This office is completely unprofessional and uncaring. Upon confirmation of my mom's appointment for cataract surgery, the hospital did not admit her because they said she was NOT on the list of surgeries. I phoned the office and had to leave a messages in which Dr. Menghani phoned back and told me not to let her leave or eat anything while he phone the scheduler. An hour later, no response so I phone again having to leave another message. This goes on for another 3 hours, my mom still at the hospital awaiting news on whether this surgery will happen. I leave 2 more messages but NO ONE replies! I furiously resigned, telling my mom to leave the hospital. I don't receive any news until the following afternoon with excuses that her insurance didn't allow the procedure there. It seems reasonable to me to think that if you're scheduling a patient for surgery wouldn't it behoove you to follow through with insurance outcomes and inform the patient? I refuse to let her go back to this office to be treated so poorly, my mom being elderly and wrought with anxiety. So very disappointing that she had to endure this kind of treatment! read more

I was having pain in my eye and needed to find an ophthalmologist. I was excited to find a doctor on Yelp with such rave reviews. I wanted to call to see if they had an appointment available for the same day, but there was something wrong with their phone system that made the conversation impossible. I tried calling from a land line. No good. They tried calling me back to see if we can get a better connection. No dice. Finally, we decided we'd give email communication a try. I managed to give them my email address. After 2 hours of waiting for an email, I finally called back and got the same girl I spoke to earlier that morning. She said they had since fixed their phone, but she never bothered to call or email me. I guess it didn't matter that I was in pain and that my call was urgent. According to her, they were too busy with patients to call or email me back. So I was like, "Ok. I understand that. Do you have an appointment available for today." The girl's response was, "Yeah, we DID...at 10:30." Mind you, she's telling me this at 10:45. How does that help me?? After further conversation about my insurance and such that seemed to go no where...I finally decided enough was enough. She wasn't rude or unprofessional. She just seemed to lack the eloquence that has been mentioned in the positive reviews I've read on this eye group. Finally, I politely told her, "You know what? If it's this hard to get an appointment with the doctor, I'll find another doctor. Thank you." For this experience, I gave the group 2 stars which is yelp for "Meh. Yesterday was my first visit to see Dr. Menghani and it was well worth the trip. His staff was friendly and helpful. Dr. Menghani is simply an amazing human being and a wonderful doctor. He explains everything and thoroughly answers all questions. He isn't stuffy, just a real guy doing an amazing job. I am so happy to finally find someone who is all about what is best for his patients not how to sell me expensive eye glasses that cost a fortune. Dr. Menghani is the ideal example of a professional physician. I found out he completed training at the Stein Eye Institute of UCLA. This is a cutting edge research and surgery center. His bedside manner is compassionate and supportive, and when you need to feel like you can trust your physician, especially a surgeon, Dr. Menghani is exactly who you need. I visited Dr. Menghani when my child had a sudden eye pain which was very concerning and Dr. Menghani was able to book us reasonably quickly and took care of the issue immediately. If I could give Dr. Menghani, 10 stars I would do that!!! He was spectacular in explaining the problem with my cataracts. I just had the second operation and it's so hard to believe how much brighter and clearer everything is!! He took very good care of me! When I had my first surgery in December, I was in a car accident a few weeks after. He called my son and asked if he could come to the hospital to check on my eye. Dr Menghani is the best eye doctor! He is a very kind and caring doctor! I never feel rushed when he meets with me, he is very thorough and wants to make sure you understand whatever is going on with your eyes. His staff is very efficient and nice. He does have a very busy office, but I do not mind waiting, as he spends quality time with you to ensure you know everything. Dr. Ravi was superb, very polite, knowledgeable, understanding and honest. He is a very busy doctor but super efficient. He is able to manage multiple patients, while still giving his full attention to each client. Office is very clean all around with new equipment. First time visit under emergency situation for my brother's eye had a piece of metal embedded & thanks to Angie was able to get in for the day within 3 hrs. (Ask for Angie to assist in emergency scheduling, the main receptionist had previously stated "Dr. Ravi is too busy for the day your best bet would be finding another doctor", I was disappointed, but thank God Angie saw my many previous missed calls and called me back. I wish that older receptionist wouldn't push new clients away b/c Dr. Ravi is great). I can't thank Angie and Dr. Ravi for helping us out at short notice. By the way for the other yelpers that worry about how old this place is, WHO CARES , you are there for the best medical care for your eyes not to sit in a fancy chair with a new TV, yes the seating area is crowded and there is a wait but SOO worth it to get the treatment Dr. Ravi offers. read more

Never has my experience been so out of sync with other reviewers. First, the office itself feels old and dated; if that's how the office presents, makes me concerned about the equipment. I arrived a little early for my appointment to get paperwork taken care of. 30+ minutes later, not a word from anyone. I returned to the front desk and was told there were a couple more people ahead of me. At that point, between how the office looked and was run, I decided to leave. If an office is that backed up, a quick call or text letting me know that is appreciated (I had received several other texts so they had my info). There's got to be a better option. read more

This review is for the office only. I never met the doctor so I can not review his expertise or knowledge. However, I do see the office as an extension of the doctor and his attitudes. I waited several weeks for an appointment and chose this Doctor based on a referral from my medical group. I also checked yelp and saw several favorable reviews. When I arrived I noticed that his sign in sheet is on a pad of regular lined paper, different I thought, but okay. As I looked around, this became part of a theme. I also noticed that the reception area; the part where his office assistants work is very bare bones and tight. I was asked to have a seat after making my co-pay. In the awkwardly placed waiting room were about 8 people (I was the 9th) stuffed, and I do mean stuffed, into a tiny room. Two more people were in what appeared to be an "overflow" section out side in the entry on padded folding chairs. I asked about the wait, the girl at the desk said about 30 minutes and that there were three people ahead of me. I sat there for about 15 to 20 minutes feeling claustrophobic and then decided I just could not bear it any more. I revisited the wait time with the girl and she admitted that it was going to be awhile so I asked for my check back and I left. My aim in writing this review (my first ever) is to provide for the doctor, the experience of his patients and the impression that his office environment presents. I regard being treated this way (over-crowded into a small space and made to wait a long time) to be evidence of 1. Lack of empathy for the patients on the part of the doctor and 2. A lack of respect for both his patients and staff. 3. Also reflected for me is poor management of appointment times/amount of appointments being made per hour (perhaps not scheduling so many would help with the space problem). I am very fortunate to be able to choose which ever doctor I see and I am choosing on these factors to choose someone else. read more

Seemed like a very caring doctor at first. My wife had a condition that needed a special X-ray, so we did it. When we spoke to the doctor about it being covered under insurance (insurance said it is not covered) and he agreed since it was more cosmetic, even thou it caused my wife a lot of discomfort. I get it, it's not his call on what's covered or not. However, he went from such a caring doctor who followed up with my wife on a regular basis to not even offering alternative solutions. He never called her again . Just never had any interest in working with her when he realized insurance would not cover it. read more
