elevator's 1st fl. selection button had been tampered with during our stay, so we had to take our luggage down the steps. At checkout, we were told there would be some compensation for our inconvenience, but nothing so far. Can not recommend staying here at this time. read more

I saw the bad reviews that this had and was very wary of staying here with my family but since I saw that the most recent reviews were very good, we decided to take a chance since the price was good too ($96 before taxes). I'm glad I took the chance in staying here. The room was very clean and big. Two queen beds, and a couch, microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker, and tv (with HBO). The continental breakfast was very good and I forgot to take a picture cause now I see no one has posted one. You can make your own waffle :) when we arrived, there were two Indian gentlemen (I specify race cause I don't remember their names unfortunately) they gave us EXCEPTIONAL customer service and they were the ones that told us about the make-your-own-waffle in the continental breakfast. Did I mention that the room was very spacious? I had the playpen for the baby out, luggage out, baby bag, coats all over the place and the baby's car seat and it wasn't cramped at all. We only stayed one night but if it was for a longer time, I would've enjoyed it. read more

I spent over eight weeks in this hotel for work and I would not recommend it to anyone. The rooms were dirty and there was a problem nearly every time that I checked in. I would travel home on the weekends and I was put in a different room every time that I went down for a new week (which was fine). With that being said, I can assure you that the problems that I encountered did not simply exist in one room. I experienced a clogged shower drain, a shower where I couldn't get hot water, stained carpets in the rooms, dirty bathrooms, holes in the wall, a broken elevator and reading lights that didn't function. In addition, I was traveling for business and the wireless internet service here was horrible. There were nights when I couldn't get online and other nights where I had to walk to the lobby area to get a wireless signal. There are some other hotel options on Lordship Boulevard. If you do have to stay here, make sure that you ask for a room on the opposite side of the highway. The hotel is right next to I-95 and if your room is on that side of the hotel, it is very loud. The other drawback is that all of the rooms on the parking lot side of the hotel (opposite the highway) are double beds. It's worth the sacrifice of a king size bed to have a quiet room. read more
