I really don't like giving bad reviews but in this case, I don't mind. I have had a massive knocking/wobbling in the front end of my car for a while now- mostly on the driver's side. I brought it in to QualTech because they have stellar reviews. They lifted it and came back with a $600 quote to replace the brakes. They didn't even bother to test drive it. I asked if the brakes can make that kind of knocking/wobbling and how much life is left in them, since I hadn't heard any squeaking whatsoever. The dude said "oh you've got like 60% left on them!" "Ok. So how long can I drive like this because I don't know if I can do $600 right now..." The dude: "oh you've got like 6 months left!" So I drive away thinking maybe I was worrying for no reason and that I didn't know as much as I thought I did about cars. I don't know much, tbh, but I know that brakes don't typically cause your car to death wobble. Basically it boils down to this: these guys were going to charge me $600 for something I didn't need and I would have driven 60mph down 2222, I completely would have gone off the road and probably died. So I took it to a place who actually found the problem and strongly advised that I don't drive it until it's fixed. Bye, Felicia. read more

Great experience today with QualTech. Quick response to a quote request and price was better than competitive. Got me in for repairs same morning and committed to finishing before end of day even though they were swamped. Called early afternoon with some optional repairs to add and explained pros/cons coherently so I could make the right decision based upon how long I intend to keep the car. I can't say enough great things about Terry and Qualtech! My mom had a car with over 100k miles and Terry helped her find the most cost-effective fixes so she could keep it an extra two years. For one fix, he saved her over $1,000. On more than one occasion, he did small fixes without even charging her. He also allowed her to come by after hours once when her window wouldn't go up. These people just want to upsell you parts that don't need to be changed. Even if they were recently changed, they'll "recommend" it to be changed without confirming. Probably driven by commission. Which just means more money out of your already-stretched-thin pocket. What happened to honest mechanics that just fix the issue? This poor industry gets a bad rap for people like this. There are honest mechanics out there, but they don't work here. Should you come to these predators, ask them why you need their "recommended" parts and ask for for proof of the parts they took out. read more

These guys took great care of me. The sign of a great business is not how they act when everything goes easy and according to plan, but instead how they act when things go sideways and difficult. This is my go-to auto shop ever since we moved to Bee Caves. It's just a couple of miles from our house. We started going there for state inspections and the service was awesome with minimal wait time(walk-in). You can always book an appointment prior to arrival on their website or by phone. We regularly take our cars for oil change and air filter change. The quotes are reasonable and services are efficient. Highly recommend this place ! read more

I can't say enough about this place! My husband, 17month old, our two dogs and I broke down near QTA on Christmas Eve. We were about an 1.5hrs from my parents' home in the Hill Country and were desperate. I walked along 71 hoping that someone would be open at 8am on Christmas Eve and, sure enough, QTA was! When I walked in and explained the situation they immediately volunteered to grab oil and drive me back to our car in their company vehicle. Once we were able to drive our car back they looked at the car, explained to us the way in which our recent oil change in Houston was botched, made the necessary repairs, spoke to the manager of the shop in Houston all the while allowing my 2 dogs and my toddler to run around the lobby area. Terry, the manager, and his employees explained everything to us along the way. He offered ongoing help and advice as we now navigate the repair negotiation process with the shop in Houston and to top it all off -- THEY DIDN'T CHARGE US! I can't tell you what a blessing it was to have QTA when we needed them most and I feel a large sense of indebtedness to them for taking such great care of us. I cannot stress enough how good QualTech is. I have been taking my cars to Curtis since the north location was still Kurt's Automotive. I was extremely pleased to find that Curtis stayed on as the floor manager as I can trust him to the end of the earth. Despite the fact the he is now exclusively at the Bee Cave location I can attest that the service up north is still just as good. What makes their service great? They never try to sell repairs you don't need, and the service they do is quick, affordable and, best of all, done right every time. After driving cross country in my 2007 prius the wheel bearing was shot on one of the sides. they replaced it and the price was fair and fast. Fast-forward one year, the wheel bearing is shot again, I took it to my local shop in New York and they diagnosed, I called Qual Tech and they said, "the part has a 3 year 36k mile warranty, call the number at the bottom of the receipt and they will work it out. Sure enough, QualTech partners with a great distributor who replaced the part up here in New York with no charge for parts or labor - I was astonished! I've never had something this easy and seemless work out for what would have been a 650$ fix. Not only are these guys great, but they partner with great suppliers so that you are always covered no matter where you are....I'm still in shock! read more
