A previous nail tech there told me Tom the owner would take their tips if you paid with card so I would recommend giving them cash once you are done with your service. I went there and Qui did my nails...very slow and not good. Didnt let powder get wet before putting on my nails which caused bubbles on my nails. I got my nails done as the first photo last Wednesday. I asked for grey/white ombre, marble and black glitter. The whole time Tammy kept telling me that the ombre never looks like it does in the photo and that the marble will look different too. She must've told me this atleast 10 times. I should've taken that as a clue that she didn't really know what she was doing and I wish id asked for something simpler. After she was done I made a comment about just never getting this style done again and she made multiple attempts to fix the ombre with no success. She said she wasnt going to charge me extra for the ombre since I didnt like it. When we got to the register she charged me any additional fee she could. In the week that I wore my nails this way I was asked on multiple occasions if I'd done them myself. Which to me spoke volumes on how mediocre they looked. Well after 8 days I couldn't stand looking at them anymore so I decided to go back in to have them redone. Henry is the tech who took care of me today and he did fantastic job. He was gentle getting the acrylics off and making sure my natural nail was left in a good state. He listened to what I wanted and gave me just that. I will be booking my nail appts with Henry from now on and trust in his ability to give me what Im looking for in nail design from simple to difficult. read more

Dropped in unexpectedly on this rainy Sunday afternoon. It was pretty slow, so they helped me right away. They talked me into a shellac manicure ($30), insisting that it is worth every penny for the look and how long it will last. I was glad they did because you can definitely tell that these look a little nicer than a regular polish mani. I was impressed with the customer service and how sweet my manicurist was. I didn't ask her name, but I'll try to find out next time! I wanted a simple look with a nude color to compliment wedding dress shopping this week, and she didn't try to sell me up in any way like some of the nail salons I've been to. This location is also convenient because I can send the family walking around nearby stores while they wait, and my manicurist was so fast that it was hardly 15 minutes for a tasteful job! I'll be back! I can't say I'll be driving across town since its in my neighborhood, but a few more visits with positive experiences and I just might up my rating with the last star. I have been very disappointed the last few times. Today I went in for an ombre manicure, deluxe spa pedicure, eyebrow and lip wax. Lynn did great on the wax, however, my mani and pedi are terrible. My nails look so thick and extremely white. My pedicure is horrible. Feet are not soft. I even mentioned it to the lady at the register and she said "that's not dry skin, that's lotion or something, it will come off when you wash your feet." A little too rough! I went in for a much needed pedicure and picked the $40 package . I always laugh when they file my feet because I have extremely ticklish feet! Anyways, everything was going great, the foot soak felt very soothing, I was there playing Candy Crush and enjoying my comp Sprite until he got the sandpaper out and started sanding down my heels and bottom and sides of feet. Ouch! I think he over sanded the the side of one of my feet because today I have a red sore patch on the side of my foot. :( . He also wrapped my legs in hot towels that were a little too hot! I still need to call and complain about my hurt foot but their English is not very good. So today I went into Quarry Nails Bar to get my nails done. No one greeted me at the door and the man at the front just looked at me kind of judgmentally and continued on with what he was doing. After I sat down with the man and showed him what I wanted, he got to work. He didn't ask how long I wanted them, which I usually get mine long because that's just my style, and he cut them very very short and a started to shape them into coffin style after I had told him I wanted stiletto. He then started to put on acrylic that wasn't the color I asked for, and then when he spilt some of it, he started saying "sh*t" and "f**k" right in front of me ! He then started to file that down with the electric file and then proceeded to cut all 10 of my fingers, causing 3 of them to bleed. After he finished he was looking at my fingers and putting cuticle oil on them, caused all my fingers to burn and completely over looking my 3 bleeding fingers and all the acrylic he left on my fingers and under my nails. After all this, I still had to pay $60 for the service !!! I am suppose to go meet and hang out with my boyfriends mom tomorrow for the first time and I am not very happy about having to see her with these. I have been going to this nail salon since 2005 and they never disappoint me. I live northside of San Antonio and I don't mind driving all the way over to the south for excellent service. I've gotten better service here than I have at any of the salons here on the northside. They are very clean, friendly and not pushy when it comes to up-sales.
