During these difficult times it can be scary going anywhere. After 3 months I was ready to get out and pamper myself a bit. I live close, so I decided to give this spa a try. I'm happy that I did. I called ahead for a same day appointment. I was greeted by everyone in masks and a man took my temperature. He then asked me to wash my hands. This made me very happy and gave me the added reassurance of safety I needed during this pandemic. I was then seated 6 feet apart from the other guests. For my pedicure I chose the lavender one. It was $39 with a discount for checking in on Yelp. The basic pedicure is $30 but I wanted to follow the golden rule of, Treat yo self. My feet were given the royal treatment. Lots of scrubbing, massaging and lotions. I was very thrilled at my techs care and precision. She was seated behind a plexiglas divider for added protection. Ultimately, I like this place for their pedicures. They take time to clean you cuticles in more detail than most places. If your in need of a pedicure for rejuvenation, this is the place for you. Update: the salon was very quick to respond to my review which I like. They made a great attempt to fix the problem. Tom is very accommodating and took pictures to discuss with the technician as the shop was closing. The attempt is great and I love a quick turnaround. Seriously need more business that at least TRY. So long story short: What I asked for: a pink French pedicure French gel refill on my hands that totaled $80. What I got: the pink French pedi (after some explaining and picture showing) and matching plain pink nails (no French and no accents but I was beyond explanations by this point) with a crooked thumbnail. The fix was only a refilling and re-polish of the thumbnail no discounts or comps for "next time" or a "do-over" offer for the next day. The take away: $80 plus tip, to not being able to get the look you want, is still an unhappy experience. This is the 3rd nail salon I've been to in San Antonio and the look is NOT justifying the expense. The four stars is for the salon itself, for Tom (owner) and their media manager. I have hope I'll find that perfect nail salon match for me through yelp reviews and save myself some time and money in the future. read more

Is was a pleasant experience and got in and services started in less than 5 minutes. They have a large drink selection, but best of all ice cold water. It was a clean space with about 10 pedicure chairs and 15 nail stations. Their color selection for shellac, dip, and regular polish is impressive. I appreciate that they have all the options on the nail samples so you can sit a choose rather than searching a wall of colors. I got the hot stone massage pedicure and was satisfied, yet it was a little pricey (50$). The shellac polish only ( no manicure or polish take off) was a bit excessive in price($25). Lily was great! Update: I was very happy with the service I received and my manicure still looks great. However, three days later the results of my pedicure is less than satisfactory. I expect a little discomfort after trimming and filing and scrubbing, but nothing remotely like the pain and discomfort I am experiencing. My toes are scabbed and infected to the point it makes it difficult to wear shoes and I can't even show off my pedicure because they look gross! I had been going to this place for a few months and decided to try somewhere new. It was then that I realized Jolly Nails is not a good place to go to. First off, whenever I would show a picture to give an example of what I wanted they would always say that it wouldn't look good and change it or that they didn't have what was needed to do that style and would do something else. The styles were never crazy, I usually do some form of French tip with a little glitter. I never complained and just went along with whatever they did. But, I now realize they were unnecessarily hurting me as well. Most of the time they would say I needed a new set and would ram a nail up into the acrylics I had on to remove them. It hurt. I just thought this was the only way they could do it. Now that I've gone to another place I realize that all they had to do was sand it down with the electronic sander thing and it was painless! All that pain for nothing! Also, the acrylic was sometimes too thick. Won't be going back again now that I've found a place that doesn't hurt me and actually listens to my requests. read more

I come in to get it fixed... now another one breaks... charging 40$ for a FILL just so I have to keep coming back to get them fixed. It is always hit or miss here. Three times I have gotten a dip manicure. 1st and last time were done by same guy and were terrible. This last time I noticed my finger was hurting. I came here earlier in the day to try a new place near my house saw that this place had 3 stars and thought I'd give it a shot. Wish I didn't when I walked in I needed to set up an account which is fine but I told the owner at the front office I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with my nails and she started typing on the screen for me without even talking to me. Then I go sit down for my pedicure and before we cuts my nails she goes straight to the lotion and scrub so while she is trying to push my cuticles ( without cuticle remover) there is lotion on my toe nails. I told them I wanted matching hands and feet and I was was back and forth about wanting dip or manicure so this part is on me but she handed me colors and I picked one and she said it was for dip and gel well it wasn't so I ended up getting a full set to save some money and told her again same color well I just got back home and saw my nails are two completely different colors. My double whammy adventure to good ol' Jolly Nails; Sooo it all started off when I went to Jolly's about 2 weeks ago to get my regular French Dip nails done. I was taken to one of the last seats (which usually isn't a good sign in the hierarchical seating that salons usually have) and was sat down by a woman who served me a nice dish of acetone. Now usually they wrap the tips in foil so that the whole hand doesn't dry out but they used a different method. Soon or later (but mostly later), a young man comes over with headphones in and starts on the nails. He didn't buff them out and there were apparent scratches on the bed of the nail when he started the dip. After a painful 15 minutes of watching him dip the nail in the white then the pink the results were in: The white tip of the nails were sloppy and the base he used was transparent, something I was unaware of until he finished up and you could see the scratches on the nail bed through the dip powder! I was quite upset and had him fix a few major things along the way, mistakes any good nail technician could have fixed or altogether avoided along the way. My saving grace came when the woman next to him saw what a mediocre job he was doing, so much so that when I reluctantly went up to pay (I had been there for nearly 2 hours at this point and thought it was hopeless) she told the woman at the front desk how unsatisfied I was. The woman at the front then offered to have Tom, the hierarchical first chair, fix it for me. I sat down and he asked me what was wrong, I pointed out flaws to which he fixed-but only a couple of the white tips, then told me that I needed a pink on the bottom, (his demeanor basically said, sorry your SOL until next time). After he finished he told me to come back next time and he would take care of me. (Well had that been the whole story this would have gotten a 4 stars because of the customer service aspect) HOWEVER; "taking care of someone" apparently means they would just do your nails next time and charge the same amount. Because that's exactly what happened. I walked in today and told the front desk worker (different lady) that I was coming in to get my nails done by Tom because he said the next time I came in he'd take care of me. So I sat down and proceeded with the acetone bath yet again and the woman who proctored it this time asked if I had gotten the manicure here, and if it was bad, and that Tom was going to fix it. I really thought we were all on the same page. A darker pink he chose and off we were. The manicure was satisfying, the white tips were a little off on a couple and not very even however everything was smooth, his attention to detail was exceptional and just overall 100% better than the guy before. The French itself is not what I would have usually received had I stuck with my usual place, but I stuck it out because well, Tom was going to take care of me (money-wise folks). We finished up the session, he dabbed some cuticle oil on me and turned to the front desk lady and said 50$. I think my jaw actually dropped. And I silently screamed a few curse words in my head. Seriously?! Seriously. (Well, I guess that was the biggest tip I ever paid on a free service.) Jolly, it's been real, but I'm never going back. read more

The first time I came here I loved how my nails came out. Tracy (I think that's her name... A younger woman whose English was very good) did a fantastic job. She literally dipped my nails into powder and then achieved an hombre style by tapping the brush and dropping powder onto my nails. She was quick and it was painless. The nails held up for over 2 weeks when I came back to get them redone as they grew out. The 2nd time I came in my experience was not so good. A man did my nails, presumably the owner. I asked him for powder dip and he did an application much different than Tracy. He applied the dip the exact way acrylic is applied. He filed the hell out of my nails and left me sore. In addition, it has only been one week and my nails look like crap, one even broke already. Not sure I'll come back. Spent 100 bucks fpr toes and nails and expect better than that. read more

My first time and last time. The lady that did my nails stopped 3 times while doing mine to do the lady to sits next to her whom also works there. She did not engage with me at all. All she asked is what I wanted done, the color/design and then to go wash my hands no soap. She held a conversation with the lady that sits next to her almost the entire time. This was on Monday. It's now Wednesday morning and the shellac is peeling off and the gold strip has come almost completely off As well as the polish/shellac. When this place first opened service was excellent, my last 3 visits have been awful. They try and insist you do other than what you ask, for example I asked for shellac and the girl insisted I do powder dip. I told her I didn't want the dip this time, she finally did the shellac however did an awful job, could not get the shellac to stay on due to what she says is my natural oils on my nails (never had this problem ever) then she was getting frustrated and telling me to relax my hand over and over. Nails came out not polished completely and lumpy looking. The time before the guy just started cutting my nails and got fake ones out to put on and I had to stop him and explain that they were my real nails and not artificial and that's not what I was there for. read more
